My husband and I enjoyed our time away from everything at the cabin. The place was just as described and photographed in the listing only better. The cabin was clean and had all the basics we needed for our stay. Sitting in rocking chairs on the cabin deck was one of our favorite spots. The fishing from the bank was disappointing but later after talking to someone at the marina we understood why. The TVA begins draining the lake late summer as part of their flood control of the area. We have definitely told others about this restful place and yet it is just a short drive from all the activities of nearby downtown Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. We enjoyed eating a several nice restaurants including Alamo, Applewood Grill, Ruby Tuesdays just to name a few. We even took a day trip to visit the Biltmore Estates in Asheville NC just 2 hours away and well worth the drive. We hope to return again and bring family with us.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The cabin was beautiful. We were not aware the lake was so low in December but a quick google on Tennessee valley authority , answered our questions. It would have been helpful to know this before booking the cabin. Also, the cabin cleaning instructions and trash removal were a put off. We paid a cabin cleaning and pet fee and still had to strip the beds and wash the dishes when we left. We are happy they allowed us to take our old English sheepdog on vacation though. The neighbors were as quiet as church mice. I think WE made more noise playing with our dog than they did.Recommended for: Pet owners.

We found the property easily and were very pleased with the house. The house was absolutely immaculately clean and looked like it had just been built! We enjoyed the fireplace, the hot tub and the fire pit in the backyard. I saw a review here where someone said that the houses were close together and that they were irritated by the voices of nearby neighbors. We found nothing of the kind. There are other houses in the area of course, but the property is still very private and we were very comfortable. I’ve stayed in a lot of lakeside/mountain cabins and this was by far the nicest property I have ever stayed in. The price was exceptional and we simply could not have had a better time. We would be very interested in coming back for another visit soon!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Just returned from "Away from it All". Lovely cabin, very clean and spacious! Peaceful and secluded, we noticed that there were neighbors, but never heard them, so not sure what the other tenant was complaining about. The Hot Tub is amazing. Dish Network was great and the WIFI was super fast. Quiet little town away from the tourist traps. Unfortunately the Lake Level was too low for my husband to fish, he did try with no luck, so if I knew this ahead of time, I don't think I would have booked this cabin. Also we were unable to get the DVD player to work, it seemed that TV was not recognizing the component. All in all very peaceful few days "away from it all" Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Loved the Large rooms and king size beds. Enjoyed sitting on the deck with the cool breezes. The water level too low to fish but had fun watching the birds. Stacie was very helpful and available for us. The amenities were just right and we had a wonderful experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: My husband and I bought this cabin in December of 2011. Douglas Lake is a perfect place to own, and we hope you enjoy the area as much as we do.
