We stayed here last summer with one other couple and our three children. The upstairs loft was perfect sleeping conditions for our family and the master bedroom downstairs provided privacy for the other couple. We cooked all our meals in and enjoyed quiet mornings on the porch. The guys spend a couple days fishing on the lake and we were able to take the kids on a couple of day trips to waterparks and shopping. I would definitely recommend this cabin for a small family!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We were so pleased to settle into such a lovely getaway. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The home was just lovely and so well decorated. We enjoyed the movie selection and each having our own sofa and cozy throw blanket. The deck was lovely and we enjoyed listening to the birds and enjoying the solitude. We cooked most of our meals, and although the cooking area is quite small it was just fine, and we appreciated having a dishwasher, ice maker, and all the nice glassware and dishes. We really appreciated that Craig and his wife love this home and it shows in all the beautiful fabrics and silk flower arrangements that just give it a warmth and comfort that is special. It was also very nice to have all the little extras taken care of...plastic wrap, paper towels, and napkins, toiletries, laundry soap, etc...We didn't have to worry about all the little things one needs, but may have forgotten to pack. Thank you for such a relaxing stay at your wonderful cabin near the lake.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Dear Travelers, Thanks for your nice comments about our cabin. It is so nice to have traverers who enjoy their visit and take care of our little get-a-way while visiting. We hope you will consider using our cabin again. Thanks Craig

What a wonderful week my friend and I recently spent at Craig's beautiful cabin on Lake Barkley. It is true that the pictures do not do the cabin justice! It is ideally located and meets your every need. We are already looking forward to week there next year! Craig was wonderful to work with and provided us with alot of additional information about the area. But our favorite days were the ones spent just resting and relaxing at their wonderful cabin. I couldn't speak more highly of this place -- it is a home away from home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Dear Tennessee Travelers, Thanks for the nice review! I hope you will be able to return again next year. Also, thanks for taking care of my home while you were there. We would love to have you to return.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Lake Barkley for a recent anniversary trip. The cabin is in a lovely, peaceful location with all the amenities. Everything is well-kept, clean and welcoming - it's clearly maintained with a lot of love. We visited to hike and sight-see at Land Between the Lakes, and the proximity was great (about a 15 minute drive). Highly recommended!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
Owner response: Dear Bloomington Visitors, Thanks so much for the nice review. I hope you all will consider returning again sometime for another getaway. Craig

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at this cabin. We came in on a blustery day and the fireplace warmed us right up. It is such a peaceful place where one can relax and just be. Everything was well kept and so clean. My mom, two sisters and I, enjoyed playing the scrabble game that was there. The cabin is well situated to a lot of the areas attractions and we loved cruising around and taking in the great fall colors.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much for the nice review. Hope the abundance of falling leaves wasn't too much of a problem. Glad you all have a good time and hope you all will visit us again.

First of all, thank you so much for the fine ammenities. This cabin was so much more than I expected. The cabin was super clean, nicely decorated, and even furnished with good movies, books and games. My two daughters, ages 9 and 6 absolutley loved it. None of us wanted to leave. The lake can be seen from the cabin and you can quickly walk to see a gorgeous view of Lake Barkley. We even came into contact with some of the neighbors...so, so nice. The kitchen had everything we needed (except for groceries) as well as the bathroom. We will definelty return so long as Craig will have us. Speaking of Craig, he was quick to respond to my emails/questions. Nothing to fuss about here. A great home away from home!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Cass & Family, Thank you so much for your nice review. We really appreciate individuals who take care of our property and enjoy their visit as well. We hope you can visit again. Thanks Craig

Craig, Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had a wonderful time there and found it to be a very nice sized home (would love to own such a home) that was very clean, very well-stocked in case we forgot something and decorated so nice. Thank you again for making our birthday weekend a great success!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Amenities, peace & quiet -- not much more you could ask for. Proximity to water not great, but we weren't there for the water. House was well appointed and in excellent condition. Sleeps six, but really accommodates four. One bath and one private bedroom. Living room and eat-in kitchen seat 4 comfortably. Nice outside deck. Only disappointment was a CD collection, but no CD player. Rental rate is reasonable, but cleaning fee makes the total cost competitive with other places.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
Owner response: Diane, Thanks for your comments. Sorry you didn't see the CD player, it is included with the radio on the counter in the kitchen. Hope you will find opportunity to visit us in the future. Also, check out my other rental #429529 for larger living areas, 3 BR, 2BA on 2 levels. Craig
