About this property

Angler's Cove - Family Friendly Lakefront Cottage

Located in the center of the highly desired Halfmoon chain of lakes in the Pinckney Recreation Area, Angler's Cove is the perfect choice for those looking for a private piece of lakefront to swim, ski, fish and enjoy the thousands of acres of State forest land this area has to offer. The cottage sits on Round Lake, which is a small, quiet, no-wake lake connected to seven all sports lakes by navigable channels. The location is quiet, peaceful and safe for kids because there is no high speed boats or noisy jet skis flying by. Yet high speed boating is just a few hundred yards away. Connected lakes include Halfmoon Lake with a public swimming beach and boat launch, Bruin Lake which hosts a state park camp ground, Patterson Lake and Hi-land Lake located in Hell, Mi. Why rent a cottage on a lake where you drive in circles all day? Instead come explore the Halfmoon Chain of lakes and boat for hours and never pass the same shoreline. The deep lakes offer wonderful swimming, boating and fishing opportunities. Over half the shoreline of this chain is owned by the State of Michigan, making these lakes much less developed than other lakes in Southern Michigan. The natural beauty and scenery rivals that of Northern Michigan (without the drive).

Cottage includes central air conditioning, screen porch, flat screen smart tv, wireless internet, full size, fully equipped modern kitchen with dishwasher and ice maker. Both bedrooms have a quality queen size bed and the kids will love their private sleeping/quiet space in the loft (you'll love it too). Two bathrooms. Linens and towels provided.

The Pinckney State Recreation Area encompasses thousands of acres of pristine forest land and many hiking/biking trails open to the public. The trails offer some of the best hiking, cross country skiing, mountain biking and hunting in the state of Michigan.

Enjoy a swim in the clean water, sunbathe or play with the kids on the sandy beach or yard or take a ride in the paddle boat or kayaks (provided). The dock has plenty of space to park your boat and there is hundreds of acres of water to explore. Pontoon boat rental available.

In the evening, warm to a campfire as you gaze at the stars, sit in the screened-in porch, visit a local pub in Hell, MI just 10 minutes away or explore the city of Ann Arbor just 30 miles to the Southeast. The towns of Chelsea, Dexter and Pinckney are all within 15 minutes.

Starting Memorial Day Weekend and before Labor Day Weekend requires a minimum 7 night stay. Check in Saturday at 3:00 pm, check out Saturday at 11:00 am.

The Round Lake cottage community hasn't changed much in decades. You will enjoy the nostalgic feel of this vacation community in the heart of the chain of lakes.

Cozy,Clean Cottage
We had a wonderful visit to this sweet little cottage. The property was beautiful and the hosts supplied kayaks, a paddle boat and a pontoon boat for an extra charge. We had plenty of comfortable chairs for visiting family. The inside was extremely clean and well stocked. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. And, most of all the hosts were gracious, attentive to our needs and just great folks all around. I highly recommend staying here. We loved it!!!

Great!
We had a wonderful time at this property. The owners are very nice and accommodating, and went above and beyond when a storm knocked the power out in the area. We took the pontoon out to a sandbar everyday to laze the day away floating in the water. Fishing in the lake was good, we caught mostly largemouth bass and blugills, and a few perch. This is a great space to relax and enjoy the outdoors!

Like summer camp, but with wi-fi and central air-conditioning!
We had a fun time at this cottage on Round Lake and enjoyed exploring the rest of the Halfmoon Chain in the rented pontoon boat. (Fishing was so-so, some bass and a pike, plus panfish caught using bait.) The cottage is cozy, so best for family (or longtime friends) who don't need a lot of privacy. The kitchen is well supplied with dishes, utensils and cookware, and we appreciated the dishwasher which is cleverly built into the island. The property was not as quiet as we had hoped, mostly due to neighbors shouting at their yappy dogs (and a deck construction project next door which is now finished), but the setting is amazing. So beautiful to cruise in the pontoon boat along the undeveloped lakeshore (state land) and see herons and osprey. For a fun excursion, you can go have dinner in Hell (Michigan), right down the road. Pastries from the Pinckney Bakery are also a must! We can't say enough about the kindness and friendliness of the owners. We experienced an overnight power outage (due to strong storms in the area) and Bill was right there with a generator to rescue our vacation the next morning. Once you leave the pavement and head down the gravel road to the cottage, you won't want to leave!
