  This darling yellow cottage was my home for Columbus Day weekend. I shared it with several of my girlfriends for an annual get away. I do not have to look for another place next year, because this cottage was perfect ! It is close to all of the wineries, Hammondsport (voted the best small town by Budget magazine) and Skyline Road which takes you right down the middle of Keuka Lake. Make certain that you visit Garrett Chapel, a hidden gem located on a steep slope with views of the lake. Because it was October, we had the entire point to ourselves, aside from lakeside Louie, a delightful yellow lab. The chilly temperatures prompted us to build a fire in the fire pit, and the calm serene mornings allowed us to kyak on Keuka Lake. Thank you Rick and Diane...it was perfect.

  We had a wonderful stay at Rick and Diane's cottage. The location is incredible! The house sits down the driveway, away from the road on a little cove (search for Lakeside Restaurant on Bing maps bird's eye view and you can see it a few houses north). The view of the lake is amazing and the cove is sheltered so the water was clear, calm, and warm--perfect for swimming or floating on the numerous rafts. The cottage has its own small lawn that flows into the well-kept lawns of the neighbors--this enhances the view and gives a nice sense of space. We enjoyed the large private beach of smooth stones (no mud), the fire pit & bench, and the good-sized dock with seating. The sky is gorgeous at night--you can easily see the Milky Way. The cottage--including the bathroom--is updated, cozy, and very clean. It is simple but well appointed with thoughtful details like a built in heater in the bathroom that would be nice on chilly days, wifi, W/D, A/C, etc. Although there is only a shower (no tub), it is large enough that we were able to easily bathe our two young children in it. We particularly enjoyed the large wrap-around porch! We ate all of our meals out there. We had fun with the kayak but also rented a motor boat on several days from the marina just south of the restaurant (walked to pick it up and tied it up at the cottage dock). The lake wasn't crowded, even on our two summer weekends--it was a wonderful place to go boating. Rick and Diane have recently purchased a boat that they may be renting--even more convenient! The surrounding area was very nice as well. Convenient grocery store and restaurants, delicious ice cream in Pen Yan, Keuka Lake State Park with playgrounds and a guarded beach, the wineries, Watkins Glen State Park. We also enjoyed biking along the other side of the lake just south of the state park. The owners are great hosts: welcoming, attentive, and very easy to work with. We would definitely rent from them again.

  We stay on Keuka Lake every summer for a week. This cottage is one of the best we have ever rented. Not only was the home clean, tastefully decorated and well appointed with all the comforts of home (cable, WiFi, washer/dryer) the view and location was PERFECT. We have three children under 9 years old. The absolutely loved having the second floor bedrooms to themselves. My husband and I were comfortable in the first level bedroom. We loved the porch and ate most of our meals out there, used the grill every day. The beach was great, lots of water floats and a kayak to choose from. We loved that the house was so close to the center of Hammondsport too. The owners were friendly and helpful. We would definitely rent this house again. Perfect location, beautiful cottage!

  Rick and family have a lovely spot on the lake. The pictures on the website do not do justice to the property. Must see in person to truly appreciate. Plenty of space both inside and out for a large group gathering with multiple different places to enjoy (dock, porch, large firepit area). The weather was perfect and we have already made plans to return next year. Rick and Diane are very kind and pleasure to work with.

  Heaven! We just loved staying at this beautiful little home. The decor of the home was clean, pleasant and minimalist. It always looked fresh and nice to walk into. The one drawback was that at the time we stayed in it (just the week after it was purchased by the current owners) there was only seating for three in the mail living area--I would assume that they have fully outfitted that space by now. The house itself was situated on one of the most beautiful parts of this majestic lake (we have stayed at other parts, but this has been our favorite!). We had such a fantastic time! The Lakeside restaurant gave us a great destination for two nights out for dinner, but the kitchen was great for cooking in (nice grill, too!) We were lucky to have a week with almost no rain, so we really got to enjoy every aspect of the lake all of the time. From skipping stones to swimming, to sunning and kayaking, we loved, loved, loved this lake! The house was a very adequate size for our family of four (two young school aged kids), but on a rainy week or with a larger family, you might feel the small size of it. We continue to look back on this week very fondly--it was the perfect week of relaxation and fun for our family! The owners were accommodating, flexible and easy to deal with.
