A very comfortable home for a week... or for ever!
Unit ideally located near entrance of Ocean Walk, across from pool, literally steps away from lovely duck pond, fitness center, and tennis courts. Don't take the long, slow drive way back into this large complex each time you come and go!! Beautifully landscaped grounds. Located in the heart of St. Simons Island Village. Two minute drive to beach; walkable to dining and shopping -- about 1/3 mile. Bike anywhere. Lovely neighborhood.

Perfect 4-Night Stay for Cousins Getaway
I have stayed in many beach rental properties over the past 10 years, from condos at Hilton Head to 4 BR houses at Cape San Blas, FL and 5 BR houses as St. George Island, FL. So I feel like I have a pretty good idea of the good and bad of rental experiences. And the experience at this property was very positive. My husband I stayed in this unit with our 8 yr-old niece, 4 yr-old son, and 11 mo-old son. Our cousins' families stayed in other units within the Ocean Walk n'hood, all within 2 minute walking distance of our condo. The pictures of the unit are spot-on: cute, bright colors; cozy living space, plenty of dining seating, and fantastic bedrooms (twins in 2 of the bedrooms) perfect for children. Carpet and walls were "well-loved" in spots but overall, it was perfect for our needs. In fact, our son and niece shared the "purple" room and our 11 month-old had a room all to himself for his portacrib. It's great having 2 bathrooms upstairs--both with tubs!--and plenty of closet space for hanging wet suits and storing suitcases. Turns out I didn't even need to bring my hair dryer as one was provided for me in the master bedroom. I've stayed in enough understocked rentals to know that I should bring my own sink sponge, Clorox Cleanup, detergent, and other supplies but this property had a ready stock of staples. I used my own but I was impressed to see that the owner offered these supplies if we'd forgotten them. Plenty of seating in the family room with board games for the kids and lots of floor space for crawlers. And a convenient 1/2 bath downstairs, too. One entire wall of the dining room is mirrored which really brightens and expands the space. A keyless entry system was great, too, so we didn't have to keep track of an old-school key amongst all the other beach paraphenalia. Lastly, the location: COULD NOT BE ANY BETTER. Close to the entrance, basically across from the main pool (30 second walk) and mere steps from gas grilles, the tennis courts, and the resident ducks at the lake. And 100 feet from the trash receptacle, woohoo. You do have to drive to the beach but it took us all of 5 minutes--very close. You could probably ride a bike, but with kids and tons of beach chairs and stuff it was easier to drive. Mullet Bay is 2 minutes away--great restaurant, very accomodating for our 17-person group. Highly recommended with a friendly owner who really seems to enjoy introducing visitors to the area and ensuring a comfy stay.

About the owner: I own and operate a stand up paddleboarding and windsurfing business that has been active on St Simons Island for 8 years. I know the island thoroughly. I also travel to other beach communities extensively. I know you can't beat the scene at St Simons. If you're not staying on the beach itself, Ocean Walk truly offers the "real feel" of St Simons. An affordable, centrally located spot no where near any busy thoroughfare, but yet, a walk or bike ride to anything the island offers.
