From the family mementos placed throughout the cottage to the classic 1952 beach home architecture, a walk through this home will take you down memory lane to the good ole' days of family get-togethers at the beach.
This cozy three bedroom home will delight beachcombers, storm watchers and those looking to relax the day away with the sounds of the surf. Just steps away from this vintage home awaits a seven mile stretch of sandy beach just across Hwy. 101.
The home offers one very private bedroom with a deck and a full size bed. The second and third bedroom each offer a queen size bed.
This home is perfect for families or a small group looking to explore the Central Oregon Coast. The Sea Lion Caves are 30 miles to the south and the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport is just 16 miles to the north. Hiking trails abound in the area and kayak rental is available in Waldport to explore the Alsea River.
After a day exploring the coast, guests can spend the evening relaxing by the firepit and star gazing or inside enjoying the board games provided.
This home has been in the Johns/Appleton family for most of its existance. The home was sold to another family when the Johns retired in 1958 but in 2002 it was purchased by the grandson (Appleton family) for the property to remain in the family for future generations to enjoy. In many respects the home is exactly as the Johns built it in 1952. This home holds many pleasent memories of times past. Come make your own special memories at Seaway Historic Beach Cottage!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Seaway Historic Beach House in Waldport. The location is just across Hwy 101 from miles of wide, open beach. Access is very convenient, and a very short walk from the property. We highly recommend this as a peaceful, quiet "get away from it all" rental.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Wonderful time. We had a wonderful time here. The weather was wet and stormy, however, with warm and homey accommodations we had a very nice time. The kitchen is fairly well stocked, and everything was very clean. It has a cozy little living room that we enjoyed during the stormy weather. We would rent here again. we wish you would provide wi-fi.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our stay was fabulous....house was nice and cozy, homey feeling. The location was great; right across from ocean.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
