This elegant one-story 2 bedroom house is located in Eureka with a view of the beach and grass fields. The Beach and Humboldt Bay is just 5 minutes. Arcata is about 12 minutes.
The house has new hardwood floors, Oriental carpets, custom cabinets, and original artwork by nationally known artists. There is aqueen-size bed in each bedroom.
Eureka and Fortuna is a small university town located between Humboldt Bay and the Arcata Redwood Forest. The spectacular rocky seacoasts, beaches, and forests of Redwood National Park are just to the north. The beautiful clear rivers of the Six Rivers National Forest are both north and south.
Our House is near Redwood Park, a few exits from Humboldt State University, College of the Redwoods and Arcata Plaza.
Redwood forests, concerts, restaurants, and movies are all close by. The university brings major entertainment acts for reasonable prices and no parking problems, from Ray Charles to the Tokyo String Quartet.
Arcata & Eureka has many community events, from the Oyster Festival, to bird watching gatherings, and a lively Saturday Farmer's Market. The Marsh Ponds are world famous for bird watching, and the Community Forest has miles of wild and remote hiking trails.

This was the worse place I have ever seen for a rental place. I would not of let my dog stay there. Grass up to your knees. On the end side there was crumbs on the kitchen table, floor. Trash in the bathroom, dirty towel hanging from the shower rod. A towel on the bathroom floor, a wet washcloth in the tub. Totally naste.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We booked this house for 4 nights starting on 5/11/12. When we arrived, the garage window was broken and glass was scattered in the driveway, the lawn was 2 feet deep in grass and weeds, and the house was already occupied. We called the owner who asked us if we had paid for our stay, since we had paid with a credit card and had the statement showing the charge, he then stated that he must have double booked the place. When we asked him what he was going to do about it he said we would just have to get a hotel room. He made no offer to help and made no apologies. We requested a refund on our credit card and he said he would have his secretary look into it. It is now the end of June, and after more phone calls to the owner, most unanswered, still no refund. I have just spoken to my credit card company who will now have to deal with this issue. Needless to say, I WOULD NOT recommend this property to anybody.Did you find this review helpful? On arriving garage door windows were broken, glass on driveway. (was the house broken into?) outside of house looked as if the place was abandoned,lawn about one foot tall. House was still being renovated, the neighborhood was sketchy,not as described. Kitchen was ill-equipped and what few pots and pans were there were dirty. We did not feel safe at this house. We left and found a motel. We found another house in Arcata that was as described for the rest of of vacation.
