We loved the location of this home, just a short walk to the dunes and beach, plus a scenic walk or bike to downtown shops and restaurants. Thanks for the bikes, ping pong, and Wii (from the 7 year old)! Enjoyed riding in Nehalem Bay state park. Plenty of room for two families (3 adults and 3 kids).

Owner response: Susan, Thanks for the note. We're happy you had a great time at the beach. Come back and see us sometime. DCM

We held a mini family reunion here. Couldn't have picked a better location. From the top deck one feels like you are in the trees with thw wonderfull sounds of the surf. With a less than a minute walk you can be toes deep in the sand. You can bike down the beach to town for all the wonders that await in town (great pizza, coffee house, farmers market, shops, nice playground and tennis court). The house comes with everything you could want , bikes, surf boards, kites, chairs, cooler, etc. We enjoyed our time there so much we tried to extend the visit but the house full and so was the rest of the town. Great summer memories. On our next trip to the area we will certainly try to stay here if it available.

We have stayed here multiple times and have always had such a great time. This is a perfect spot for families to enjoy the beach and enjoy time together. The beach is so close and in the right spot - plenty of waves for surfing/boogie boarding, awesome sand dunes for running up/down and being so close, it's great for bonfires too! The house has tons of space and has everything you need - plus the owners are wonderful! Couldn't ask for a better spot and a better town to be close to. We look forward to this summer and spending more time there!

We have stayed here several times and the home is just as described. There is plenty of room for the family to spread out and the owners have thought of everything so all you have to do is arrive and start having fun. Kitchen is fully equipped and there is a great collection of games and books, TV in the loft with a nice assortment of DVDs, and WiFi. Beds and linens are clean and comfy, the large utility room is handy and the ping pong table in the garage is a great bonus. Just a short walk to town makes this location perfect for a weekend or longer stay. Can't wait for our next visit!

Took the family down to Manzanita, a great town on Oregon coast. House is literally steps from beach and short walk to "downtown" Manzanita. Nicely furnished with everything you need to enjoy your time...pack your kites, surfboards, bikes, and books to play & then relax. You'll love it too...

My wife and I have visited this home several times, meeting friends here (w and w/out children), all throughout the year. Every time we visit, we discover something new we love about Manzanita as you can literally walk to everything in town from this place - sunshine, fog, sideways rain - it doesn't matter, its a great get away from busy life in the city. Take the bikes for a cruise into town for morning coffee and the maple bars (can't miss these), go on a hike to Oswalds St Park beach and find yourself in a movie scene, have a burger at the Sand Dune Pub, hit the grocery store and get taffy from the old guy at the cash register, or just make a bonfire on the beach and bring the smores. After all this excitement, just kick back and enjoy the cozy fireplace, a good book and cup of coffee (or glass of wine), and plenty of room for all your friends/kids. After writing this review, I might just go book our next trip! Thanks to the owners for creating a great family-friendly environment in a fun, quaint, little beach town.

Our family has stayed in this beach house several times. We just can't get enough of it! It can't get much closer to the beach and has all of the amenities you need for a comfortable stay (very comfortable bedrooms, full kitchen, w/d, living room and loft, ping pong table & several decks to enjoy in the warm weather). We found it very inviting, clean and tidy, even the neighbors were nice... All around a fantastic way to enjoy the beach & Manzanita!

We stayed here with our two young boys and it was a perfect spot for our family. The beach is very short walk away. The town of Manzanita is a 20-minute walk or 5-minute drive. Very convenient. The objective and our recent stay was to RELAX...and we did! The house is clean, spacious and very comfortable. We found everything we needed and then some. Great deck areas for lounging and the cozy loft was a welcome retreat at the end of the day. If you haven't been to Manzanita before, it offers everything you need without the crowds and craziness of Canon Beach. Awesome beach, great dining options, Marazano's Pizza, San Dune pub for burgers, etc. We will be back to Manzanita very soon and look forward to staying here again.

We've stayed in our share of vacation rentals, and this one is such a cozy, adorable little place, just steps to the fabulous beach! The inside is perfect for a large family, with the most comfortable mattresses (seriously! they are better than our mattresses at HOME!). It has such a cute floorplan, loft above, plenty of space, lovely kitchen with wood burning stove in the family room-- just immaculate! Highly recommended, 5+ stars!

              Owner info

              Year Purchased: 2010

About the owner: We love spending time here with our 3 kids, surfing, exploring the beach, riding bikes, playing ping-pong, building bonfires and just taking a break from our regular busy routine. We make this house available to our friends, and want all our guests to feel just as welcome and valued.

              Why the Owner Chose Manzanita:
We've been visiting Manzanita for 20 years, and during that time rented homes in all areas of the town. We finally purchased our beach home in 2010 because it was the perfect combination for a vacationing family. The miles-long stretch of beach out front is beautiful for walking and sand castle-building, and golf and shopping are just a few minutes away down the dedicated bike path to town. Our street is very (very) quiet and we have wonderful neighbors. The state park is 2 blocks south, with miles of walking and biking trails along the Nehalem River. The house has a double garage with a ping-pong table, so guests have plenty to keep themselves busy.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
The sand begins at the end of our dead-end street. It's 132 steps from our front door (as measured repeatedly by our 3 kids). The coffee & donut shop is our favorite place to walk in the morning. Other great food spots include Mudd Dog (in the summer), the San Dune Tavern, Bread & Ocean bakery, and Marzano's Pizza. There are also 2 grocery stores right in town if you'd rather stock up the kitchen and stay home. Oh, and our kids' favorite place is the vintage candy shop.
