Immerse yourself in the History and Culture that is Paris' Chic Latin Quarter, while staying in the oh-so-Parisian, but Modern Tournelle, 1 bedroom apartment--a Peaceful Haven steps from the Seine, Îls Saint-Louis, Notre Dâme, Île de la Cité, and St Germain.
Your Parisian Chez-Vous is located on the famous Rue du Cardinal Lemoine, which is crossed by the Blvd St Germain, and ends on the Quai de la Tournelle, along the Seine and the Îls Saint-Louis. The Rue du Cardinal Lemoine is one of the oldest streets in Paris, and an ancient Roman thoroughfare directly to the Seine and the Île Saint-Louis--off the Quai de la Tournelle, Pont de la Tournelle, and across the street from one of the most celebrated French restaurants, La Tour d'Argent . The Sorbonne University, the cradle of the glorification of intellectual and artistic pursuit in France, is up the street, with its imposing statue laden facade.
You'll have amazing views, just steps from the apartment's entrance, of the Seine and Notre Dame Cathedral, the Soul of Paris, located on the Ile de la Cite (the 1,000 year old, original city of Paris). You can also head to the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Place St Michel, the Blvd St Germain, Rue Buci, with it's markets, restaurants, and Jazz clubs, the Place de l'Odéon, Rue Mouffetard--with it's markets, countless cafes and restaurants, the Cluny Museum and the amazing Jardin des Plantes.
The apartment is surrounded by all central Metro stops, buses and RER stations (which will whisk you to and from the airport with ease).
You'll enter this early 17th century building, through the amazing, and historically protected front entrance, with security code, and then through another locked door, before taking the modern and spacious elevator up the 3rd floor (US 4th), while imagining the famous, and not so famous intellectuals, liberal thinkers and artists that have frequented this dwelling for many hundreds of years before you.
You'll enter the spacious and bright, 400 square foot apartment, that has been completely renovated, without loosing its heart and soul in the process. There are 2 large windows in the main room, a fireplace, original parquet floors, and original ceiling moldings. The windows look out on a quiet courtyard--no street noises, allowing you to recharge your batteries after a busy day seeing the sites.
The furnishings are modern, warm, with personal, artistic touches. There's a convertible sofa bed (for guests), desk for preparing your postcards for envious friends and family back home, a spacious dining area, and all the modern amenities : flat screen TV, DVD multi-zone player (you can bring some from home), Broadband Internet with WIFI available, and telephone with Free International calls.
The kitchen, off the dining area, is fully equipped to prepare your own Tour d'Argent inspired meals, with original tomettes (terra cotta) floor tiles, a convection oven, 2 modern burners, dishwasher, coffee maker, electric kettle and all the necessary utensils.
You'll then head down the hall, arriving first at the bathroom, again with original terra cotta floor tiles, a modern sink, heated towel rack, Italian style walk in shower, with rain style shower head, modern slim fit water heater, and a washing machine ingeniously dissimulated in the floor to ceiling storage closet.
The bedroom is next, with a Queen bed, there's a sitting area with writing desk and chair. There's a large, mirrored closet, the entire length of the opposite wall, which has plenty of storage space for the numerous purchases you'll make during your shopping spree in the boutiques on the Blvd St Germain!
You'll feel like honorary Parisians as you become a regular in the cafés along Blvd St Germain, and stroll through the most sought after and admired neighborhoods in all of Paris, the Heart & Soul of Paris--Le Quartier Latin, Îls Saint-Louis and Île de la Cité!
Keywords: Heart of St. Germian, Latin Quarter, across from Îls St. Louis, minutes from Notre Dame, Odeon, St Germain--Paris quoi!
