We had a great stay in Tennessee while staying at the cabin for three nights. The cabin was very nice and clean. The rooms and bathrooms are very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub on the porch / deck area. Douglas lake was low due to the winter, but was suppose to rise over the next month. Everything needed for the trip was at the cabin.

First, in the pictures of the cabin it says "Lake Front"... When we arrived on Friday, there was no lake. It was drained down and the water was probably 200 yards away. We came prepared to fish being that it said "Lake Front" and being the one main reason we chose this cabin in particular, we were not happy. We brought a canoe with all fishing gear and many fishing poles. We literally had to drag the canoe down to the water because as I said before, there was NO lake. When I called the owner to find out why it was so low she said to me "Well, it is always like that in the winter months." Well since it is always like that in the winter months, maybe you should warn people before they rent this place. Second, check-in is at 4pm. We arrived at 4:30pm, and a gentleman pulled in behind us to work on the cabin. Apparently the water was not working properly and he had to fix it. I would think that if check-in for your guest is 4pm, you wouldn't wait until then to start working on the water. And when our friends arrived and tried to take showers that had lukewarm water all weekend, so really, the water wasn't fixed at all... Also, the hot tub was not filled up so the gentleman had to do that before he left which takes a while. So, the man probably didn't leave until close to 6pm or 6:30pm. Third, when we did get in the hot tub it was filthy. There was a green ring around the top from where the old water had been sitting in it and there were things floating in the water from the jets. We didn't stay in very long needless to say, it was very gross. I would not recommend this cabin during the winter months if you are wanting to fish or be outside. There are very steep hills and curvy roads to get anywhere. We didn’t mind the drive to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It was about 30-40 minutes but not bad. The inside of the cabin is nice, small but nice and I'm sure when there is a lake, it is beautiful. I just feel like we should have been told that the picture of the cabin was from summer time no year around... Major down fall. We did love that we could bring our dogs. And I guess the one good thing about the lake not being there is they had plenty of room to run and play. However, we will not be returning to this cabin.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at “away from it all”. The cabin is as pictured. Loved the fact we could bring our dogs. The cabin’s kitchen is well stocked! We loved the cabins location and it's close proximity to the surrounding area attractions in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We took many pet friendly hikes at the following locations. (Smokey Mountain National Park has 2 pet friendly trails at visitor centers) Seven Islands wildlife Refuge Panther Creek State Park House Mountain Natural Area Haw Ridge Park We enjoyed the hot tub especially soaking during the snow storm. The cabin has easy access and a large deck. We took a baby gate to allow dogs freedom of the deck. A great 5 night stay!

We stayed at the cabin during Christmas week. The cabin was just perfect for a family of four plus our dog. We brought a small table top Christmas tree and were pleasantly suprised the house was decorated for Christmas with a full size tree and all. The water in the lake this time of year is very low so it was a good walk to get to the water. The lake is within walking distant with a little bit of a hike but we were able to fish from the bank. You can tell where the water line is when the water is up and this would be a great place to stay in the summer with easy water access. Definately bring extra towels if you have an extended stay, 4 bath towels are provided, but we stayed a week so we did have to wash towels often. The cabin is probably 20 minutes from large grocery stores so a previous review is correct, stock up before you go or be prepared to make the trek back to Sevierville. There is a Dollar General store near by to essentials. If you are not into the hustle and bustle of tourism in Gatlinburg and enjoy being "Away from it all", this is the place to be. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend to others.

Overall our trip to the lake house was good. There is no lake though. I'm not sure if it is the time of year or if there is a drought but the lake was only visible in the distance. You could tell there use to be a lake or normally is lake by the cabin. We were locked out once we arrived, but we called the owners and were able to get in within 15 min thankfully. The cabin was nice, clean. The area was pretty. We took several hikes! The cleaning crew did arrive 30 minutes early and just sat in the car in front of the cabin waiting for us to leave so that was creepy and uncomfortable. I wish their porch had a gate on it to keep dogs on the deck a little bit of freedom outside, but overall it was a good trip. It is far from and grocery, firewood so get that stuff on the way in!

My wife and I spent a weakend in this cozy little cabin at the perfect time while the leaves were just beginning to change color. It was tucked away right on the lake with a wonderful view. We loved the cabin itself and it's close proximity to the surrounding area attractions in gatlinburg and pigeon forge. This cabin has everything you could ever want for a quiet weekend getaway and we would definitely stay there again. Thank you guys!

Spa was dirty, oven was dirty. Blinds and ceiling fan appear to not have been cleaned in quite some time. Disappointed.

Owner response: We are always concerned and take it very seriously when we have a guest complaint. We had the cleaning crew come out first thing in the morning to re-drain and clean the hot tub to which our guests were very appreciative. We are working against some very rusty well water and are working on a solution to this problem. Our cleaning crew was told the oven was not a problem when they arrived, but we understand that it was initially a concern. We try and do a deep clean of the oven often, but this takes several hours. We have ordered new blinds and they are being installed in the next 2 days. The dust is a constant battle as the Smoky Mountains hold true to their name, but we do our best to keep up with it. We take our guest's concerns very seriously and hope that this sort of thing never happens, but if it does, we strive to make it an opportunity to provide the best and most swift resolution of problems. We value the feedback and will work on implementing the necessary changes to avoid this kind of problem in the future.

              Year Purchased: 2011

About the owner: My husband and I bought this cabin in December of 2011. We fell in love with the East Tennessee area while moving across country and knew that we had to have a piece of this beautiful countryside. Douglas Lake is a perfect place to own, and we hope you enjoy the area as much as we do.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
While staying at our cabin you can enjoy many of the amenities right there at the resort. There is the pool, clubhouse, playground and marina all in one central location. We have a hot tub at our property as well as direct access to the water. There is a trail that you can walk all the way around the lake in the resort, or you can just relax and watch the sunset over the water! We are very close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge which both have endless amounts of shopping, restaurants, amusements, and entertainment. For the outdoor-lovers we are minutes away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which has hundreds of trails for hiking, horseback riding, and driving tours.
