We had a Wonderful trip to Captiva in early Dec (04) & would highly recommend staying at this house. The pool & beach are so close and we walked to the restaurants too! I’m glad we were told the house had beach towels, it was such a treat not to have to pack them and it left more room for all our purchases! We spent time on the beach and at the pool and had perfect weather of 78 – 85 degrees and sunny!!! There was only one misty day but it was still warmer than Minnesota! We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing atmosphere. We did a lot of shelling and our favorite shelling spot was at blind pass. Some of our favorite foods were: steamed oysters (in yummy garlic butter) at Doc Fords/Sanibel, the ‘beach bucket’ (asst’d steamed seafood) at McT’s, our favorite key lime pie was at Key Lime Bistro & their crab cake benedict for breakfast was delicious, RC Otters had good breakfast & dinner specials, the Green Flash had good food & it had huge windows facing the bay. The Bubbleroom was another favorite their T Bone was excellent & the desserts (butterfinger dessert & red velvet cake) are awesome. Our favorite ice cream was on Sanibel at the Tahitian Gardens, a placed called Tropical Temptations—the “white coconut” was to die for. We saw some of the prettiest sunsets ever in Captiva. One night it was completely orange & the next night it was a bright pink, so pink it made the gulf waters look purple! We enjoyed watching the dolphins & especially the Manatees! We watched the Manatees by the Sunset Captiva dock & also Jensen’s Marina which is right next to it – and saw 6 of them at one time – definitely one of our trip highlights! Hopefully next time we will take a boat trip to Cabbage Key we were told it is a fun trip. Captiva has won our hearts & we will definitely be back again!!! Thank you for sharing your house with us, see you next time!!!

We had the best family vacation we have ever had. The house was wonderful. Beautiful colors and fun decor. Plenty of linens and beach stuff like chairs and umbrellas. I searched the Island shops to find the colored Cameleons like the ones in the house to bring home. We can't wait to go back next year. (Hopefully for 2 weeks). Thanks to Lisa and Ken for a wonderful vacation home. Bye Bye Captiva!! See you next year!!

Purpose of our trip: Vacation. The weather was Great, high 70's and low 90's at day time. What we did: beach, pool, beach, pool, some reading, and lots of eating and drinking...We met visitors from St Louis, everyone very friendly. Would recommend: Thistle Lodge, Island Cow (great menu, homemade icecream from Captiva General Store. One of our highlights was beating our sister/brother in-law at Trivial Pursuit; going to the bookstore with my niece, reading on a rainy day.

Date of stay: June 5 - 26, 2004 What we did: shell hunting, fishing, sunsets on the beach, reading, sand castles, snorkeling, it goes on and on... People we met: Not one grumpy person in 3 weeks. Everyone we met was happy and friendly. Places we would recommend: Sunset Cafe -Sanibel (great breakfast). Bubble Room - Great for lunch (especially for kids). Would not recommend RC Otters, Green Flash. Fun: Rent a boat from Jensens across the road and tour the islands. We saw many dolphins, manatee, a giant turtle as well as a guy catch a 145 lb Tarpon - AMAZING! The temperature while we were there was 90!

Date of stay: May 22, 2004 for one week. The weather was "Perfect" 80's high. What we did: Beach, eat, pool, eat, shop, eat, tennis, eat, relax, walking! Enjoyed the screened porch! The first morning on the beach - watched the dolphins all morning! At sunset, dolphins still in view! Dinner at the Green Flash - one of our favorites. From the window - watched a sea otter climb aboard a boat, look around then jump back in the water and swim off. As we left the Green Flash, we encountered a rabbit running to the bushes! Rabbits, Rabbits everywhere even at Captiva Sunset! Could not have asked for better weather - not a cloud in the blue sky all week! "This is about our 10th trip to Captiva Sunset and it was just as great as our 1st time here!" Places we recommend: Timbers, Key Lime Bistro, Green Flash, Grandma Dots (Sanibel), RC Otters, Mc T's (Sanibel), Chadwicks, Beach House for swim suits. Explore Sanibel AND Captiva.

Date of stay: 4/24/04 - 5/15/04. The purpose of their trip: To enjoy the sun in Florida. The weather was mostly sunny and warm. What we did: Unfortunately D.R. was not feeling good for the first ten days but made up for it later. Had our fair share of the beach and enjoyed boat trip and also a great trip to Cabbage Key: mainly relaxed! People we met: spoke to lots of nice people and mostly found the natives and visitors very friendly. Places we would recommend: The Mucky Duck is always friendly and good fun - Jerry's is definately the best for food shopping on the islands. RC Otters not so good but good food at Key Lime Bistro. And if in Sanibel - Amy's Easy Over is good and inexpensive for lunch. Favorite Moments: Almost definately the trip to Cabbage Key for lunch and the dolphins chased us home!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! We enjoyed our stay at your spacious home. The house is decorated in such fun colors and was tended to immaculately. Having plenty of towels, linens, beachtowels, lawn chairs & etc. was so helpful to our family. It felt like home away from home. The location was absolutely perfect! Everything was so close(the gulf, pool, and restaurants). We had warm weather, spent time at the beach, pool and took long walks. We went to the local crab races and took a kayak adventure, WHAT FUN! We did rent a golf cart for just for a few days, it was a good way to explore the beautiful island. Thank you for being so kind with all of our phone calls and questions, you have been the most accomomodating landlaord we have ever rented from! We will be back to visit your "PARADISE" again - (next time for 2 weeks) Thank you for the memories and wounderful time.

DATE OF STAY: APRIL 17, 2004 The reason for our trip was to have a slow paced vacation. The weather was so very nice and warm. We parasailed, rented a wave runner, ate a the Green Flash, went on a sunset cruise, went to the pool and beach, and collected shells. Recommend the Green Flash, Over Easy Cafe, and the Mucky Duck.
