We enjoyed staying in this cottage. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for us since we were touring the road to Hana. I would recommend this cottage to anyone.

We preferred not to be in the tourist areas of Lahaina or Wailea, so this rental was perfect. Eastward you have the Hana Highway drive, and westward you pass through Paia to get back to central Maui. The property itself was very comfortable, spacious, clean, and had everything that you needed (beach gear, games, extra linens, toiletries, movies, books - everything!) I would recommend staying here to anyone.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in early January and really enjoyed ourselves. It was nice to have a quiet place to come home to after busy days of sightseeing and beaches. However, this place is definitely a little out of the way if you want to enjoy the many beaches Maui has to offer. Prepare yourself for lots of driving and maybe even dodging a few locals on those blind corners. Ended up putting many miles on the rental car. But we did enjoy using the boogie boards and snorkels provided. Very close proximity to the Road to Hana (mainly because you're on it) and the drives to Kahului for supplies wasn't horrible either. Definitely would recommend to those who love adventure and want a quiet, peaceful place away from all the crazy busy resorts. If I had to make one recommendation to the owners it would be a dishwasher. Would make it feel a little more like home. But all in all the owners are very accomodating especially if you have small children as they were for us. Thanks again for making our family vacation fun and relaxing.

We stayed at this property for 5 nights between Christmas and New Year's with our 3.5 year old and 7-month old. The property is well-maintained, has everything you need in terms of all the basic amenities. The owners are very friendly and it was great for our older daughter to hang out with their children (she was talking about them many weeks after we had already left...). The location is exactly what we wanted - having been to Maui before, we knew we wanted to stay in the Hana area. The only drawback is that it is not possible to walk outside the property because once you leave the driveway, you're on the Road to Hana and there is no area off the road to walk on safely, as cars drive on the winding road. But the property itself has a fairly large area for kids to run around on. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Super cottage with all the amenities - very clean and comfortable with a very cordial host family. The grounds are covered with awesome flowering and fruit producing plants (the apple bananas were delicious) Access to the Hana Road drive was right out front - great drive. Local towns were close and full of character and more good eateries than we could try. Day trips to other parts of the island were easy to do - and returning to the quiet privacy of our cottage for the evening was a pleasure.

This was my first time renting through VRBO......what luck to find the perfect place to stay! My family and I loved, loved, loved this place! The location was absolutely perfect. We wanted to stay away from hotels/resorts and really get a feel for the island. This cottage provided exactly what we were looking for. The surrounding area was stunning and the cottage was cozy and clean. There was four of us and we were all very comfortable. Beds, furnishings, everything was comfortable......truly our home away from home! It had everything we needed. Theresa and Kevin were both awesome and made sure we were comfortable and happy with our accomodations. From the first time I emailed Theresa, I was sold on her customer service. Very nice people who follow through on everything they promise. (Thanks Theresa for the fresh fruit and greens! BTW, I could have easily grabbed a cup of coffee and chatted with you for hours! Also, my eight year old son loved the playdates with your son Logan!) For those wishing to stay here, it's easier to stock up at the Costco or Safeway near the airport before going to the house. The house is definitely not out in the boonies but it is a about a 30-35 minute drive to the bigger stores. Paia is close enough for the smaller local stores/shops, it's quaint.....a great place to walk around and experience the great restaurants in town. Beaches, waterfalls, hiking trails.....all are close to this lovely cottage. We toured just about all the major areas around the island and the east side of Maui is definitely the most beautiful. A great way to end our busy day was bbq'ing on the grill provided and relaxing on the porch! Thanks again for providing us with the perfect place to stay! It truly made our vacation that much better! We'll be back next year. See you then!

What a great experience for our entire family. We had a great time getting to know this side of the island. Just far enough away from Paia to feel that we were in heaven, but close enough to Haiku and Paia for a quick run to the store and dinner. REALLY appreciated the special attention. We will be back when we can and hike some more trails and find the twin falls again. Have a great Summer.

My family and I thorougly enjoyed our experience at the cottage. We lived there for a month and loved the location. The picture accurately represented the accomodations and the beautiful grounds. The owners were very helpful and friendly. It is a beautiful lush tropical area of Maui, away from the crowds. We enjoyed many hikes and beaches in the area and saw rainbows almost everyday!

We had such a wonderful time at this rainforest hideaway, the cottage was really cute and perfect for our family. Theresa was incredibly helpful with our booking, and we couldn't have asked for more! It was easy to get to Hana, and also the airport from here. It was very quiet and peaceful. Thanks again!

We enjoyed our stay at Hidden Treasures cottage very much. It is a charming little place surrounded by lush plantings. It was just as it was described in the listing and the pictures are accurate. Kevin and Theresa, the owners are lovely people ...very friendly and imformative. The cottage is a ways out of town off the Hana Highway and is perfect for those who want to feel the real Hawaii as opposed to staying in "touristy" places. While there for 5 days we drove every road on the island and saw as much as we possibly could and that was a lot!!! The only drawback to the cottage and it was my oversight it not reading the listing closely, was no tv. They have a tv but no connection so unless you were into watching movies (of which they had quite a collection) or reading (they had a good number of paperbacks as well), there wasn't much to do at night. They are thinking of getting a hook-up and that would make it perfect. We would recommend this place to everyone!

Owner response: We're calling Dish Network today to get satellite! We're also putting some board games in as well.

Could not of been more perfect. If you want a place that is off the beaten path, this is it. Do not stay here if you want a restaurant or store nearby, this is truly out there. Home is fully stocked for whatever you need, very comfortable all the way around, including a great selection of DVD's to watch at the end of a long day exploring the north shore. Owners are the best- Kevin & Theresa went out of there way to accommodate us in every way including bringing us fresh fish one night to BBQ- LOVE YOU GUYS & WILL BE BACK FOR SURE!!!

Owner response: Mahalo Nui Loa for your great review! It's true, we're a ways away from stores/restaurants, etc. so we do recommend folks to purchase what they need before coming here. It is only a 20 min. drive to the nearest grocery store/ restaurants, so it's not that bad, but it feels farther due to the fact that there aren't a lot of houses on the way.

If resorts are not your preference, this cottage certainly will provide a sense of what it is like living on Maui...Partway up the road to Hana, it provides everything you will need for your stay, fully equipped kitchen, beach towels and boogie boards for your trip to the beach. It is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by a beautiful garden. We definitely preferred it to the resorts we stayed in on previous visits. I would stay here again.

Owner response: Mahalo for your review! Just to clarify, we're only 5 miles in on "The Road to Hana" and about only 3 of those miles are curvy. It's still another hour and a half to Hana from our home. We also have a cooler for trips to the beach, too.

This was such a cute little cottage! We had everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing including laundry, extra towels, and a full kitchen for cooking meals (to save on the cost of eating out everyday). We were out and about most of the day sightseeing and touring the island and usually came back early evening to make dinner which was nice. It's a bit of a drive to get there if you're planning on going to Lahaina everyday, but the drive was nice and scenic...so we enjoyed it :) We would definitely come again on future visits!

Owner response: Mahalo for your great comments! Yes, we try to have everything you need and more! We also share what we have any time we have extra or if you need anything.
