The summer is fast approaching and the beach is the place to be! Please join us in this newly renovated quaint 3 bedroom 1 bath home that is located just one city block to the beach. The master bedroom has a king size bed with two large closets as well as a TV in the room. The other two bedrooms contain a queen bed and a double. The bathroom, which was painted and the floor redone last October, is located off the hallway. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need as well as a microwave and dishwasher. The dining area has a table that can fit six. Almost everything was bought within the last 4 years. There is a back room (the Pit) which is a perfect area to let the kids go and curl up on the couch and watch TV when they need a bit of down time after being at the beach all day! The utility room is through the pit with a washer/dryer. There will be a 1/2 bath added to this area over the summer. You can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on the deck while gearing up for your day of leisure or being a tourist. There is an area in the back yard to sit and relax while someone mans the grill for dinner or while deciding which local restaurant you want to try out that evening. Last October I also poured the cement to add an outdoor shower to rinse all that salt and sand off before you head into the house. If you come in May - you will be one of the first people to try it out!
And if you feel up to a bit of a drive, you are just minutes away from downtown Charleston where you can explore to your heart’s desire! There is something for everyone within just a short distance: restaurants featuring many kinds of cuisine, tours by foot, pedal, hoof or water; shopping literally until you drop…and when you’ve had enough….plantations to explore, gardens to savor, ghosts to hunt, trails to bike and the wonderful beach on Isle of Palms to relax on!

While staying at Connie's Cottage on Isle of Palms, you are minutes away from historic Charleston where you can find many activities to help you enjoy your visit to the area. If you are a history buff, you will find plenty to keep you busy as you enjoy tours of the local forts and tours of downtown either walking, horse drawn carriage, Segway, cycling or by water. There are plenty of gardens and plantations that show the true beauty of The Lowcountry. And of course the beach is just a mere one city block from Connie’s Beach Cottage which never closes! Even closer for families with children are water parks and arcades as close as Mt. Pleasant just over ‘the connector’. For the shoppers in the group, Charleston has many locations for you to spend your time and money including the downtown Market area where local vendors showcase their wares including many artisans making their sweet grass baskets. But you don’t even need to leave Isle of Palms to enjoy shopping, eating and an evening out - just head up to the Front Beach area to enjoy our shops and restaurants. Just 10 blocks away is the Recreation Center.
Year Purchased: 1971
About the owner: This is the family home that I grew up in many years ago. The photo is one of the first photos of me in 1971 in our new home in the back yard. I hope you will enjoy your stay here as much as I enjoyed my childhood growing up on Isle of Palms The island has changed over the years – the biggest change for me is the addition the Mark Clark Expressway which allows easier access to Isle of Palms and the construction that went on after Hurricane Hugo. Since those changes, there are more tourists which have discovered our wonderful island as well as more shops, restaurants and adventures for you to find while you ‘hang’ at the beach. There is still the wonderful beach just one city block away (two blocks by island standards), delicious seafood to be sampled at many local restaurants, the fun of the Recreation Center just ten blocks away (minutes by car or a fun bike ride) and all the wonders of downtown Charleston just over the Ravenel Bridge. Unfortunately I now live in Connecticut and only get to come down a few times a year but wanted others to experience what life in the Lowcountry is all about. Hopefully you will love the area during your short visit as much as those of us from here do!
Why the Owner Chose Isle of Palms: After growing up here, how could I possibly think of not keeping this property in the family for as long as I can? I was lucky enough to experience island living while growing up and it doesn’t get any better than that! Once school was out for the year, surfing in the morning…walks to the playground (Recreation Center) and the front beach. Although it was totally different when I was growing up! There is a beautiful County Park now as well as many shops and restaurants. You could spend your whole vacation just staying on Isle of Palms and never get bored!
The Unique Benefits at this House: The unique benefits? Connie’s Beach Cottage is located just minutes away from just about anything you can need or want. Just choose how you want to spend your vacation! Do you want to relax and unwind? You can do that…. Do you want to shop until you drop? You can do that too…. Do you want to eat your way through every food group? You can certainly do that! It’s all up to you!
