Only about a half mile from Nantucket’s stunning Surfside beaches come home - through the lavender and thyme scented borders, behind the hydrangeas - to find your Nantucket porch swing waiting at the front of this charming 3bed/2bath home.
Inside, enjoy the light filled, open-plan living and dining room with mahogany floors and freshly painted interior. Relax on the comfy sectional with room for the whole family to take in some TV or dvds after a fabulous day at the beach, golf (4 miles), yummy Bartlett's Farm (4.7), Cisco Brewery (4.3) or browsing Main Streets shops, restaurants, museums and galleries (2.9). We also have games and books (in both English and French - oui, nous parlons Français!) for you to enjoy.
The renovated shaker kitchen with new dishwasher, stove & microwave has all the appliances and equipment that you could need with a family-sized stainless steel fridge and plenty of storage for stress free meals in the dining room or on the back patio.
Built-in bookcases and a stylish mix of antiques and modern furniture and appliances (dyson fans, new washer and dryer in a laundry cupboard) makes for easy living with plenty of island charm.
The family bath with claw-footed bathtub/shower is both charming and convenient.
Upstairs is the large master suite including an ensuite bathroom with a romantic marble double shower, a walk-in closet and additional storage. A Nantucket style queen room and a smaller room with a bunk bed makes for comfortable sleeping for 6.
The stone patio at the back of the house has teak furniture and the indispensable outdoor shower off to the side for privacy.
Our lovely Nantucket house sits well back on an acre of land leaving lots of lawn for the kids to play or for adults to sit and enjoy the beautiful garden. There is plenty of parking if you feel you need a car. We rarely use our car on island.
We are delighted to supply high quality, all natural linens and towels, beach chairs, coolers and just about everything needed for a Nantucket vacation that wonderful memories are made of.

Everything about this house was amazing!!! It was exactly as I pictured it! The house was clean and had everything you could possibly need. The beds and sheet were incredible! The outdoor shower was amazing after returning from the beach. The owner was so easy to work with!!! My family had the best time in Nantucket and mainly because the house felt like it was our home!! We rode the bikes that is supplied with the house everywhere. We cant wait to return one day and I will only stay here!! Thanks for one of our favorite vacations!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children.

12 Folger is an adorable Nantucket cottage. The home was in perfect condition with very nice amenities from nice linens and a well appointed kitchen to beach chairs, unbrellas and even a selection of bikes to use. A wonderful private yard with beautiful gardens an outdoor shower and two areas for al fresco dining. The owner's attention to detail is seen and felt throughout. A true gem. We will definitely be returning.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

This lovely house is only minutes from Surfside Beach, conveniently close to shops, and a short drive or bike into town, and yet is quiet and private. The kitchen is beautifully appointed and equipped and the house is light and welcoming. The bedrooms have plenty of storage and the beds are new and very comfortable. The garden is particularly wonderful: the back patio has a large grill and the front garden offers nice Adirondack and steamer chairs for reading in the sun. There's also a secondary eating area situated in a quiet corner of the garden. There are plenty of bikes to tour the island's many terrific beaches via excellent bike paths. The outdoor shower is divine: private and plenty of hot water. Great yoga studio nearby (The Yoga Room); also, don't miss Bartlett Farm, which has good food, gifts, and activities for children. Surfside Beach has showers and toilets, which is nice, but best of all, it's uncrowded and the sand and water are clean and beautiful. A relaxing and fun stay: I slept like a baby. I will definitely return.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

About the owner: I'm an author of bilingual novels for teens. (Alors, pour les francophones, oui, nous parlons français.)I travel a lot but love coming home to Nantucket. The picture is of me in London at a book signing event. It's fun meeting readers and sharing my books with them. I feel the same way about renting our Nantucket house. It's such a great place. I hope your family enjoys it as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Surfside:
There is absolutely no vacation like an island vacation. First of all - NO beach traffic! Go to the most beautiful beaches when you want to, not when you have to because of traffic and parking. And you don't feel that you have to stay all day. Why would you, you can always go home and then come back when you want. And on island there is a feeling of safety which is so relaxing. It does take me a few days to stop locking my car every time I get out but I get there eventually. You really feel like you've left the world behind. Nantucket's unique combination of outstanding natural and architectural beauty, zealously preserved, great food, shopping and history/culture is hard to beat. The toughest thing about a Nantucket vacation is watching the Harbor disappear on the ferry back to the mainland.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I love having to choose between our wonderful marble shower and the fun of an outdoor shower. I love how easy it is to gather everyone together for dinner in the open plan dining room or on the back patio. I love having the choice between walking past the ponds across the dunes to the beach or taking the bike trail. Knowing that the drive is about 3 minutes with no problems of parking or traffic is a bonus. I love being close to Miacomet Golf Course, the only public course on island. I love coming home to the lavender and thyme scented gardens. I think most of all I love sitting with my family on the front porch swing - pinching myself that I really am on Nantucket.
