This cottage-style inn provides guests with a boutique hotel experience amid Southern charms like majestic Oak trees, starry nights, beautiful sunsets and waterfront views.
As guests at The Nest,
you can enjoy this unique location relaxing on the beach, going for a kayak ride and playing a game of bocce ball. Or you can even enjoy an afternoon beverage while watching the sunset or spending some time with other guests around the beach firepit.
Beach chairs, umbrellas, Adirondack chairs on your porch and a grilling area will be provided for your enjoyment. The large deck on the lake is covered by the shade of a beautiful Oak and connects to The Nest’s private dock.
Kayaks are complimentary for our guests. Boat rental can be arranged and there are two boat ramps on the lake for your convenience. Arrangements can be made for anchoring your boat and storing your trailer, just call for reservations.

About the owner: Our History In the 1940s, a prominent Ocala horse breeder built his summer home on Lake Weir. He enjoyed it for a few years before selling it to a couple from the frozen north climate. They built 2 cozy duplex cottages and called it “Wampler’s Lake Weir Lodge.” In 1950 the property was sold to Arthur & Marge Peacock, Miami natives who owned a horse and cattle ranch in Ocala. They added another duplex to the property and created “Peacock’s Motel.” The beautiful oak trees that line the drive were actually dug up from the Ocala National Forest and brought here by Arthur and his daughter, Barbara. At the time, in 1951, they were just scrawny four-foot saplings. The Lake Weir escape so captivated one group of visitors from Miami that they became the property’s fourth owners in the mid 1970’s. They created “Moeller’s Cottages” and operated the location until 1998. That brings us to The Nest... our dream. With our own style, we have restored and refreshed the entire property. We think those who have loved this lakefront property before would approve, as it has been “re-hatched” with passion and love. The dream continues as we share in God’s beauty and nature with you.
