  Our stay in this Hawthorne house was able to accommodate seven, and all of us were extremely happy with our stay. The house is well stocked with extra blankets, dishware, cleaning supplies, towels--everything to make you feel right at home. When we arrived the house was very clean and well prepared for our stay. The biggest sale on this house is the location--just blocks away from Hawthorne, and not a bad walk from Downtown. You can get almost anywhere in the city by bus or foot from this home. There is a wonderful deck (with a grill), and an upstairs attic with a great view of the city. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a fun weekend in Portland. The upstairs neighbors are a little loud, but that didn't bother us much. I'd say it's worth overlooking for the price and location of this house. However, the noise volume of the neighbors is probably not suitable for young children. Renter was also very nice and accessible during our process of securing the house for the weekend.

  We stayed at this VR two weeks ago now, and it was just brilliant!!! Conveniently located near the Hawthorne district, which makes it easy to get to pretty much anywhere. We were able to park on the street, as well as walk back home at 2:30am, and it felt very safe! The apartment is decorated tastefully and has everything you could need (coffee machine, TV etc). It's an older town home, which meant that you could hear the upstairs neighbours and the occasional chatter from downstairs - but that's to be expected from a city apartment. There was four of us (two couples) and we had our own bedrooms - something most "four people" vacation rentals do not offer for the price we paid! My only complain would be waking up to somebody doing blow outs/landscaping outside, but then I remembered that it was a Friday, and while I was on holiday, it was just another weekday for everybody else. Overall, I would highly recommend this VR and would definitely stay there again! PS: Have breakfast at Jam... amazing food - only down the road from this rental

  Place was handsomely decorated. All inside was clean, including the floors. The kitchen was totally equipped as was the laundry. Two bicycle helmets and pump were there. Great access to bus routes, the #14 and #70. Restaurants within walking distance. Owner was very responsive when I had trouble getting on the internet. Problem turned out to be my laptop. Would stay there again. Would give it a 5 stars if the windows had been washed and cleaned; white privacy sheer curtains in bedroom and bath;and BBQ was in better shape. Again I would return and recommend.

  We stayed here for a few days to decompress before our wedding. It was perfect. The location is hard to beat. The house itself is well-appointed, and had everything we needed. The air conditioner kept it cool enough to sleep and enjoy relaxing. The owner was very kind and accomodating. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a comfortable place in a quiet neighborhood close to the Hawthorne district as well as downtown.

  We absolutely loved our stay at the Historic Hawthorne!! The home is centrally located and easily walkable distance from all of Hawthorne's cute shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our relaxing weekend and definitely recommend it to anyone!

  This site was wonderful including location. We had everything we needed to make our vacation complete. Everyone was pleased and it made for a lovely stay in Portland. We recommend it highly.
