This cottage was in a great location. We went to ski Beech Mtn, so the cabin was located in a great proximity to that and town. You do need a 4x4 to get into the driveway if you go in the winter. Also, even though this cabin sleeps 4, it is best suited to a family with children rather than 2 couples.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children.

My family had a wonderful time on Beech Mountain and loved staying in the South Beech cabin. It is very cozy and was perfect for our family of 4. We were lucky to have 6 inches of snow while there and I would definitely recommend 4 wheel drive for winter visits. Easy drive to Beech mountain- one mile- as well as Sugar Mountain. We skiied at both and had a fun family night tubing at Sugar as well. Kerin was very accessible and easy to work with. We hope to return again next winter for another long winter weekend!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had an amazing time at South Beech. We stayed for a week for our honeymoon and it was wonderful. The place was exactly how it was described and everything was nice and clean. We had a great time staying in the cabin on the days we were not skiing or out and about. The hot tub was also a great thing to have there. The owner was right in seeing deer in the back yard. We saw them three days or so. Where the cabin is sitting is a great location. Even with other cabins nearby you would never know it. The back porch looks over the mountain and has great views. It snowed the last of the week which made for great skiing and beautiful views. One day was raining and we spent some of the day in the cabin watching movies and relaxing. The owners were very nice and easy to work with and were willing to help us all they could. The cabin was close to everything that we needed and was very easy to get around to the local towns and ski areas. We ended up skiing at Beech Mountain and ate at the Bayou. (Should really go there - great food and people). We are already wanting to plan another vacation to the cabin again. We were not disappointed. I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a nice relaxing stay in a beautiful area. Thank you again for a great honeymoon stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

Even only staying two days, we fell in love with this property. It was unseasonably warm during our stay, but it was beautiful nonetheless. The view was amazing, and the property was close to everything that we needed to get to. We didn't have any problems whatsoever. This was our first trip together, and it was far beyond what we expected. There was plenty of room for more than just the two of us, and we cannot wait to come back! The listing was completely accurate and the description was spot on. The property was extremely clean and the owner kept in contact and helped answer all of our questions. Being our first trip by ourselves, the process was much easier than imagined. We ended up skiing at Ski Beech, which is very close to the property, and enjoyed a little Italian restaurant called Bella's nearby. The property was perfect for our stay, but a girls weekend with friends, a double couple weekend, or a family with kids could stay at this property as well. We will definitely be returning, and we are already trying to plan when! I highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We are so happy we stumbled upon the listing for this cute little cottage in the midst of all the condo listings around the area. The house couldn't be more perfect. Everything about it was cozy and comfortable and it is perfectly situated between Beech and Sugar Mountains. It was a short drive to both...and good restaurants nearby, though we shopped brought groceries and cooked and stayed in most of the time. You are close to the highway, but off the highway so you don't hear traffic going by. We arrived right after a snow storm so it was beautiful. We skied Beech Mountain one day and then decided to stay in the next as it started snowing the night before and kept snowing all day! It was beautiful and peaceful! We just hid out all day and it was wonderful....a nice little trip away from young kids. We sat in the hot tub while it snowed, watched movie after movie on HBO (thank you for having HBO) sipping hot chocolate, and read, talked....just enjoyed a nice time away! I hear there is lots to see in the area, but we saved it for another trip! We are looking forward to returning soon. The owner has been so helpful and given us so much good information. She makes the summers sounds great and we plan to bring the kids back this summer. She recommended Ski Shack for ski rentals and they were great. $10/day, can't beat that and no lines. We keep talking about our trip and can't wait to go back. We recommend this house to anyone for a romantic getaway or a family with kids or two couples. You will love it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We brought in the New Year in the South Beech cabin. It is the perfect location in Banner Elk, nestled in the woods, between Ski Sugar and Beech Mountain, easy access between both ski areas, and amenities. An unexpected treat is that we could see the slopes at Sugar and got to view New Year's Eve fireworks at Sugar Ski Mountain right from the deck of the cabin! The Cabin is clean, well-maintained with cozy bear-motif that is warm & inviting. We enjoyed sledding in the yard, tromping around in the snow and relaxing in front of the warm fire place-it was perfect for our family. The owner, Kerin, is so helpful to work with; she helped make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We would highly recommend this South Beech Cabin to those seeking a romantic get-away or to families with children. The Cabin was even nicer in person and the location was perfect. No matter what kind of a vacation you are looking for, you will find it at South Beech. The owners are very kind and accommodating. I was sick on the trip and the owners checked on me multiple times to see how I was and if there was anything that they could do. I will definitely be returning!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I (and our two dogs) enjoyed our stay at Beech Mountain. Although the weather was very snowy and windy when we arrived, the owner was easy to get in contact with when the snow covered the driveway to the point where we could not find it! The house is clean and well stocked with necessities. Since it was snowing, the shovel and ice salt on the porch was much needed. The fireplace was particularly cozy and we enjoyed the local restaurants. We hope to visit again soon...when the snow melts.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This cabin is the PERFECT location! Not to far from downtown Banner Elk (5min) 15-20min from Boone...and maybe 8min from Beech Mountain Ski Resort. We spent a lot of time driving around and sight seeing so being in the middle of both sides to the mountain was a HUGE plus. Cabin was cozy and warm, very well lit and we loved how secluded it felt. Everything went perfect and the family we rented from was very helpful with information when it came to dealing with snow and ice, since we are Floridians and knew NOTHING ABOUT IT! Very easy to talk to and we always felt like we were in good hands even though we knew no one in the area. The family did know locals so that was very reassuring. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is one of the nicest cabins I have ever rented. The place was in fantastic shape, and pristinely clean. The owner was very accomodating making my birthday weekend trip a wonderful event. This cabin is close to Boone and Blowing Rock, both of which we visited. And, as promised, we had a nightly visit from the deer. You can't go wrong renting this place. I hope to come back again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway.
