My partner and I arrived in the evening of the 24th and were immediately enchanted by the property. Well maintained, the property is obviously cared for by loving hands. Agnes was attentive without being intrusive, she respected our desire for seclusion. The rental is filled with charm and detail, we enjoyed comparing it to our farmhouse though this propery was old by twice the age! Comfy beds, delightful antiques, scenic landscaping and the animals were friendly. Close to several attractions, we were able to have meals in town or use the well stock kitchen. Eventhough the trip was short (quick trip to visit the Poe Museum!) we enjoyed our time in the home and look forward to visiting it again... preferably longer next time.Owner response: THANK YOU VERY MUCH Agnes

Our stay at Traveler's Rest was delightful. The house is lovely and commodious, providing everything one needs for a restful stay or a jumping off point for the best Virginia has to offer. The owners couldn't have been nicer and it was a pleasure to meet them. The decor and grounds of the cottage were beautiful and peaceful. Although the location is rural (hence the beauty and peace), it was within easy driving distance of many must-see places, such as Monticello, Montpelier, and Mount Vernon. Returning to the cottage after these adventures made us feel like we were living a part of the history we had come to see. We highly recommend this unique and special property.Owner response: It is wonderful meeting so many nice people, who are visiting our little peaceful place out of so many different reasons,

I can't say enough about this property, the owners and thier family.. the gorgeous landscape and the horses .. We took a riding lesson and it was SO much fun, It was absolutely a little heaven on earth .. PERFECT place for a outdoor wedding or function, Agnes has an amazing floral business right on site, with a class if you'd like to take one and she also offers horseback riding lessons, which we did .. and I couldn't be happier !! Wonderful experience, the owners daughter Charlotte also spent time with us during our lessons and she's just adorable !! We will definitely be back .. Thanks again !!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
