The Tiki Hut was everything that we expected and exactly as advertised. It was the perfect spot to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The owners were friendly, helpful, and non-intrusive. We had a great time hiking, kayaking, and laying around the beach which is a short walk away. The pictures of the property do not properly convey the beautiful art that the owners have created with their gardening. Thank you for a wonderful time and we look forward to visiting again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

The photos on the website don't do Tiki Hut justice. The cottage is bigger than it looks in the photos and the gardens are even more lush and private. The grounds are immaculately maintained and the cottage is clean and very comfortable, with nice touches like a welcome basket of goodies, numerous tropical flower arrangements and even a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge. Two lanais, one off the living room and the other off the bedroom are great for lounging around reading or just admiring the gardens. Glorious Tunnels Beach is a five-minute walk down a private lane, and many other beaches are just a few minutes' drive away. While the owners' house is right next to the cottage and Toni and CB do spend a fair amount of time puttering around the yard, it's fairly private, with little road noise and very quiet neighbors.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I had the fortune to stay, on a chance booking, at the Tiki Hut recently. Both CB and Toni were wonderful. The "hut" is the most enchanting little cottage with 2 lanais overlooking a perfectly suited and well organized garden in the backyard. This garden is full of whimsical little details that were a delight to find! A most lovely welcome basket in the kitchen, coconuts on the porch, and books to tell the history of the area. A short walk put us right on Tunnels Beach, a short drive north (or walk if you want) brought up Kalalua Trail, and a quick drive south brings you to the funky little town of Hanalei (Think Puff the Magic Dragon). You look right up to the mountains of Bali Hai, and the weather was not bad for the winter there. Snorkling on Tunnels is awesome, saw the largest sea turtle I've ever seen. Definitely don't pass this by Tiki is a winner!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I returned to Kauai for the third time last week. We knew we wanted to be at the North Shore, close to beaches but with a lot of privacy. The Tiki Hut was perfect for all these requirements. The entrance door is on the left side, next to the owners' home; however once inside and exiting either of the sliding glass doors to the lanais, the lush foliage and layout of the property is such that we literally never saw anyone else! The Tiki Hut is lovingly furnished with lots of care and thought put into the fixtures and the decor. We enjoyed using our own private hot tub in the evenings after a day at the beach. Short walk to Tunnels, gorgeous sunsets, great snorkeling; very short drive to good coffee in an art gallery (maybe half a mile) and 10 minute drive at most to Hanalei. I cannot say enough about the grounds. The painstaking work that has gone into design and upkeep is remarkable. One small example: there is a glass topped table on a green metal base set next to the hot tub. While in the tub, I reached over for my wineglass and noticed that the placement of the table, near a plant with different colored long, tapered leaves, makes it literally appear that the table is growing out of the plant! That kind of attention to detail is everywhere. There are chimes that softly play from a distance when the wind moves them. That, mixed with the distant waves and the nighttime rain on the palm fronds was a lullaby I miss now that I am home. Beach equipment, all you would need, is right there for the taking. We used the cooler almost every day - for being mid sized it held a lot, and kept things cold for at least 8 hours. In summary, the owners have done a great job creating a private oasis in the middle of heaven. Enjoy your stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I loved our experience in Kauai. The owner's were very nice and gave us our privacy considering they also lived on the property. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. The yard was out of this world. Close enough to fantastic restaurants, but we felt like we were off the beaten path. Just what we wanted. Short walk to beautiful quiet beach. Their dog was a real sweetie pie. Wanted to sneak back to California. Will certainly go back to the Tiki Hut.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

The Tiki Hut is the perfect garden island retreat. We felt that we left our world behind and quite literally stepped into paradise. Situated in an amazingly beautiful tropical garden, the Tiki Hut has all the Polynesian flair and amenities that one needs to become immersed in island life. From the library of Hawaiian music and books, to the fresh cut flowers and tasty snacks, to the snorkel gear, body boards and beach gear, the Tiki Hut is a wonderful home to stay in while on Kaua’i - but the garden and outdoor space is what this place is really all about. The amazing natural wonderland that surrounds the house is absolutely mesmerizing. We strolled through the garden at all hours of the day feeling like we were in a dreamland, soaked in the hot tub at night staring up at the stars through the trees, and lay in the hammock every morning feeling the world come to life. The Tiki Hut is the picture-perfect place to stay while on the Garden island. We loved our time there and look forward to returning.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We loved our stay at the Tiki Hut! The house and surrounding garden are beautifully taken care of with fresh flowers in vases and orchids growing everywhere. We loved sitting in the hot tub on rainy nights with the tropical pines towering over us. CB and Tony are very sweet and their dog, Nugget, was so playful and sweet he helped us not miss our dogs so much. The walk to the beach is just a few minutes to wonderful snorkeling and surfing.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We just spent a wonderful week at the Tiki Hut. Things we liked: We wanted to be away from everything, and we were. It's about 15 minutes beyond Hanalei almost at the end of the road. The house is about a 5-10 minute walk to Tunnels Beach, which is beautiful and sparsely populated - the opposite of Poipu, in terms of crowds. It is also close to the entrance for the Kalalau trail. We did an 8 mile hike, and one reason we managed to start early in the am was our proximity to the trailhead. Also, the Tiki Hut is cute, comfortable, equipped with all the basics, and set in the midst of a beautifully landscaped garden/yard. To be aware of: It is on the same parcel of land as the owner's house, so you are close neighbors. This wasn't an issue, but we felt that we had a little less privacy than we expected (this did deter us from using the hottub). The owners are warm and friendly, and have a sweet dog, who keeps an eye on things in the shared yard.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Just to clarify, the hot tub is for the exclusive use of the guests and is on the back half of the one half acre property, but is out in the open so one can star gaze at night. The owners home and hot tub are on the front half of the property. Guests privacy is always of utmost consideration.

My wife and I had a great stay at the Tiki Hut! What a great location...on the beautiful North Shore and just a short walk down the road to Tunnels Beach with incredible snorkeling. We found the place to be very clean and comfortable and made it easy to prepare your own breakfasts and occasional dinners to save both time and money. The yard is beautiful and well maintained. I would recommend to any couple.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The Tiki hut is a gorgeous little get away. Location is excellent! The gardens are tropical paradise. The only downside is privacy. The windows have no closable curtains. When the hosts are working in the gardens and you want privacy during the day... at night it is not a problem! The hosts are very respectful and quiet. It's an awesome holiday spot.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
