  We stayed with another couple for his birthday weekend. The house is immaculately clean with everything in like-new condition. Richard was very friendly on arrival with a bottle of wine in the fridge and a loaf of banana bread for us to enjoy. Bryan arrived home later with a cheerful greeting as well. We cooked breakfast both days and dinner both evenings. The location was convenient for our wine pick-up parties that weekend too. They were kind to let me store a bike in the garage out of the weather and out of sight and off the beautiful wood floors in the house! Highly recommended

  From the moment we arrived, we knew this was going to be something out of the ordinary. Richard and Bryan greeted us and gave us a tour of the house and yard. They had a bottle of wine, fresh fruit, and a yummy banana nut bread that Richard baked himself. Everything has been thought of, from a fully equipped kitchen to the bathrobes provided. The house is conveniently located and it is just a short drive to just about everywhere we wanted to go. We are already checking our calendars, because we want to make this one of our regular destinations. Thanks guys, we had a blast. Scott and Matt

  My partner and I celebrated our 21-yr anniversary at Side-by-Side vacation rental, and had such an incredible time. The owners, Bryan & Richard, were incredibly hospitable and made us feel so special during our stay. Upon arrival, they had a bottle of wine chilled for us to start our anniversary off right. It was an easy introduction, and after the tour, we were able to quickly settle in to a relaxing time. I must say, the setting is so serene with the creek rippling in the background, and the amazing gardens. It truly was a great experience, and we can also say we have made great new friends.   The home was absolutely as advertised. Immaculate, nice appointments. Bryan was helpful before our arrival and Fred graciously showed us the place, left us with chocolate banana bread, fresh strawberries and coffee. The area is, of course, beautiful. It was a great get away after a cold winter in Chicago.

  We had such a marvelous time in this home. Everything is just lovely. Richard and Bryan have literally thought of everything, including wonderful welcoming presents. The house is just perfect for two couples, separate bathrooms, each adjoining beautiful comfortable bedrooms. These fellows were not our friends, but feel like friends now. The house is very convenient to town and the best cafe in town. You can also walk along the creek area which we did several times. The hottub was a real treat after a day of hiking through the area. Thank you both so much for providing us with such a lovely and comfortable home for seven days - hopefully, we will be back - Louise

  What a lovely place. Exactly as advertised and more. The owners could not have been more accomodating and kind. We truly felt like welcome guests. We were there for Thanksgiving with my daughter, her husband and little baby. What a charming cottage. Everything clean and neat as a pin. We are quite tempted to come back in the summer as it was obvious that a lot of love went into the grounds outside, from what we could tell it will be beautiful in the summer months. I would recommend without reservations to anyone. We very much enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and there are lots of parks very close, not to mention wineries and beautiful redwoods. A definte find.

  If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. My wife, 5 month old daughter, my mother-in-law and I recently had the pleasure of staying here over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. And from beginning to end, the entire trip was perfect. We arrived on Thanksgiving day and were greeted by Brian and Richard who took us on a complete tour of the house. The two most perfect hosts I've ever had at any VRBO house. They were completely attentive and sensitive to the fact that we had a baby. Here re a few highlights I'll note about our stay: -The mood in the house is amazing. It's filled with Tiffany style lamps that, when all lit at night, just melt the stress away. And even though you're in wine country, it makes you want to just relax inside the entire time. -The kitchen was great. Full and accommodating enough to cook an entire Thanksgiving dinner. Richard even let us borrow his turkey pan. -The 2 mile walking loop around the neighborhood was such a great way to begin the day! -The spa was awesome. Set up against the creek, made for added ambiance. -Each room has it's own heat settings, which with a baby was key! I've stayed at quite a few rentals in Sonoma and highly recommend this place! You will not be disappointed.

  We are wanderers who travel for both business and pleasure. When an opportunity to be in San Francisco came up, we decided to spend extra time in wine country. Bryan and Richard's home in the Russian River Valley seemed almost too good to be true, and we arrived mid-week to find it was everything we could have wished for - and much, much more. From the welcoming bottle of champagne, fruit bowl, and homemade chocolate chip banana bread, to the beautifully decorated and lavishly equipped house, we were charmed and delighted. Bryan and Richard treated us as if we were eagerly anticipated guests rather than random renters, and anything we needed or asked was supplied or answered before we asked! A fifteen minute drive through charming small towns brought us to panoramic ocean vistas, and we found little local cafes remarkably welcoming to three New Englanders who wandered by day and relaxed with our "wine finds" each evening. Would we choose "Side by Side" again? In a heart beat. Richard and Bryan -- thank you so much for a wonderful week in Guerneville! The Vermont-sters (and a stray from Massachusetts)

  At our recent stay in Guerneville we had a wonderful time. The house was just as described, very spacious and comfortable, decorated outside to suit the season, lots of little extras. It was spotless and the owners went out of their way to make sure we knew where everything was and gave us great advice on where to shop, eat, and sight-see. We very much recommend this place as a great place to stay!!

  Owner response: Wonderful people, but we didn't get to see much of them. They were so busy wine tasting, going on a balloon ride, and checking out all the amenities this area has to offer they hardly used the house. They are welcome back anytime.

  My husband and I and friend traveled from the Bay Area for a weekend wine country getaway. Both Bryan and Richard were great. The house was beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and they were both so gracious. A delicious bottle of red wine was left for us as well as fruit and a delicious chocolate banana breakfast bread. They helped us with restaurant recommendations and had a suggestions for hikes in the area. We all had a wonderful time.

  My husband and I just spent a wonderful week with another couple in this beautiful garden home. The location was great for us because we wanted to be close to the ocean with the gorgeous Hwy. 1 drives, and we wanted to explore the Russian River wineries. This spot also provided us with just short drives to the more well known wine towns. We visited some great state parks and the Redwoods were beautiful, but the really defining aspect of our visit was the warmth and hospitality we received from our hosts! The home is very new and everything in it is immaculate. The owners live next door, and that turned out to be a true blessing. They are wonderful people and went way above and beyond to make our stay not just comfortable, but truly special. We give the highest recommendations to the place and to it's owners. Thanks so much for a great time!

  We have rented other VRBO properties in the past and this experience was so much more than we expected. The house is new, sparkling clean, and well equipped with everything needed for our stay. From the comfortable beds with high quality linens to the welcome basket of fruit, wine, and banana bread, it was the perfect experience. Bryan and Richard live next door and were very helpful in making recommendations and answering questions. We didn't have any issues, but we liked that they could respond quickly to our needs rather than calling a service. With plenty of privacy, a great location, and devoted owners, we give this home our highest recommendation!

  Went to Sonoma/Napa for the first time with our dear friends and shared this wonderful home with them. Upon arrival we we so glad to see that the home was exactly as the pictures showed, charming and clean. The home is very well cared for by its owners, Richard and Bryan who were very helpful with getting us acquainted with the area which offers easy access to the ocean, redwoods and most awesome wine. Check out Copain winery for a beautiful view and lovely small vineyard wines. Thanks to our hosts for the wonderful 50th birthday cake and much more. We will be back.......

  The house is wonderful. Everything is new and done up to the standards you expect for your home, not a rental. Really beautiful finishes. They are right, everything is provided. We had a great time cooking dinner and found everything we needed including a grill and all the tools. The owners are right next door and were happy to help. You can tell this is their passion and they want you to enjoy your stay and let them know if something can be done better. Be sure to make time and enjoy the garden. My husband thinks they should make a scavenger hunt out of finding the art. Everywhere we looked we found something new to discover. We stayed with another couple and really spent our time focused on the local wineries. The house was a nice retreat to come back to and enjoy the wine we had bought! Thank you Richard and Bryan!

  Overall very pleased with Side by Side! Bryan and Richard were very accommodating hosts and were very attentive to our needs. Our stay was just like being at home, with much better weather and scenery. It was very relaxing. You will love their garden...there is so much to look at. I think it would have been fun to have a scavenger hunt to try and find different things. My only suggestions would be to have an enclosed tub (shower curtain) in the second bathroom, as we had to share the walk in shower with our friends (not at the same time, of course, that would just be weird :-) The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked--we just had to look a little harder for certain dishes... but I think that as more people stay that issue will be resolved. Extra towels would also be nice to have on hand and easily accessible as well... Overall, this is a must stay for a long weekend or a week. Great value, great hosts, great location (within 30 minutes of most wineries). I just hope that by writing this I am not making it harder for my wife and I to return again some time!

  We had a great time up in Guerneville at this lovely home. Bryan and Richard were very welcoming (they live right next door) and there were fresh flowers and homemade banana bread waiting for us when we arrived. We were visiting with our 3-month-old infant and he slept like a champ in the peace of the redwoods! We loved the yard (we live in SF and don't have any outdoor space) and enjoyed grilling out there while soaking up the summer sunshine (sure beats the SF summer fog!). The house is newly remodeled and it shows...there are beautiful finishes (floors, windows, faucets, etc.) throughout. A great place to stay!

  had a wonderful weekend here with 3 of my friends. we do an annual weekend trip and were so pleased with our stay here. bryan and richard are so warm and friendly and accommodating and even welcomed us with wine and homemade banana bread. the garden in front and back are beautiful and it was really a perfect stay for 4 people. it really feels very homey and was clean and just a pleasure. would absolutely recommend this to friends. thank you bryan and richard!

  This place was amazing and we will definitely be staying there again. The garden is wonderful and peaceful and the house was brand new and so comfortable. We stayed three nights and plan on staying at least a week next time. Richard and Bryan were next door and gave us all the privacy we needed, but were wonderful to meet and so friendly. We loved spending time at the river during the day and being able to come back to such a relaxing place.

  We had an absolutely amazing time during the week we stayed at Side by Side. Richard and Bryan, the owners who live next door, couldn't be more hospitable, friendly and respectful of our privacy. The house is stunning--every last detail is accounted for at this new and very luxurious property. The location is also very convenient to downtown Guernville and is so peaceful--there's a wonderful two mile walk that loops the neighborhood and is very scenic (tons of redwoods and a babbling creek). We hope to return to Side by Side soon and are so grateful for the very relaxing and peaceful week we spent at this beautiful location.

  When my boyfriend and I reserved Side by Side, we had no idea that it would be as amazing as it was. The pictures really do not convey how beautiful the house and the gardens are. The owners Richard and Bryan live next door, but we never felt imposed upon or our privacy invaded. Actually, it was nice having them so close to respond to any questions that came up. The house is quiet and the creek outside the back deck had such a wonderful musical quality to it, we felt like we were in our own little world. Again, we cannot recommend this place enough. It is close enough to everything important, but far enough away to feel like you can get away.

  This home is beautiful. The details from the front door to the peaceful deck overlooking the river are perfect. Wonderful, comfortable beds. Spa bathrooms. Chef's kitchen. Amazing find at a amazing rate. Fun hosts who provide a great welcome and respect your privacy. Wonderful gardens. House is gated. No detail overlooked. Fun, funky area that has a great mix of local color along with great shops and a top foodie destination. Thanks to Richard and Bryan!
