Gorgeous Emerald Coast Beachfront Home; Bring Friends & Family
- Minimum stay:2-5 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
LAS TRINITARIAS (another word for bougainvillea) is a luxurious, newly built (2011) two-story beachfront home located on the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico's Emerald Coast (named for the emerald green waters) in Sisal, Yucatán, Mexico. Sisal is a seaport town located 45 minutes from Mérida – the capital city of Yucatán state, and a recently named “UN City of Peace”.
The house is located in a quiet area of upscale private beach homes around 3 km from “downtown” Sisal and its newly renovated pier. There you can shop for groceries, enjoy water sports, or indulge in fresh seafood and a cold drink at a beachfront restaurant. Unlike Progreso, where the masses from Mérida descend, Sisal is an uncrowded and safe fishing village where you can relax and enjoy yourself amidst an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
This 3965 square foot home has 5 ocean-view bedrooms – each with built-in wood closets, air conditioning and ceiling fans – including super-comfortable beds: 1 king, 4 queen, 1 twin and 1 queen futon. Four bedrooms have in-room bathrooms with showers and there are an additional 3 half-baths including one in the “maid’s room” which functions as a sixth bedroom. If you have a small group, you can rent our home with just two bedrooms plus the maid's room for up to a 30% discount. The home features a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, an island and a pass-though opening to the outdoor sit-up bar; and a combination living room / dining room with a retractable glass wall opening to the ocean-view patio which sports a large palapa with built-in sofas, an in-ground solar-heated pool and a grassy area (to keep your dog happy).
The beach in front of our house is effectively private and the waters are almost always very calm with a gradual slope that is still only chest-deep 400 feet in at most times - perfect for young children and all levels of swimmers. Throughout any given day you’re likely to see a constant stream of butterflies, pelicans diving for fish, and an amazing array of other birds. In the early evening enjoy a cocktail on the Flamingo View Terrace and watch hundreds of flamingos returning home to the cienega for the night as the sun sets over the ocean. While you’re not lazing about you can visit ancient Mayan ruins; explore caves; swim in a cenote; or visit the museums, restaurants and shopping of Mérida.
Satellite TV is included with over a dozen English-language channels in addition to Spanish-language channels. Internet is optional via the rental of our 3G+WiFi hotspot. Maid service is included once a week for stays longer than 1 week to clean the house and clean/change the included linens and towels. She is also generally available other days to clean and/or cook for USD$20-30 per day (6-8 hours).
Our fully-fluent Spanish/English-speaking property manager can optionally greet you at Mérida airport, will welcome and orient you to our home, and be on-call to handle any unforeseen issues and provide advice for planning activities during your stay.

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend eight nights at this beach front rental in Sisal. It was so peaceful and beautiful there and we loved it. The house is stunning as is the setting it is in. We would see the flamingos fly by to and from the lagoon twice a day. Pelican, birds, butterflies were just some of the amazing wildlife we enjoyed watching everyday. You can walk for a long time on the white sand beach collecting shells and not run into another person. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen is a chef's dream. I did all the dishes by hand so I could look out the window at the beautiful gulf coast. The town is approx 5km away on a flat stretch of road and we enjoyed biking there almost every day. The house would be fantastic for a big group of people. It was fine just for the two of us as we just used the bottom floor. The outside area has a wonderful clean pool and lots of lounging areas. I can't say enough good things about this house. We loved it and would go back in a heart beat.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Our stay here was wonderful. We wanted for nothing. Everything was accessible and well thought out. The beds were extremely comfortable, the views from our windows exquisite. The interior decorations were well appointed and the Mexican tile and basins were beautiful. I particularly loved the bathroom shower open to outside at the top. We would recommend staying here for anyone wishing to get away from the hectic city of Merida or their life in general. We welcomed the cool breezes as average temps of 38C kept us in the shade of the beautiful palapa on site. I rarely used the swimming pool as the ocean was a short walk from the house. Spent one day walking around the town of Sisal and found the locals to be extremely happy, friendly and helpful. I can hardly wait to come back again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

This property is amazing. We started our vacation in Progreso and quickly realized that we were looking for something a little more remote. Sisal and this house were perfect. We walked on the beach every day for miles, we saw two other people the entire time. Unless of course we were walking to the beach restaurant in Sisal, there we regularly saw a few other people. The walk to the restaurant is long, but worth it for the ceviche and margaritas (very affordable too). The house is comfortable and beautiful with every amenity you could hope for in a beach house. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation to rediscover your happy place, Sisal and this house are it. Enjoy.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
