Map & Owner's Profile
Dry River Cabin - Bordering George Washington National Forest
Year Purchased: 2011
Why the Owner Chose Harrisonburg
We bought this cabin because it was right next to our house, and we decided it would be a nice property to own. We love to spend weekends up there when the cabin isn't rented out.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Our land and cabin borders the George Washington National Forest and while the cabin feels remote, it is only 2 minutes from the main road, yet feels like it is in the middle of nowhere. Very peaceful.
Owner's Map of Harrisonburg
I am a full time college student and my wife teaches 7th grade science. We moved to Virginia from Texas so I could finish my college degree. We are down to 7 dogs now, from a high of 9. And we have 4 cats. When we travel everyone gets to go along (pets included). Our pets love to be in the car as well as explore all of the trails here in Rawley Springs. We have a daughter who is 2 years old who absolutely loves playing at the cabin and going for walks and hikes too.

I had a great time here. It has a lot of charm, is set in a beautiful location, and is truly a cabin. Had a great time hanging out and relaxing near the fireplace. It is a great place to get away from things and relax.

For someone looking for a place to get away, yet still be close to civilization, Dry River Cabins is your answer. Located in the mountains of the Shenendoah Valley of Virginia, this property offers seclusion and quiet in the midst of all the beauty the Valley has to offer: hiking, biking, fishing, or just driving over back country roads. The owners are commited to one's comfort and will go the extra mile in making your stay memorable. Harrisonburg, complete with most restaurant chains and a decent sized mall, is less than 10 miles away.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children.
