This is a beautiful house on a perfect lot that really offers all the best aspects of being on the lake. The views are absolutely awesome, and there is a great beach and plenty of lakefront, very close to the house. The whole lake experience is very integrated with the house and the outdoor living areas. Kayak use comes free with the house, and boats are available for rent close by.
The house itself has an open plan in the main room, with spectacular views from the kitchen, dining area, and couches. There is a large deck which feels very open to the lake and yard. One bedroom is at the back of the house and does not have a lake view. It has an ensuite bathroom with shower and bath. This is where the laundry is located as well. Both bedrooms have queen beds.
The second bedroom faces the lake directly and has a glorious view through the large sliding doors. There is nothing better than leaving the sliding door just slightly open so you can hear the lake lapping from the bed. It has the main bathroom beside it which is also accessible from the living room. The main bathroom has custom tile and decorative concrete counter tops. It can be closed off or opened up to provide a full lake view from the jacuzzi tub and rain head shower. (Don't worry - boaters can't see you - we have checked!)
The loft is small but cozy. It has two twin size mattresses that can be put together or kept apart. It is perfect for children or romantic couples. Access to the loft is via a ladder in the hallway so it is not perfect for older couples, or young children. The loft also has a sneaky view of the lake through a sliding window. Please refer to the pictures, the ceiling is low.
Inside the house there is a great stereo and flat screen TV, along with wireless internet. We do not have cable, but do have a smart TV with over 300 internet channels available. The kitchen is simple but well appointed. There is a great breakfast bar area along with a big farmhouse style dining table, all with great views of the lake.
Outside is where the place comes into it's own. The lake, dock, and sandy beach are just a few feet from the house. There is a great hammock out front as well. The beach area includes a stone patio and firepit, and we provide all the firewood that you will need for smores or drinks by the lake.

This was a spectacular vacation. The property was very nice and clean. The location was great, on the big water. Plenty of fun to be had!!! Definitely enjoyed the place.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This is a beautiful, comfortable location to relax and enjoy the lake and outdoors. We invited some family to join us and had plenty of room and seating. The accommodations are extremely comfortable, and the decor relaxing. The only drawback are that the steps are difficult for elderly to maneuver. We would recommend this location for either short or long vacations.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The house is immaculate. Tastefully decorated and appointed with a floor plan layout that is perfect for enjoying the provocative views of the beautiful lake. Amy is a wonderful and easy to work with landlord. We rented this home as a birthday getaway based on previous reviews and comments on how clean it was...I must say it is the cleanest place I have ever rented...cleaner than any hotel for sure ! Our expectations were met in every aspect as far as view, sunsets and peace and quiet. It truly was just the perfect place and the accomdations were top notch ! We will be repeat renters for sure ! We spent 3 nights in August at this place. It was wonderful. The pictures are right on, what you see is what you get. Beautiful lakefront spot. The sunsets and the moonlight on the lake is breathtaking. Amy was wonderful and easy to work with. My hus.band and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary and it was perfect. Our small dogs loved playing in the water and the firepit by lake was great We highly recommend this place and we definitely be back!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners.

This was our first vacation on Lake Wateree. We could not have picked a nicer place to stay! The home was equally impressive and comfortable. Being able to take my dogs along meant so much to me. Thank you Amy and George for being pet friendly!!! We have family in Sumter that visited one day and kayaked, fished, swam, played games, and cooked out with us. They too loved the house! Our daughters (ages 17 and 21) successfully completed the 500 piece puzzle provided for entertainment. We also enjoyed movies and music, and I appreciated the books and Bible provided. The master bath wowed us....it was truly unique! You can't beat the lake views this home boasts. We hope to return for another stay in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Excellent view pics serve no justice. The cleanest vacation rental I have ever stayed in. Compliments go the the decorator.My children loved the white beach and very clean swimming area. They also enjoyed the fit pit for smores in the afternoon . Netflix was great. Nothing tops the view from the house sitting on the couch through all the sliding doors, this view can be seen from the deck, the master suite, the living room as well as the pier.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The layout of the house was perfect for two couples, and our 5-year-old and 8-year-old loved the loft. The house was clean and updated, and the yard was nicely landscaped. The view of the lake from the deck and the beach are what you think of when you think of staying at a lake house. A great house, a great view, a great beach, and very accommodating homeowners. You really couldn't ask for a nicer weekend getaway to Lake Wateree.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

It had a beautiful view of the lake, it was so peaceful, alot of birds to watch ex. Bald Eagel, Hawks, Duck w/ babies etc. The home was very neat & clean, My husband did some fishing from the dock.We watch a bass tournament from Clearwater Cove Marina the son & daughter-in -law were very nice & helpful to us. Our 1year 5 months old Black Lab loved the lake, he was in the water almost everyday.My husband & I are building our retirement home here on Lake Wateree, so we hope others will come down and enjoy life here too.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

About the owner: We own an outdoor living company in Charlotte called The Stone Man. Our job is to create beautiful (mainly stone) outdoor living areas for homeowners. We both love the outdoors which is why Lake Wateree is so perfect for us, and our 2 dogs Molly and Pip. We have two small dogs that go everywhere wih us. They love the lake too!
Why the Owner Chose Lake Wateree:
We wanted a place where we could escape the traffic and hustle of the city, but not have to drive too far to get there. Lake Wateree is perfect as it is only an hour from our home in South Charlotte.
We enjoy the feeling of calm that we get as soon as we get down to the country roads and beautiful surroundings.
While we were dating we spent a lot of time at Lake Wateree so it is a special place for us.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
One of my favorite things to do is to get up early and sit outside with a cup of tea as the sun comes up. It comes up behind the house and lights up the shore on the other side of the lake first. It is a very peaceful time regardless of the time of year and a great time to see some wildlife. We have bald eagles, osprey, and lots of herons and smaller birds. There is also abundant fishing.
After a nice breakfast (preferably on the deck), I might take a kayak ride across the lake. It is undeveloped opposite our house, so is a great place for the kayak. If it is windy I might take out the sailboat, or perhaps go for a run or hike on the country roads.
Lunch is usually on the deck, and might be followed by a spell lazing on the floats in the water by the beach.
We make a habit to watch the sunset every night from the dock. It sets right in from of the house all year, and the colors on the water are spectacular.
Sometimes we will go into Camden for dinner, but just as often we will grill out on the deck so we can enjoy the lake some more.
