We had 3 generations at Life's a Beach for a family weekend celebration, and we all had a wonderful time! We enjoyed the great common space upstairs--the kitchen is well stocked & we enjoyed all our meals there. The family cooks found everything they needed and more. The house is beautifully decorated, but comfortable, and there were no worries with having small children there. Bedrooms downstairs were comfy and allowed for lots of privacy, and everyone had their own bathroom too. The little ones loved the bunk room! Access to the beach was easy, it's a short walk to town, and the views from the house are amazing! Be sure to bring your binoculars to watch the birds. We had one small maintenance problem when we arrived (smoke detectors beeping), but one call to Lee & it was quickly and efficiently taken care of. The owners were great to work with. Would love to take my family there again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

I set up a trip to the beach for my family each year and we've ended up gravitating to the Cannon Beach area. We usually stay at a different place each year but we liked this place so much the consensus was to rent it again next year. You couldn't ask for a better view of the beach and Haystack Rock, and beach access was easy. Being close to downtown Cannon Beach was also nice. Everyone liked the layout of the house and the bedrooms were comfy. It was also nice to have a garage to put the cars in and an extra refrigerator. My wife is an avid cook and appreciated the appliances in the kitchen. There isn't any bed on the main level except for a sleeper couch, so you'll need to be able to walk the stairs at least twice a day. My 93 year old grandma was able to do it, so it worked out for us. Although we didn't bring our dogs this time, it's nice to know it's an option at this house. We may bring them next year.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

Life's a Beach is a beautiful house for kicking back and enjoying a glass of wine with good friends. The view of Haystack was magnificent from the kitchen and living room. We were a minute from the sand and a short walk into town for shopping. The house was clean and well stocked with everything you might need. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of clean towels. Lee was great to deal with and available by phone and email for questions. We went into Cannon Beach for live theatre with our whole crew and saw a great play "Around the world in 80 days". It was hilarious - I highly recommend it and I highly recommend "Life's a Beach" we had a fantastic time and hope to make it an annual event.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Life's A Beach is an incredible home! It is well-appointed, has spectacular views and is spacious and comfortable. Every detail seems to have been attended to right down to bath towels with lighthouse appliques on them. There are no words or pictures to prepare you for the BREATHTAKING VIEW from this gorgeous home. It literally takes your breath away the moment you walk in, and it continues to do so for your entire stay!!! We had three generations on a very special trip to the Oregon Coast, and this house was more than we could have ever hoped for! Cannon Beach is one of my favorite places on earth, and this trip was all about sharing my love of the Oregon Coast with my kids, and I know in my heart they will never forget unlocking the door at Life's a Beach and looking out those windows for the first time at Haystack Rock!!! It was one of those moments I will never forget! We went on to stay at several places down the coast, but Life's a Beach was everyone's favorite house, and we cannot wait to come back. None of us wanted to leave!!! We cooked (the kitchen is amazing!), played games, loved watching the waves roll in, had a gorgeous sunset, the weather was FABULOUS, we just could not have asked for more!!! If our sweet dogs could contribute to this review, theirs would be 5 stars as well! They had the time of their lives down on the beach saying hi to a bunch of new friends! My college-aged daughters went running on the beach each morning and they loved the quaint shops downtown, my littlest one loved building sand castles and playing in the sand, and all of the kids, including my teenage son, LOVED the tidepools and exploring the rocks at low tide. Ecola State Park is a must visit as well! We have so many amazing pictures of starfish and all of the other incredible sights at Cannon Beach. Even prior to arriving at Cannon Beach a few miles out of town, we saw two different herds of elk! There were bald eagles out the window our whole stay as well, which we loved watching through our spotting scope. My son's favorite spot was the window seat! Thank you Lee, for sharing Life's a Beach with us. You were fabulous to work with. We all have memories of our Oregon Coast trip we will keep in our hearts forever!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The house was in excellent condition with everything in order. The owner was a real pleasure to work with, making every accommodation for us that she could. I would recommend this property to any one. It is the perfect location. We don't eat out much while there, but always enjoy the Lazy Susan when we do.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a wonderful place! I do not even know where to start.... right when you walk in the door you are awe struck by the view. Renting places online you never know if the view is what it seems to be -- however this view is even better in person. We had the worst weather while there. Rain and storm the whole time. That did not put a damper on the trip though since we were able to enjoy the ocean sounds and sights while cooking amazing comfort food in the best kitchen I have ever had at Canon beach. All the rooms where down stairs and all the living up stairs. We loved this set up so that people could turn in early or go down for quite time while un interrupted by the game playing and great times being had up stairs. We did not notice till the last day they have games there (we had brought our own knowing the weather would be bad) but under the counter you can find a great selection of board games. The beds were all great (even the bunk -- we only used the bottom though). There is a bathroom per bedroom was great. The house was clean and well decorated. All in all you can not ask for more. From start to finish Lee was fantastic to work with and we will defiantly be renting from him again! Thanks Life's a beach for an amazing weekend. We can not wait to go back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is the second time I've stayed at Life's a Beach and we'll likely be back again. You can't beat the view of Haystack Rock, the comfy beds and gourmet kitchen. It's a very short walk to the beach and you can walk the beach to town in about 15 minutes or so. We had a fairly large group, but everyone was comfortable and we all fit around the dining table at dinner. Everyone had a wonderful time and kept commenting about how much they liked the house and decor. I love Cannon Beach in the fall!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We have rented homes in Cannon Beach for the last five years and this one is the best "hands down". The view of Haystack Rock and the ocean could not have been better and the view is seen through panoramic windows on the entire first floor. The floor plan on the first floor is open and well designed with lots of seating for meals. The kitchen is large and well equipped. Perfect medium sized deck to eat or watch the sunsets. The lower floor bedrooms also have views and the laundry room is to die for! We had 4 adults and 2 kids. AND you can walk to town! Great place!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Just stayed 5 nights here for a family gathering and it couldn't have been more perfect. The view is amazing, the beach is plenty close and easy to get to, and the house and all the amenities were very well taken care of, comfortable and all-around beautiful. We really loved the woodwork on the furniture and the place was well decorated and laid out. Good communication from the owners. I'd highly recommend this one and would definitely stay here again if I were to stay in the area with a group of people again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay at Life's a Beach this spring. The home is beautiful and the view is outstanding. Fortunately, the weather was nice enough to be down on the beach, but we were still able to enjoy the great view of Haystack Rock while cooking, eating, puzzle building, and playing cards in the exceptional kitchen/great room! Will definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just stayed here in the month of March. The weather was cold, yes; but after heading out to the beautiful beach right in front of Haystack Rock, we would get back to our cozy house with all the fireplaces, and kick back and relax. This house is not right on the beach, it's true. But it is close enough that it didn't matter in the slightest. if you don't like climbing stairs it can be an issue, but there are probably only about 50-75 steps between this house and the beach. We never minded this in the slightest, and the better price for not being RIGHT on the beach was worth it. The view is absolutely gorgeous; we had full views of Haystack Rock and the entire beach, and that was actually helped that we were further up the side of the cliff. The inside of the house is great. The main floor consists of a gorgeous kitchen and living room, with the entire floor giving full views of the beach. There is a cute kitchen nook that has full windows, too. The furniture is tasteful and comfortable. We spent hours sitting in the main room in front of the fireplace reading or watching movies. The bedrooms were all comfortable as well. With the sound of the ocean pounding outside, I slept like a rock. And the bedding was all well done. Best thing about this house was that there was literally NO HASSLE. We checked in and got our keys from an office and it took about 1 minute. There were linens, towels, and soap provided at the house. We didn't have to try and wash all of the linens when we were done or make the beds; we literally just put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and started it, took out the garbage, and we were done. (This is different than some vrbo places, who basically charge who a cleaning fee and then still want you to clean the whole house when you are finished.) This house was excellent in that regard. When we checked out, we just dropped the keys off at the office (not even a mile away) and we were on our way. We took our two small dogs with us as well, and it was no problem. I felt like the pet fee charged was very reasonable. There is a nice little yard in the back where they can 'go'; and they loved romping on the beach. I highly recommend this place, and I would definitely go there again if given the chance.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

THE VIEW!!!! There isn't a bad view from anywhere in this house. Went for a girl’s weekend and boy did we have a good time. We loved hanging out in the fabulous kitchen area, which is open to the living room. Very easy access to the beach, I recommend you bring some rubber boots because they are pretty pricey if you want to buy them there. I would definitely stay here again. The owner is very easy to work with, no issues what so ever which was a relief after the issue with my last VRBO experience. You won't be disappointed here at all. I LOVE THIS HOUSE!!!! Side note: Take the train if you can and rent a car in Portland. Fun!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I hesitate to tell you how wonderful this home is, as it may become less and less available when I want to use it! However, my reservations about using vrbo were completely not an issue. The owner responded completely and timely to all of my questions. He is genuinely concerned that his property meet all of your expectations, and they exceeded mine! The home is layed out in a way to accomodate 2 families, or multi-generational travel. We went with Grandpa and Grandma and they were able to have their own bedroom and bathroom a little separate from us for some quiet. The house is stocked with everything, and I mean everything. (books, dvds, games...) The kitchen has ALL appliances (George Foreman, electric juicer...) ALL utensils, even items like a pastry cutter or nutmeg grater! Every pan and baking dish you could want. I wish my home kitchen was so stocked! But, the real reason to rent this home... the view! You walk into the home and it's like Haystack Rock greets you. It is beautiful and fun just in case the weather is so-so. Unlike some other beach homes, this one is NOT dated, in need of repair, or stocked with low quality items. It will compare with your own home. I guarantee, at some point on your vacation you will wish this was your home!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
