We just returned from our trip to Rome. We had the pleasure of staying at Andrea's Penthouse flat. Prior to arrival, Andrea provided us with written restaurant recommendations, information regarding markets in close proximity to the flat, and information about the flat itself. Upon arrival, we met Andrea at the flat. The flat was exactly as depicted in the photographs - a cozy one bedroom unit. It was exceptionally clean. It was outfitted with most modern amenities, including WiFi and satellite TV. The kitchen is small, but very functional. The bathroom is a decent size, but the shower is pretty small (as one would expect). Otherwise, everything within the flat was fantastic. The building is secure and located in a safe neighborhood 3-4 blocks north of the Vatican. The flat is two blocks away from the Ottaviano metro station - making for quick trips to various parts of Rome (3 stops from the Spanish Steps, 4 from the Trevi Fountain, etc.) We enjoyed the close proximity of several excellent restaurant options, several of which were recommended by Andrea. A major selling point is the large terrace with its panoramic view of the Vatican & St. Peter's Basilica, the Coliseum, and the Spanish Steps. It was quite refreshing to enjoy early mornings on the terrace before venturing out and relaxing to close out a full day of our Roman adventure. We would recommend Andrea's Penthouse apartment to anyone interested in obtaining the full-on Roman experience. Andrea was extremely helpful prior to and during our stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

The property was outstanding with a huge balcony overlooking St Peter's Basilica a short walking distance from the Vatican. We did walk to the Coliseum which was quite a distance but so many interesting views along the way we enjoyed every minute. Fine restaurants within walking distance including an Anthony Bourdain recommendation , Cacio e pepe, and yes go there and have this dish! The owner couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful as my husband hurt his knee on the last night and he came and helped getting us to a pharmacy. I would not hesitate going back and highly recommend staying at this property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Andrea's apartment was just what we searched for when visiting Rome: location, location, location! Stunning views from the10 floor, comfortable/cozy, good local restaurants, al fresco dining, security/safety in a city known for its petty theft issues, and ease of working out all arrangements with the owner. Both of us vowed to return to Italy in 2014 and we will be booking our Rome visit with Andrea again - hopefully his apartment will still be available and he will rememeber the couple from Northern California who fell in love with Rome! My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Andrea's apartment. The location was great-a short walk to the Vatican and 2 blocks to the Ottaviano-"San Pietro" Metro station on the A line. The apartment was very comfortable. The neighborhood was vibrant and there are countless restaurants and, of course, gelato. Try Old Bridge gelato across from the Vatican walls. You'll know the place by the long lines out front. The views from the terrace were stunning. The unobstructed views of the dome of St. Peter's and of historic Rome cannot be exaggerated and I doubt that many properties could ever duplicate the views. Andrea was a great host and explained everything to us on arrival and offered suggestions for dining. Rome is an incredible city and Andrea's apartment is the perfect place to begin your adventure.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Andrea's apartment was an absolute highlight of my trip to Rome. The views from the terrace are absolutely amazing and even better than what you see in the photos. A great place to sit and sip a fine glass of wine and watch the colours change the city at sunset. The neighbourhood is vibrant and safe so walking around at any time of day or night is fine. There are countless restaurants, cafes and shopping within minutes of walking. Andrea provided a list of restaurants to try and of the few I did get to they were brilliant. The apartment is well set up and very comfortable and Andrea is a fabulous host and provided great local knowledge. I would not hesitate in recommending this apartment when in Rome. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Property is exactly as was represented in the photos. Andrea, the owner exceeded our expectations around availability of our questions and neighborhood advice. The neighborhood is awesome. Fresh pasta store literally a block away. Metro stop, ten minute walk. Groceries, got that covered as well within five minute walk. Espresso or sweet treat, all within the surrounding blocks. We liked being on the Vatican side of town and metro line A got us to the Spanish Steps in minutes. The terrace is simply awe inspiring. Great way to enjoy a Rome experience. Andrea, thanks again for letting us share your fantastic apartment. When in Rome again, will stay with you again. We struggled leaving yesterday.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
