New, beautiful architect-designed, beachfront house with deck for maximum enjoyment of sunsets over Casco Bay. Peaks Island has the charm of a small village and the convenience of nearby Portland, 15 minutes away. The island offers a grocery, restaurants, lobster shack, ice cream shop, library and post office, and bikes, kayaks, and sail boats for rent. Rental includes use of the local sailing and tennis club (tenant responsible for activity fees, call TEIA for more information). A hike around the island covers about four miles, and passes from the bay side to the ocean side, all beautiful. The house is only a few minutes walk to the ferry pier and shops. Peaks has a full market open daily.
The house is spacious, with three large bedrooms and one smaller bedroom. It is fully equipped, with an open kitchen and dining area. The lot is almost an acre, so there is room for lawn games when you are tired of the beach. Two bedrooms have bay views, including the master, which also has a gas stove and french doors for a balcony type view. There are two double beds, one set of twin beds and one single bed. In a den/office there is a full size futon, and a small TV/DVD. The den also has broadband and a wireless router.
An attached Studio has a half bath, two twin beds and a full size TV with VCR. There are two charcoal grills and a smoker available, and a full kitchen with microwave, and outdoor furniture The house also features an outdoor cedar shower.
Portland offers more restaurants, art gallery, movies, and all the amenities of a small city, and do not forget to plan at trip to the outlets in Freeport, 30 minutes away. |
