Imagine living at the beginning of the 20th century on Lake Como. People moving from village to village either by boat or carriage. It took days and days to get from Como to the far north end to reach and cross the Alps, with goods or livestock.
Ossuccio developed as a halting post and the house "Galbiga" was the road-inn where to shelter for the night and have a meal. Who arrived by "comballo" (a large transport boat with one square sail) moored in the little harbour at 20 meters from the house.
"Inn-Galbiga" became "Casa Galbiga" (360 square meters), a precious house. It has a private fenced garden with barbecue area and is divided in 3 apartments one on each floor. Each apartment sleeps 4 in 2 double bedrooms, either with balconies, backside roofed terrace or open terrace . All with front view overlooking lake and mountains. Ask for detailed description of each apartment.
The villa is accurately furbished partly with family antiques. The kitchen and bathrooms are however in a modern Italian design. Each apartment can be rented separately.
We have a jetty with 2 boats to rent and enjoy the lake or a speed boat (with skipper) and would be happy to arrange lake trips for you, ask for availability and prices.
