Enjoy your holidays at this modern and comfortable flat featured in the New York Times Travel section and New York Magazine!

Inside the flat: This flat is equipped with a microwave, oven and hob/stove, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, TV/VCR, wireless DSL, and power shower. The flat rental includes all linens, towels, and cutlery. Also included are free phone calls from the flat to the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe, so you can call your family and friends at home, or make additional travel plans for free from the flat.

The location: The flat is conveniently located just across the street from the Tower of London and next to the beautiful and historic Trinity Square Gardens. Just a minute's walk from the Tower Hill tube stop, and approximately three minutes from the Tower Gateway DLR, you'll find this flat the ideal London base from which to explore London!

Local Attractions: Many points of historic interest, including the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the Roman Wall(s). Also located in 'The City' or financial district, so the area is considered very safe, even for walking around late at night. Due to the flat's proximity to the tube station (and being within Zone One and on the Circle and District Lines), you can hop on and quickly be near any major attraction in central London: Buckingham Palace, Churchill's War Rooms, Whitehall, Parliament, Big Ben, Kensington Palace.

Just across the street, in addition to the Tower of London, is All Hallows by the Tower, a 1,500 year old church that has import for American as well as British history – William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, was baptized in the church as an infant, and John Quincy Adams, America’s 6th President and son of John Adams, America’s 2nd President, was married there in 1797. Tours of the church, offered free of charge, reveal among other things a 2,000 year old Roman road, part of the ancient Roman city of "Londinium", which ran underneath the present church site.

There are many pubs and restaurants within a one or two minute walk. The Hung, Drawn and Quartered Pub is just across Great Tower Street next to All Hallows (church). If that one doesn't appeal, there are three other British pubs, a French restaurant (Chez Gerard), a Spanish restaurant, an Asian noodle place and a pizza/pasta restaurant all within a lazy 1-2 minute walk. If you're willing to walk a bit further, you will find a seemingly endless supply of restaurants.

One not to miss is Dickens Inn (a former hanging ground for pirates) at St Katherine's Docks, London's best-kept secret! The docks also host a small marina and many quaint cafes, shops and restaurants of all price ranges.

If you choose to walk east about 10-15 minutes, you'll find yourself in London's East End, and perhaps at Brick Lane which is famous for its excellent Indian food! I highly recommend the Jack the Ripper Walking Tour of the East End, held at night and starting from the Tower Hill tube, just about a minute (if that) from the flat.

Also nearby (meaning under 15 minute walk) is St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, The City (financial district), St Katherine's Dock, Shad Thames (riverwalk area with more restaurants and pubs), Sir Francis Drake's ship the Golden Hinde, the HMS Belfast, the London Bridge, Southward Cathedral (at the south end of London Bridge), Millenium Bridge, the Globe Theatre, Tate Modern Museum, etc.

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre is a pleasant walk across either Millenium Bridge or London Bridge near Vinopolis, a wine museum with a lovely restaurant with wine tasting. (The theatre and restaurant are ideal for a unique dinner and show experience as part of a memorable and romantic evening.)

Sleeping Arrangements: This flat is perfect for a single, couple, or small family. There is a UK Double bed upstairs (approximately the same as a US Queen) (see photo). There is also a very large and comfy sofa which is six foot two inches between the armrests and which makes up nicely into a twin bed if desired. In addition there is a US Queen sized Aero-Bed mattress available for guests' use. (However, I need to say that the 5 person maximum usually means 2 parents and 3 small kids [and even then its tight] - the flat is just too small to be used by 5 adults.)

Generally speaking, I have a 4 night minimum - it simply isn't economical for me to do short stays. The only exception is if I happen to have 2-3 days that are left available between two longer stays - in that case I might consider renting for 2-3 nights. Check my availability calendar to see what the availability is.

We had a fantastic week-long holiday at Paul's flat. The location is ideal, so close to the Tower and the Tower Hill tube stop. There were only 2 of us so there was plenty of room. Many previous guests have left guidebooks and maps which help in your planning. Make sure you get an "Oyster" card for the tube and bus fares. We plan to go back and stay there again!

The Slater Family

"Said Cheers to the Queen of England!" Our family of 3 adults and 2 teenagers spent 3 nights at Paul’s Trinity apartment in June. Cosy, if a little cramped for our large group, but it suited our needs perfectly as we took off early each morning after a filling, and inexpensive breakfast at the corner pub, and a pleasant short walk to the tube. We attend the Ceremony of the Keys, had a romantic evening walk down by the river, (it’s a relaxing, safe area), and even got a wave from the Queen of England. We returned one evening and noticed a Bentley parked outside Trinity House next door flying the Royal Standard. We where having a pleasant banter with the Bobbies milling about in the light drizzle when Queen Elizabeth and the Prince Consort came out, gave us a smile and drove off. We enjoyed returning to the peace of the neighborhood after our days in the hustle and bustle of the city, yet we remained in all that history right out the door. Paul was timely and polite with all correspondence. My only caution would be to those contemplating staying with small children. A comparison might be a (2 story) one room hotel in the States, privacy is not to be had. But if you just want an affordable place to crash after getting as much out of London as you can. This apartment has the right address.

We loved this apartment!

This apartment was just what we were looking for! My son and I visited London in May, 2011 and stayed at this apartment. We had never been to London before and wanted something in a good location and close to the tube. The apartment is stylish, comfortable, clean and well equipped. The apartment is in a secure building and we always felt safe in the building and neighborhood. After a long day of sightseeing, it was nice to have a place to come back to where we could lounge around and relax. Eating out all the time can get old no matter where you are, so being able to have food on hand was a big plus. Even though the apartment has a stove, I'm not one to cook when on vacation and the nearby Tesco had a nice selection of ready made sandwiches, salads, etc., in addition to the usual grocery store fare. For me, one of the best features of the apartment is the clothes washer. I expected the weather to be a bit warmer and didn't bring enough warm clothes, so it was nice to wash a few things that I could wear again. Being so close to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge was the icing on the cake. The views from the roof of the building are awesome. We took the tube everywhere and the Tower Hill tube station is just minutes away. It was a short ride on the tube to wherever we needed to go. I was apprehensive about renting an apartment, as I'd never done this before, but dealing with Paul was a pleasure. He was very thorough in explaining the process, always answered my e-mails/questions promptly and provided a wealth of information. We hope to go back to London and would definitely stay here again. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting London!

Authentic & Amazing!

Guest: Cheeky Lisa (Djibouti, Africa)
Date of Stay: 05/10/07 Review Submitted: 03/23/11

I stayed at Paul's flat in May of 2007; it was my very first trip to London, after a long tour in the Middle East. If you are visiting London for the 1st time or 10th and want an authentic English experience, this flat provides that and so much more! Everything posted in Paul's description is spot-on and I've broken down the 2 major categories from my perspective: Location: After 8 trips to London under my hat now, this is STILL the best and most memorable place I have ever stayed at. The Tower Hill Tube is literally next door - invest in an Oyster Card - it is pounds well spent as your balance leftover never expires. The Tower of London is across the street and who can beat a tasty croissant and cup of hot tea from Pret'A Manger right downstairs? Did I mention the pub downstairs too? (Kopparberg's Cider!) Fantastic atmosphere, and there's even a nicely manicured mini park just outside the stoop. I made quite a fool of myself walking barefoot in the grass my first day there. If you head down the street a bit, there is a Starbuck's and Tesco for your caffeine fix and groceries. We were able to cook while we were there, which saved a lot of $! The Flat: I simply did not want to leave. If I ever get the chance, Paul is going to sell me this flat - he just doesn't know it yet! It was the perfect size for myself and friend. The kitchen is more than well equipped with cookware, washer/dryer, etc. and there is also a great selection of music, DVD's and maps/quides that others have left for your use in the living area. (The photos really do not do Paul's flat justice.) The bed was heaven and I spent quite a bit of time sitting in the window at the foot of the bed, just listening to music and the sounds outside, writing in my journal. Not if, but WHEN you stay here - be sure to go upstairs to the rooftop and take in the beautiful view of the Tower Bridge! A hotel will not give you 1/4 of the experience and accomodations as Paul's flat. On a personal note: Paul, I want to thank you for making your flat available for others. It was my first experience in London and came at a time when I needed to relax, reflect and heal. To this day, I still smile when I think of my stay there. I cannot wait for a spot to open up so I can visit again. Cheers!

Perfect Post-Deployment Trip

Guest: Alison (DE)
Date of Stay: 11/07/10 Review Submitted: 12/16/10

We stayed in Trinity Square Flat in London in early November 2010 right after my deployment in Iraq, and it was a wonderful choice. We flew into Stansted and took a Terravision bus to Liverpool Street/Station. The apartment was less than a ten minute walk from there. We bought the London Pass - highly recommended for the unlimited travel alone. The closest station (Tower Hill) was literally a 30 second walk from the apartment. Words cannot express how excited I was with the location. The apartment is also in an affluent part of the city so no need to worry about running into a rough crowd. Walk just past Tower Bridge and you will find a dock area with a bunch of restaurants/bars - very nice. Also, the Jack the Ripper Tours start at Tower Hill Station; one . The apartment was perfect for my husband and I. If you see the picture of the loft containing the bed and are worried about it being too small/short - worry no more. My husband is 6'5 and had no problems. Having a washer/dryer and kitchen was very useful as well. I'm sure you know that London is quite expensive so we mostly lived off groceries (instead of going out) while we were there. The free calling to the States was nice (won't get that in a hotel!). Also, there was a plethora of London guide books in the apartment in addition to the "Guide to Trinity Square Flat" containing nearby restaurants, grocery stores, historical locations, etc. Don't forget to go to the roof of the building for great views of Tower Bridge! Definitely recommend!

A wonderful “home base” for our stay in London.

Guest: DadInASuitcase (Los Angeles, CA)
Date of Stay: 11/21/10 Review Submitted: 12/11/10

As described in the listing, the location is just moments away from the Tower of London and the Tower Hill tube station. The neighborhood is busy during the day, and is quiet in the evening without feeling “deserted.” The building itself felt safe, and was clean and quiet; and the lift was larger than many European hotel elevators. The flat has two levels, and the layout maximizes the space. There was a good amount of natural light from the windows, and nice blinds for privacy. From an American perspective it might seem small for an apartment, but it’s bigger and has much more of a “home” feel than any hotel I’ve stayed at in London. The loft bed upstairs has its own little nook, with the bathroom on the opposite side of the upper floor. The kids slept downstairs with no problems, and found the inflatable bed to be very comfortable. The integrated air pump in the bed made inflating/deflating it a simple task. Being able to cook meals at the flat saved us from eating out every meal. In addition to the nice quality pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc., the kitchen also had some cooking basics like salt and vegetable oil. There were several small appliances, including toaster, electric kettle and coffee maker, in addition to the larger appliances; and all were of the sort of quality you would have in your own home. The bonus of having a washer/dryer while we were there allowed us to pack light and avoid extra baggage fees. The free wi-fi was another huge bonus, letting me work from both my iPhone and laptop - especially considering other London hotels I’ve stayed at charge £12 per hour for internet access! Significantly, the owner of the flat, Paul, was always responsive to my emails, and was very easy to communicate with. He went over and above to make sure we had keys to the flat before we left for London. And if you do stay here, you must go up to the roof at least once. It’s an incredible view! Cons: The spiral staircase and three step “ladder” to the loft bed might be difficult for people who have trouble getting around. And if you have four people, you’ll probably want to deflate the air mattress if you’re going to have a sit down meal in the flat. Neither of these were concerns for us, though. Overall we the whole family loved staying here. I’d highly recommend Trinity Square Flat, and would definitely stay here again.

Excellent stay

I would stay here again without a doubt. --It is so tastefully decorated, is very comfortable and fashionable, and has all of the comforts of home--even down to very little details. Everything is nice quality (bedding, furniture, kitchen/appliances, bathroom, windows, decorations, etc.). --The owner goes out of his way to provide everything you need to navigate your stay, including finding grocery stores and restaurants, touring London;'s well known tourist spots and local secrets, etc. He even has print outs of his self-created walking tours! It was like having self-guided tour options all laid out for us and a concierge as well! He even has internet included. --Even though it is small, my husband and I and, believe it or not, 4 kids (infant, toddler, 9 and 11 year old) managed to squeeze in well. --The location was amazing. So much was right there, but the Underground station was a short block away and quickly took us anywhere in London. --The owner's communication skills are also excellent. He is so responsive to emails and phone calls. He provides tons of information, makes the booking process easy, sends keys to you in advance if possible. He was personable and made us feel trusting in the "deal"....that it was legitimate. --Would definitely stay here again.

A Great London Experience

Date of Stay: 05/28/10 Review Submitted: 08/31/10

In real estate, and I would submit in vacation rentals, it’s all about “location, location, location.” By that standard, Trinity Square Flat is as good as it gets! Essentially across the street from The Tower of London, yet nestled in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood, and convenient to excellent pubs and restaurants, that is Trinity Square Flat. The space is beautiful, clean, cozy and simply the perfect spot for a few days of enjoying the incredible city of London. I don’t know whether I‘ll have the joy of returning to London. However, I know that, if I do, my home base will once again be Trinity Square Flat! Mike in Winston-Salem

Great location, comfortable flat

Date of Stay: 02/22/07 Review Submitted: 08/28/10

I loved the location of this flat in the City of London where the contrast between the old and new is so interesting. There is an elevator to the front door of the flat, (no luggage lugging) which is on two levels. The spiral staircase to the sleeping area was easy to negotiate, the bed very comfortable with nice sheets, and the bathroom had a good shower. The kitchen was well-equipped which was important to me as I eat in a lot. Comfy couches make for good naps after a day of sightseeing. The tube was nearby and buses to the South Bank were great as I go to the National theater frequently. I visit London often, and this was one of the most pleasant visits. Also, you can get the boat to Greenwich nearby at the Tower, and many of the London Walks start in nearby locations. There is a Marks and Spencers nearby as well as other shops. While there are many office workers around during the day, it is splendidly quiet at night and on the weekends. I hope others enjoy their stay as much as I did.

Date of Stay: 01/27/10 Review Submitted: 01/27/10

For my mom's 65th birthday I wanted to do something really special. While in college, I spent a semester at the LSE. I fell in love with every nook and cranny. I even liked the Barbican. Without my mom's support and sacrifice I wouldn't have had such an incredible opportunity, so I decided to share the city I love with her. Now, there are three parts to picking where to stay in London. Price. Comfort. Location. You can have two of the three at any given time. YOU WILL NEVER GET ALL THREE. At least that is what I thought until a friend recommended Trinity Square Flat. For the same price as a night in an okay London hotel room in an okay location, I got a fabulous 2-level furnished apartment; complete with a modern kitchen, washer and dryer, tv, free internet and phone, ACROSS the street from the Tower of London. When my mom saw the historic building, her jaw literally dropped open. When we got inside the apartment, she smiled, her eyes sparkled, she looked and me and said, "I can't wait to tell Lynette. She is going to be so jealous!" Every morning we would either make our own breakfast or if we weren't in the mood, eat at the pub on the ground floor of the building. Then we'd walk across the street to people-watch at the Tower while we planned out our day. Or not plan it. You are so close to everything. Pick a direction. Start walking and you will find something(s) to entertain you in less than five mnutes. There's also a tube stop (Tower) just across the small but beautiful park. I can't say enough great things about Trinity Square. so I'll just leave you with what my mom said to me on the flight home. "Thank you honey for the trip of a lifetime."
