Lake Tippecanoe is a 768-acre, all-sports lake located in Indiana near Fort Wayne. The Hart's Desire cottage has been host for over 30 years of family vacations with a clientele that has been coming back for as many. The cottage is nestled only 50 feet from a sandy beach with gentle slope for younger children. The cottage has five bedrooms and one-and-one-half baths, sleeping nine in beds. (Bed set up available upon request.) It is totally updated with carpet, full kitchen, patio, and much, much more.
With depths up to 123 feet, Lake "Tippy" as it affectionately called by locals has channel access to over seven other lakes in the Barbee Lake chain. The lake also holds excellent bass and pan fishing opportunities along with a growing opportunity for big muskie. Its neighboring lake, Webster Lake, has been rated as high as fifth in the country for muskie fishing.
Although many of our guests prefer the prime summer months, the months of September and October are by far the most beautiful and less busy than the summer season. September and October are perfect months for empty nester and senior citizen getaways! This is a must do vacation spot!

We had a wonderful 4th of July and a beautiful week at Tippecanoe Lake. Harts Desire is a wonderful place to stay. The weather was great! The cottage was very comfortable! We relaxed and enjoyed every minute. We would very much like to come back to Tippecanoe Lake again. Thank You Tim and Family

My cousin got married here 30 years ago (before Tim even owned the cottage), and this was our first return since 1980. She came from CT to go with my mom & me for a summer lake vacation. Two nights 3 other family members joined us. Unfortunately they didn't bring their boats because they weren't staying long enough, but it gave us a 4th player for cards. We rented a pontoon boat Monday afternoon from Patona Bay Marina so it was fun to tour the lake. My cousin didn't like the "lake weeds" but I just floated over them with my raft and thought "I bet this might be a good place to fish". I'm obviously a big "outdoorsy person" and totally enjoyed the lake experience. We lucked out and actually had cool weather most of the week thank goodness. The cottage was very clean, but my favorite part was the comfy beds with very nice sheets! Pie-Eyed Petey's (just down the street) had really good deep-dish pizza (and other food as well). It's sort of a sports oriented atmosphere in the bar area with several TVs. There's a huge outdoor eating area too. You can drive your car or your boat there.Since it was so close (and good) we went there several times. North Webster has a neat shoe store (Pilchers), several shops we visited again this year, and a nice little grocery. Linda & Walt were very helpful and super nice! Linda recommended doing a bento box lunch (I forget the name but think it was about 25 minutes away) so we had a great lunch for my mom's 81st birthday. And the owner (Tim) was always quick and friendly with our correspondence. Thanks again to Tim, Walt & Linda!
Owner response:Thank you Gloria. Glad you had a great time! Tim

Hi Tim, Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time at Lake Tippecanoe last week. We met your in-laws and found them to be friendly and very pleasant. We had a few days of the weather not cooperating, but that's to be expected. We appreciate you sharing your cottage with us for the week. We made great family memories that I am sure will last a lifetime. Terri Monaghan Greenwood, IN

My mom and dad and aunt have been renting a cottage either on North Webster or Tippy Lake for at least 35 yrs and since then my dad has passed away but my mom, aunt, sister and daughter really enjoyed their stay at Hart's Desire and thought that it was the nicest cottage they have ever stayed in. Thank You! How much do you need down to rent next yr and do you have anything in July available?

Tim,Dana and I and our family had a terrific time at Hart’s Desire this summer. We really enjoy our time at Lake Tippecanoe to relive our fond family vacation memories and create new ones. This was our 19th year vacationing at Tippe and 26th year at the lakes with our families. Thank you for providing a place for us each summer to live the “lake”.Hart’s desire was in great shape again. It doesn’t seem to age and you have kept it up well and clean as always. Walt and Linda are wonderful “hosts” that help make our time at the lake relaxing. They are always there when we have questions and check to make sure all is going well. Their extra fan was very thoughtful during a couple of 90 degree nights. Their family visitors are very friendly and we interact well. Your brother-in-law is strong competitor in the corn hole game who matched up well with our best players. Linda helped us get the rules to Sequence card game. Dana had made the game board from Linda last year but we did not have a set of rules. It has become one of our favorite lake card games. I am glad I did not bet Walt on the outcome of the Ohio State and Penn State football game this year. Please thank Walt and Linda for all their help this summer as they were not around when we left and wanted to express our appreciation.Dan and Dana Wolfred

Tim,We greatly enjoyed our stay at Hart’s Desire this year again. 15 years now!The weather arrangements were much better this year with temps in the high 80’s and low 90’s with plenty of sun. Last year was cool and wet. Nice job!The cottage was clean, well kept, and in great condition. Thank you.The new TV with DVD was very nice. The new dock was a plus and we appreciate keeping a ladder on the end to get out of water.Looking forward to our visit next year! Dan & Dana Wolfred

Hi Tim and Lori, We had a wonderful week at the lake Our three "kids" (ages 18, 20, and 22) were there all week, so each having a separate bedroom was a real plus. In fact, the whole layout was perfect - Mom and Dad could go to bed "early" and the kids could stay up late playing cards. (That big table was perfect for cards and other games.) Our weather was perfect. Lori's dad took us on a great boat ride on Friday, which we so appreciated. And I LOVED not having to do a big cleaning - that really gave me a whole extra day of vacation. Thanks for a wonderful week! The Engles
