  Great location, very dirty house! I was disappointed to find the house was not well kept. The yard was overgrown, there were dirty socks left in my bed, hairballs left in the drains and hardly any extra towels, blankets, sheets, etc. The furniture looked as though it had not been vaccuumed in quite some time and the microwave was barely functioning. I would NEVER stay here again nor would I recommend this place to anyone

  Owner response: It is regrettable that one of our guests did not have an exceptional stay at our highly rated ocean front beach home. Unfortunately, these guests never communicated anything to us while there even though we tell tenants to do so in our communication of the key information by providing the owners cell phone number. We also have confirmed the microwave works properly. We reached out to these tenants before writing this response with no better information. Curiously, this tenant was the first to use our newly installed wood floor and damaged it, losing their deposit. The house is professionally cleaned, and has new fresh sheets and towels. The house is beach front so the yard consists of a deck and salt grass which is natures erosion control for beach areas and not cut back for good reason.

  What a cozy beach getaway. Had an awesome time here even in the rain. Very central to all things on the coast to see. I highly recommend this house.

  Casa Del Mar is an excellent family beach rental. As a family with three young boys that thoroughly enjoy the sand and water, the amenities were perfect. Even Grandma and Grandpa were pleased. Put versus comparable "on the beach" rentals we have employed in many different States/Countries, Casa del Mar is top notch. Everything works. Kitchen is well equipped (bring a knife sharpener), jacuzzi and sauna are clean and wonderful, wood burning stove works perfectly, common areas are roomy with spectacular view of Haystack/Cape Kiwanda to the South and Cape Lookout to the North. Beds are firm and comfortable. Walk off the back porch straight to the beach. Watch the sunset while sipping your whatever in front of a fire while the kids wallow on the beach before you . . . what more could you be looking for! Oh yeah, how about the 15 minute bike ride to Pelican. We will return.

  Breathtaking view of the ocean and coast. Lovely place with everything you could want to relax without a care...FULL kitchen and ALL utensils which is rare. This is our third stay here and we look forward to the next visit.

  We had a great long weekend at the property. The setting is perfect, you are right on the beach. We stayed in the winter so we had the beach to ourselves for most of the day. Pacific city is a pleasant walk down the beach for a great lunch. I would recommend this property highly. We had 5 adults and 2 kids. plenty of room.

  My family and I wanted to do something different for Christmas this year, so we decided to venture to the coast. Casa del Mar was exactly what we were looking for - reasonably priced, spacious, beach front views and access, and close proximity to a town for those last minute groceries that you might have forgotten. There were 8 of us staying there - 5 adults and 3 teens/pre-teens and there was plenty of space for all of us. The three bedrooms and bathrooms were the perfect size for us and there were plenty of extra blankets if we had needed them. The property was spotless when we arrived and yes, the house is somewhat dated, but it is obviously well taken care of. We were also impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was - the only thing it was missing for Christmas dinner was a turkey roaster, which we thought to bring with us. The beach access was fabulous - and due to the time of year, the beach was nearly deserted most of the time. We were lucky and got some great weather, and I have to say that the beach was not as windy as I expected it to be. I also loved that the house was pet friendly - my dog and my nephew's dog loved their daily romps on the beach. I can only hope that we might be able to return for another visit in the future - we all agreed that we would come back to Casa del Mar in a heartbeat since it worked so perfectly for our family.

  This is the ideal house to use when visiting Tierra del Mar. Whether you want to walk the long, quiet beach, read a book, or just watch the ocean from the terrific windows in Casa del Mar, this is just the place for you. The house is well maintained and clean, and situated right on the dune just above the beach, with easy access to the sand. The upstairs bedroom must be seen to be believed and appreciated, and there is a sauna in the lower level. We will be sure to use this house again.

  Casa Del Mar is a great rental for our family vacation. The location is the best...you'll feel like you have a private beach. The house is big enough for the family, easily sleeps 10. Love the sauna and the jacuzzi. My overall rating really should be a 4 1/2. I couldn't mark 5 stars just because of the very poor oven in the home. The oven door has been sprung and will not shut properly so we had to use a chair to prop it closed until we figured out we could close the (cleaning) latch 1/2 way to hold it closed..,.if you close the latch all the way, you are in cleaning mode and it won't bake. Oven needed to be cleaned. But outside of that problem...the house is very nice. We stayed there last year, when the property was under management. It was much cleaner since the owners have taken over managing the property. They have done quite a few improvements and we certainly appreciated it. We'll cross our fingers that the oven will be the big improvement between now and next year...as we intend to rent this home again and again and again. Thank you Dan and family for sharing your home.   The only thing keeping this from being an excellent review were relatively minor issues because of property age and the short amount of time the owner has had the property to correct some things. It was quiet, relaxing and the ability to sit on the deck and read, or just watch the ocean was awesome. The puzzles and games were great for the rainy days and the uncrowded beach to stroll on was wonderful as well. We personally did most all of our own cooking and would like to have had a few more pots and pans, but there were plenty of dishes, utentisils and towels. If we do this again, we would check to see if this house is available first before going anywhere else.

  The location, views, and proximity to the beach make this house a wonderful place to stay. We loved all the windows looking out on the ocean, eating out at the Pelican Pub, and hiking in the nearby state park. The three full baths in the house made it a great place for a large group. We had a wonderful time!
