We stayed here for 10 days over spring break this year and had a great time. The cabin had plenty of room for our large family (2 adults and 4 kids). Everyone had a comfortable bed, the kitchen was fully functional, there were plenty of clean linens, a lot of hot water, and the washer and dryer were perfect. The outdoor grill was also great, and Jesse made sure that everything was taken care of. The cabin is literally 3 minutes from Bear Mountain and 6 minutes from the Village. Supermarkets are a couple of minutes away as well. There is a great dry creek (seasonal I am guessing) for the kids to play in and woods for them to explore right out the back of the home. I highly recommend this place and will be back.

The description was spot-on regarding the location, appearance and amenities. The rental was clean and well-maintained. The owner was very easy to deal with. I would recommend this rental to a group of our size (6-8.) The only things missing that could make this an 'excellent' rating would be: more comfortable beds, a dishwasher and t.v's in every bedroom.It would've been nice to have the Game-Cube video gaming connected to a t.v. in the bunk-room, but it served its purpose and kept the boys happy as clams while we cooked or had adult time. But.....seeing how this is a vacation home-you really don't want to spend too much time inside anyway. My boys are age 7, 11 and 14. We also took my active-senior Dad. Although there are a few steps to get in the house and go down the side to get to sledding, it was non-challenging and almost a mute point. The house decorations were simple which made for no worry of accidents and left plenty of room for us to unload all of our 'stuff.' I found it very nice that the bathrooms had shampoos and brand new towels-plenty of them for all of us! It snowed 1 1/2 feet one of the 3 nights we stayed-it was a relief that the owners have a local man that comes to plow the driveway burm away that the city plow leaves. He also blows all of the snow away from the steps between the driveway to the house. Everything was sooo simple. I didn't even have to call to find out who to contact-it was done. And I didn't have to pay for it! This alone, almost made me rate a 5-star. HUGE benefit that a prior rental didn't do for us. I would definitely like to come back to this rental again for sledding. I have never found a better home that accommodates the whole family with the type of hills, sledding. My youngest wasn't intimidated and my oldest wasn't bored. It was GREAT! My boys are ready to try snowboarding, I think if we stay here again, it is conveniently close to Bear Mountain that we may try some in/out activities now that we know the snow plow situation is soo stress free. The rate was very reasonable for the type of accommodations-very pleased. Our security deposit was refunded the very next day after check-out, I didn't even have to inquire. Very respectful and courteous-Thank you!

Outstanding Big Bear rental for families!

I just returned from this cabin and my family and I had a wonderful stay. My priority for the trip was to have the ability to play in the snow without leaving the property. I have two small kids, and did not want the hassle. This cabin is PERFECT. The backyard is up against a good sized hill, and a national forest. The area is private, full of sledding opportunities, and absolutely beautiful. The cabin was equipped with sleds and shovels as well. The cabin itself was clean, well-stocked, and we enjoyed the full sized kitchen appliances (no "rustic" cooking here). We cooked every meal and it was just like being at home. Literally all you have to bring is food. Note there is no dishwasher. The fireplace was warm and the heater was excellent. Finally, when I did have a few questions, the owner answered my phone calls and walked me through what I needed. Outstanding service. Where to rent totally depends on your goals. If you have a family with kids, or just don't want to leave your cabin for the duration of your stay, this is the place. We will rent here again for sure.

We had great snow Friday evening and were required to have chains the whole weekend. It was great snow around the house and we could walk to the trail down below the house (about 100 yards) and Bear Mountain Ski resort (about 1 mile). We were sledding fromt he house down to the bottom. The house was clean like ours and we were able to keep it that way. The trash site was just back down to the main road. Our Church was only 3 miles away. Can't think we were mssing anything. We plan to come back. My family of 7 adults and 3 children were comfy in our beds. Can't wait to go back and explore further up the trails.

We just got back last night from 5 days at this wonderful cabin. We wanted for nothing (except a king-sized bed). I can't say enough good things about how clean and modern everything was. All new appliances, and everything bright and fresh. The street is quiet and beautiful. The owners are really helpful and very considerate of their guests. They left a box of chocolates and 2 bottles of Martinelli's for our arrival! We won't look for other cabins in Big Bear unless we have more people and need another one. The teenage girls had their own room downstairs where they could close the door and play guitars and go on their computers with the excellent wifi. They also enjoyed coming into the living room to watch movies by the fire with my husband and I. One of the upstairs bedrooms has enough beds for 5 teenagers, so the 3 we brought had lots of space for bedtime too! Best of all they loved going out in the back yard and sledding down the hills. My little dog was in heaven. Who knew he was a snow dog? I loved taking him for walks after dark under all those stars in the crisp quite mountain air. It was so nice not to have to bring ANYTHING but groceries. I have stayed in places where we had to make our own beds when we got there. Seems like a small thing, but you are tired after traveling and on vacation after all. This cabin has everything for you. Not just made beds. Fluffy white towels and soaps and shampoo. Upper Moonridge is my favorite spot in Big Bear. Very secluded yet right at the bottom of the hill are good shopping centers. The hill this cabin is on had snow longer than lots of the other streets. The altitude and direction of the sun gave us many days of snow long after it was gone elsewhere. I can't wait to go back! I feel so lucky to have found this cabin. I have paid a lot more for a lot less. Good experiences with VRBO.

Nice place, very clean and good location. My group was 6 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of room for everyone. It snowed while we were here and it made for a perfect white Christmas.

We had a great time at your cabin. We had everything that we needed. The weather was beautiful and we had a wonderful Thanksgiving in the mountains. Hiking trails were very convenient and we enjoyed the zoo nearby, as well. We saw the Tree Lighting Ceremony in The Village which was a short drive away. We were able to use the internet and watch movies during our downtime. Would love to return. Great location.

An awesome retreat with great views. If you're looking to get off the beaten path for a bit, this is the place to do it. The house has plenty of space as is stocked with everything you'll need. You're close enough and far away enough from town and you're right on a trail head of you want to hike. Highly recommend!!

This was a perfect retreat from the city. I loved watching people ski right out the front window & being so close to the slopes was great. We used the kitchen which had everything we needed, the sleeping & beds were great. No need to shop for other places, this one works perfect. we'll be back FO SHO!

We had a great time at this cabin. Got there just in time for a storm that dumped 2 ft of fresh snow. Cabin was clean and well stocked with everything needed for a nice weekend stay. We had a blast playing in the snow behind the cabin, very convenient. We plan to stay here again. Thank you.

The cabin is described exactly as is. The facility was clean cozy and and a great value. I highly recommend for a snow boarding trip or just a get away weekend to relax or have fun with some friends. The property owner is accommodating and friendly, I highly reccommend.

So we have been going to Big Bear for the last 6 years (always during the winter). I ALWAYS had complaints about the previous places that I have stayed (usually because of cleanliness) until I found this place! It was clean, great private location and supplied everything you could possibly need. There are great trails to take long walks with your family and dog. I will definitely be back. I won't stay anywhere else! Jesse the owner was great to deal with. We arrived and there were wine and chocolates on the table....just like a 5 star resort....amazing!

Very clean and cozy cabin. Lots of space and sleeping areas. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything you could possibly need. Close to Bear Mountain ski area and grocery stores. The owners were very nice and answered questions I had once I checked in. It was a short visit, but I would definitely recommend it!!.

All the reviews I had read regarding the cabin were so great, I thought I might be let down when we arrived from having such high expectations. I'm happy to report that was not the case! The cabin was perfect. It's in a great location with tons of snowy hills for sledding right in the backyard. The cabin is well stocked and there were so many thoughtful details that it made it feel very much like a home away from home. We had children from ages 1-10 and the house was totally kid friendly. We will definitely be booking again next year! Thank you Jesse.

Our family stayed at Jesse's cabin for our winter break and we were very pleased with the property and location. My boys 8 and 11 loved sledding down the hills behind the property and playing in the snow play area which was nice and private. The cabin was very comfortable and met our needs perfectly. Jesse was wonderful at keeping in contact and ensuring our stay was enjoyable. We will definitely visit again!!

Just spent a week at this fantastic cabin. All the previous reviews have described the place to a "T". We were very fortunate to find such a great place that also allows pets. We were able to bring our dog with us for the week which made the stay that much more enjoyable. We were lucky enough to get dumped on with snow. Fortunately, the owner has shovels, ice scrapers and salt for the driveway all at the ready. Don't waste your time looking for other places to stay. Do yourself a favor and contact Jesse right now to schedule your next getaway.

Perfect for Families!

My family of six (7,5,3,1) had the recent opportunity for a last minute get-a-way to Big Bear on Feb 7-9, 2012. The owners were great to deal with, and even allowed us the option to check in early and check out late. The place is located on a private drive, not far from the main Big Bear Blvd. After getting into the cabin, and turning on the heaters, the place warmed up quite nicely. My kids had a blast staying altogether in one room, which had a bunk, trundle, and double. The place was very cozy, clean, and also outfitted nicely. We enjoyed the fireplace every night. Out back is a nice hill area for sledding and snow play. Unfortunately, there wasn't too much snow, but everyone still had a lot of fun! The place was accurately listed and described online, and when we have a chance to go back to Big Bear, we would happily stay there again. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We had a great time. Cabin was very clean since we have small kids and my big concern. Owner was great when we called he took care of any issues asap! Girls loved the bunk beds and 2 tvs. Kitchen was great and just right. Great location just wish we had some snow:( Next time better planning:) We will come visit again! Thank you!

This was our first trip to Big Bear and we were excited to find this cabin that was reasonably priced, and kid friendly. Plus the owner was very kind and prompt to all my emails and questions. It is so close to Bear Mountain, a few twists and turns in the neighborhood onto the main street and you are there. The living room right off the front door is great for storing all your gear and our kids had a blast in the backyard on the sledding hill. The cabin was fully stocked with everything we could need. Thanks for the memories at your cabin.

Amazing cabin for a group snowboarding trip!

I went to this cabin for a mid-week snowboarding trip, and everything about it was great! It's a really short drive from Bear Mountain (<10 minutes, easily) and there was more than enough space for the six of us to sleep comfortably. That's pretty much all we were looking for, yet we got much more from this cabin! There's two HDTVs with blu-ray players, a fully stocked kitchen, and a great view from the balcony. The owner was great with answering our questions, and was very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great snowboarding trip. The only thing I should note is that it's a good idea to bring food. We had trouble finding places to eat open past 8 or 9 o'clock. However, there's a market not far away that we went to for groceries. Anyway, we had a great vacation here, and I can't recommend this cabin enough!

Amazing Experience

Our family comes to Big Bear every winter, this was the best stay we ever had. The cabin is just amazing, it has everything you will need. From kitchen supplies, slides, towels, laundry, shampoo & conditioner and even paper products (even to go coffee cups). The master bedroom has an amazing view of the National Forest. The backyard is the perfect place for hiking and sliding. We spent a whole day in the backyard. The property was very clean and the owner is extremely helpful. Soon after check-in, sent me an email to ensure everything is fine and if we need anything else. Responds to calls/text within minutes. I would defiantly come back next year and highly recommend it.

Excellent Snow Cabin!!

This cabin is awesome. It was perfect for what we needed, a home base for our snowboarding trip. This place is clean and Jesse is quite accommodating. There were enough beds for everyone and then some. We had a total of seven guys staying there and it actually had more room than what we needed. The location was great, very close to Bear Mountain, but it felt like it was in the back country. The area in which the cabin is located is quiet and the neighbors are cool. This was an overall great experience and we will most definitely be staying here again. Thanks Jesse!

AMAZING CABIN RENTAL EXPERIENCE

This cabin really is the perfect cozy cabin experience in Big Bear. Everything you need is right there from towels, to sheets, to anything you could imagine you would need to cook with in the kitchen, to a game cube for the kiddos and netflix for the whole family. The decks have an amazing view and you can throw the kids outside in the back and watch them play in the snow as you relax on the deck taking in the breathtaking views. The owners of the cabin were extremely easy to deal with and were very good at making sure everything was okay and we were happy before, during and after our stay. I can honestly say that this will definitely be the only place we stay at in Big Bear from here out. We had plans to go to Apline Slides one day, but with the snow area in the backyard we never had to leave. This cabin is in an ideal location far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough that you can go back and forth without much hassle. This cabin definitely made me want one of my own, EXACTLY like it!

This cabin was perfect for my group of 7. The TVs and internet access were important features for us and appreciated very much. The beds were comfortable and warm, and heating was very adequate throughout the house. The fireplace is really nice and centrally located. We cooked dinner all 3 nights of our stay and found everything needed for cooking and serving meals.The space was adequate for all of us and very user friendly. Both bathrooms were very clean and updated. The location is very nice, close to Bear Mountain and about 5 minutes from the Village. Nice treetop view off the back deck. Best of all, Jesse the owner made sure everything was taken care of and checked in with us at the start and end of our stay. The owners have upgraded much of the interior and really showed us a personal touch in making sure we were enjoying our stay in their home. Highly recommended for a family vacation!

This cabin has to be one of the best we have stayed in up here. Jesse has done an amazing job making this cabin very comfortable and homey. The beds are super comfortable, more than I can say for most up here in Big Bear. Amazing location, a bit secluded which helps to make you feel as though your on a nice quiet vacation but close enough to the city, slopes and lake. Right at the end of the block are trails and we took an amazing hike along with fun sledding hills in the summer. The kitchen was fully stocked with all necessary pots and pans and utensils. There were five of us and we had plenty of space. Thanks so much for your hospitality and we look forward to staying again.
