Great house for our visit - group of high school friends traveling to celebrate our 51st birthdays. The home is beautiful, in a quiet, secluded neighborhood. The house was cleaned prior to our arrival, and is well-maintained. We especially liked that the house was non-smoking. As another guest posted, there are 2 bathrooms in the master bedroom, but it worked out fine for us, which says a lot for 5 adults all accustomed to living alone with private facilities. The other full bath is between the 2 bedrooms with the queen beds (en suite for one of them), and the half bath is off the kitchen by the laundry room. The house is a bit remote from major groceries and restaurants, so plan accordingly. We found the Kroger in Hernando (recommended by Larry- about 20 minutes away) a good place to meet our needs, and there was a Wal-Mart across the street from that. The 2nd refrigerator in the screened porch was convenient for our outdoor entertaining. The ice-maker in the kitchen refrigerator was not working, but they provided us with bags of us to use, and had repairs lined up. One caveat: the king bed in the master bedroom is a tall order; guests who are vertically or physically challenged should plan to use one of the other bedrooms. The pool is huge - the pictures do not really do it justice, as is true for the great room, with its comfy leather furniture. The pool was cleaned and tended to every other day, making our stay stress-free as far as pool maintenance. Pool towels and some floats were also provided. Laundry supplies were on-hand in the laundry room, which was helpful. If you are familiar with the Harrah's in Tunica/Robinsonville, it is a very short drive there - about 10 minutes. We drove through the town square in Hernando the first night, and wanted to get back to enjoy what looked like great dining and local shopping, but did not make it back there. Try the Route 51 Cafe in Hernando, but get there before they close (3 pm) - delicious food. Our dining out otherwise was in Memphis, except for the cleanest Waffle House for a late night breakfast (in Robinsonville, between the 2 entrances to Harrah's). Traffic to Memphis/sights was not an issue - get your gas in Mississippi, though, as it was cheaper. We enjoyed our stay, and would stay again if we get back that way with a need for that much space. Larry, the owner, lives nearby, and was accessible and helpful, and had information on tourist attractions at the house.

Great Place to Stay Near Memphis!
Great Place to Stay Near Memphis!
This was great vacation home for our family from Montana, Iowa and Illinois to meet and spend time together near Memphis. The home was clean, comfortable and the pool was so great that we had trouble getting the teenage granddaughters and friends out to go out site seeing. Close to Memphis sites, shopping and casinos. Mr. Poe was very nice to work with and this home is just as he describes it. Would rent it again if we were in that area.

The place was pretty much as described by the owner. However, there wasn't any dish rags or towels and we ran out of toilet paper & paper towels. It also didn't have laundry detergent or bounce for the dryer. Ladies don't forget your blow dryer, that wasn't supplied either. As for kitchen supplies, there's plenty of pots & pans, dishes, etc. but don't count on any spices accept salt, pepper, and garlic salt. Check in time isn't until 4:00 and check out is at 11:00 am. There isn't a lock box or code the owner meets you at the house. Other than that the house & environment was very nice. We loved the pool & had a great time going to Memphis & surrounding Casinos. Larry was very helpful with the wifi which wasn't working the first day we got there and was very nice. I would definitely recommend this place. It's beautiful if you like trees & greenery.

My family was looking for a place big enough to house 9 people comfortably for a 3 night vacation. We live in Southern Indiana and some additional family from Dallas Texas. This house was a perfect "meet in the middle" drive for all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious accomodations. It is obvious that the owner of the house, Larry, takes great pride in providing a comfortable, clean, homelike environment for his renters. The home was very clean when we arrived, and the pool was being cleaned as well. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated. We had children, under the age of 5 in our group, so little considerations, like stuffed animals in the bedrooms, made the stay even more like home for them. The pool was fantastic! We visited the Memphis Zoo while we were there which I highly recommend if you are visiting with children of any ages. Also, Marlow's BBQ on Elvis Presley Blvd. was great. I was so happy that we found this rental home. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a home away from home. If you are able to visit in the warm months and take advantage of the pool, even better. My family will more than likely be staying in this house in the near future.

Girl's getaway was a huge success!
Girl's getaway was a huge success!
Memphis was a great area for a girls getaway and this luxury pool house was the perfect place to stay, and was just as we expected! The neighborhood is classy and quiet. The pool was a huge attraction for us when signing up and we were pleased with most everything the house had to offer. It was the perfect size for our group of 8. I personally loved the couches! The kitchen table was the perfect size for a few meals at home and for game night! It was nice that there were plenty of towels for bathing and for pool use and there was also laundry available on-site. Our group highly recommends this house and would definitely consider visiting again! It is a little off the beaten path, but not far from Southaven, MS, which was nice for getting out for shopping and eating when we didn't want to drive into Memphis. We went into Memphis for a few occasions. Beale Street is a must when visiting Memphis and we had a fabulous time. Several people had suggested we go early and leave early. We listened to the advice and the crowds were fun and friendly! One of our favorite adventures into Memphis revolved around food. First up: BBQ for Lunch. We hit up a fast food BBQ joint called Tops. While it may not be the classiest joint, the locals were fun, the place was busy, and the food definitely delivered on taste. Locals suggested the pork or the double burger. 2nd up: Locals love Jerry's Sno Cones (hawaiian ice style) and so do outsiders! The line was out to the street for the whole time we were there. Order yours supreme for several layers of vanilla soft serve up the middle of the cup. Most of our group thought the wedding cake flavor was the best of the flavors we tasted. Next up and definitely a MUST!: Muddy's Bake Shop...yes, we definitely had to get this to go since we've already filled up on the other food, but it was great to take back to the house for snack. Some of our favorites included Prozac cupcakes, grasshopper mint cake, and peanut butter cupcakes, among others! Best cupcakes / cake EVER!! Minor suggestions for the owner of the house: The blender didn't work so thankfully we had brought one of our own. A little extra toilet paper would have been nice since we had a 4-night stay, but thankfully one of the girls thought to pick some up on our first shopping trip. Also, we would have loved to see a visitor's journal and food/attractions list that you personally recommend. We always prefer to find where the locals go when traveling!

Great family vacation!!
Great family vacation!!
We had the pleasure of renting the wonderful house from Larry and we were so impressed with all the house had to offer. There was plenty of room for my husband and I, my mother and father in law, sister in law and our 12 year old daughter. Our daughter loved the pool and used it every chance she could. Make sure you bring bug spray, it was muggy a few nights due to rain and that brought out a few pests. There are 3.5 bath rooms. There are two in the master suite, the kids room and one of the queen bedrooms doesn't have a bathroom. The half bath is off of the laundry room, which came in handy. This was ok for us for this trip but when we travel with other couples we typically like everyone to have their own private bathroom. The location was about 20 to 30 minutes to Memphis. If you are renting a car make sure you have GPS. The roads are a bit tricky and even with GPS it can be confusing especially at night. We went to the casino which was close. A word of caution, don't waste a visit to Paula Deen's buffet. The food was overrated and not very good. We enjoyed the use of the grill and had a great Father's Day dinner. Make sure you stock up on food and beverage supplies. There was a coffee maker which helped us start our day and we did buy coffee and filters. Overall we had a memorable time and we were so pleased to have the luxury of a home vs. staying in a hotel. I would recommend the house to my family and friends. Thank you Larry for opening your wonderful home to us.

Family from different states wanted to get together and we decided to look for a rental. This home was perfect. The owner graciously welcomed us upon our arrival and provided information about the home and the locations of interest in the area. The house was spacious and very nicely furnished. We were able to spend a lot of quality time together, rather than being stuck in hotel rooms. We were not far from Memphis or casinos, but far enough not be right on top of them. We all had a wonderful time here and we would highly recommend this home and owner.

Four Couple Road Warriors
Four Couple Road Warriors
The four couples came together to enjoy touring Memphis and visiting the casinos. The owner was terrific in preparing the property for us and meeting us to go over the house. The house was well stocked. The HD TV's and wifi made our down time very enjoyable. The temperatures during our stay prevented us from enjoying the beautiful pool but encouraged us to return during warmer weather. I strongly recommend this property for touring Memphis or gaming and golfing at the casinos.
