Perfect home base for a single or a close-knit couple
65 rue Charlot was my haven while visiting Paris alone for the first time. As a 50+ woman taking morning French courses, I wanted to meld in to Parisian life, and this apartment was exactly what I hoped it would be. First, the location is incredible. The Charlot and rue de Bretagna area is vibrant, with lively cafes, unique clothing and specialty stores, the hidden gem - Marche des Enfants Rouges, friendly shop owners, and a youthful professional vibe. There are 2 subway stations about 5 minutes away, but a highlight of every morning and evening was navigating the pedestrian friendly streets to and from school and various sites (about 20 min walk to Notre Dame, 5 min walk to trendy part of Marais, 15 min walk to Pompidou). Second, the apartment was a refreshing change from my sprawling house in the suburbs. As a non-city dweller, I loved experiencing the lifestyle of my daughter in her tiny, old NYC apartment and millions of other young professionals who opt for location and charm. Anne-Laure's apartment is in an older building, complete with a narrow wooden circular staircase, beautiful tall windows, and well-thought out antique Parisian furnishings and modern efficiencies. If you want to truly experience Paris life 24-7, and are willing to embrace the 3 floor walk-up; take short showers (it is an old building with an old plumbing system); fit in a small bathroom; dine on wine, cheese, and other goodies from local markets while sitting in comfy cushioned chairs; enjoy a great night's rest in a new queen size bed; interact with a thoughtful owner (who speaks perfect English, having lived in the States for a few years); and stay connected with family and friends through her free international phone service, I highly recommend 65 rue Charlot. Please feel free to email me if you have questions.

About the owner: I'm fond of Paris, its art galeries, unique little shops and delicious food, its nightlife which never ends and its many exhibitions. People say i'm stuck in the past as i only read non contemporary authors, love antiques and old paintings. Photography, drawing and painting are my hobbies. My job does not fit this descritpion as i'm working on the creation of video games :)
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 3:
The Marais district is my favorite area in Paris. With its 17th century buildings, the Marais echoes the heyday of aristocratic and nobility splendor under the Ancien Regime. Something clearly has not changed in this area since the 17th century, this is still the place where fashionable society meets.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
The rue Charlot is one of the famous streets of the Marais. Everything is at your doorstep, art galeries, fashion designers, bars, restaurants, museum, great nightlife, etc., I could stay there all year long!
