One word......Beautiful. We are a group that has been going away for 19 years now on Columbus Day Weekend. We have stayed in multiple condos, privates home (much smaller than this) in Maine,NH, and Nantucket, a castle in NH, and even rented an entire INN. This log cabin was one of the best finds. Plenty of room to spread out, awesome views in the back, plenty of privacy, and just a great place to stay. You are in your own world once you reach the cabin but yet close enough to towns for site seeing, shopping or dining out. We will definely be putting this home on the top of our list and will be back again soon.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We just spent a week at this beautiful cabin celebrating my husband's 80th birthday with 13 friends. Even with such a large group, there was plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. The cabin was warm and inviting with so many amenities. The kitchen and dining room were awesome and the views from the living room were spectacular. Enjoyed watching deer in the open fields in front of the cabin early morning and evenings. We even used the firepit one night, made s'amores, what fun! The owners had provided everything to make our stay enjoyable. If you're looking for a special vacation getaway, this would be the place to come.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

Just spent a wonderful week at this cabin in Vermont. This was our family's first attempt to all get together for a vacation. This cabin was perfect for our large group, and the owners were very helpful during the planning stages. There is lots of room, the beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen is a dream to use. Everything was clean and working well. We highly recommend this to anyone looking to get away from it all.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We contacted the owners in hopes of a last minute group getaway to the open air of VT. The owners could not have been more accommodating! The pictures do not begin to describe the majesty of this home and its setting. We really appreciated the amount of space the home provided- beds for everyone in our 12 person party and space to eat around the table together! We spent our nights around the fire pit and playing pool in the game room. Highly recommend this to large groups looking for a weekend away.Did you find this review helpful? Our group of 10 stayed in this home to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. This home is AMAZING!!!! The views are spectacular, and the decor of the home is so warm and inviting. While the pictures online are accurate, everything is so much better in person! The home was meticulously clean when we arrived and I think we spent the first hour just taking it all in! They really thought of everything when building and furnishing this place. We loved the open floor plan and natural light that fills the house. The 6 bedrooms are scattered throughout the 3 floors of the home which is great if you want to break away from the group and relax for a bit. We enjoyed fires each night in the great room fireplace and there is plenty of wood provided. There is plenty of seating in the living room and the furniture is incredibly comfortable. It was nice to have a big group and not have anyone have to sit on the floor. The kitchen is a chef's dream - we stayed in and cooked for every meal. It was so nice to vacation and have the same quality of appliances/pots/pans/silverware/etc that we do at home. The dining table seats maybe 16 or so and it was nice to be able to eat a meal together as a group. There are so many seats a the island in the kitchen that we ended up eating breakfast there a few days too. The hottub is excellent with gorgeous views, and plenty of towels are provided. We enjoyed sledding down the hill out back (bring your own sled), even though there was just a dusting of snow when we went. We enjoyed the pool table, and brought some board games to play. This place has amazing Bose sound systems on the first floor and basement, as well as a big screen tv and projector. We brought an ipod cord and were able to play our music through the system. Hundreds of DVDs are provided, but we did not use any. We were there to relax and enjoy the views so we never ended up turning on the TVs!! There is also a huge patio out back with a bonfire pit - this home would be great to visit in the winter OR summer. The owners have provided flyers to all local attractions, and a massive binder with instructions on how to use pretty much anything you can think of in the home. Very well organized! There is plenty of parking and a large dumpster which are both convenient. The only issue for some may be the driveway - it is quite long and steep and would be difficult in the snow/ice without 4WD. Overall, we LOVED it here and are already talking about going back!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Each year for the last several years , six couples who are great friends from around New England, rent a place to come together and spend a long weekend. Unless you are the ones planning the weekend . . the destination is a mystery until 24 hours before the time we meet at the location. We have been to New Hampshire and the coast of Maine a couple of times . . but this rental was absolutely perfect! Ray and Sherry have gone above and beyond to make this beautiful lodge inviting and pleasing to the eye and soul!! There was plenty of room for the twelve of us . . we could all sit together in the living room, around the dining room table and downstairs watching a movie in the "theater area". We used every facet of this impressive "home" . . the jacuzzi, the pool table, the bar, the firepit and the grill! We took a walk in the woods, saw deer in the driveway and counted the salamanders / newts on the driveway! We were happy and content staying "at home" or venturing out. The day trips to Harpoon Brewery, Vermont Country Store, Queeche Gorge and shops and Long Trail Brewery were memorable!! This place has all the comforts of home . .the kitchen has all the appliances you need to prepare appetizers to gourmet "mystery game night" meals!! After a long day . . there was ample sleeping spaces available. Mattresses and pillows were comfortable. All of each each had a queen or a king size bed . . it was great!! The place was as clean as can be! The weather was not the greatest while we were there . . but you know what? It didn't matter!! Special thanks to Sherry and Ray for sharing a very special hideway that will stay in our hearts and minds forever!! Just spend this past weekend at the house with several friends. The pictures of this house do not do it justice as this place is unbelievable. We could not have been happier with where we chose to spend our weekend away and we were all sad to leave. Everything in the house seemed to be brand new and as clean as can be. I recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a relaxing time away. As long as you have a car this is the place for you The views from the house are spectacular as well.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

I simply cannot rave enough about the Quinlans' cabin. This past weekend our group of 17 enjoyed the perfect weekend here celebrating my husband's 30th birthday. Despite having seen the photos of the cabin it still took our breath away as soon as we stepped in the door. To say the cabin is warm, inviting, elegant, luxe and luminous is an understatement. The open floor plan, soaring ceilings and spaciousness cannot be captured with words! Even with a full house of 17 the home still felt huge. The views are spectacular - it was difficult to motivate to doing anything else other than cozying up in the living room by the fire and marveling at the gorgeous property and view of Mt. Ascutney. Our group couldn't get enough of the gorgeous, high-end kitchen (we didn't even use the dining room table - all of ate around the kitchen island!), the indulgent hot tub, the cozy living room with grand fireplace and the beautiful rooms which slept 17 very comfortably. Thank you to Sherry and Ray for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your truly luxurious home. We can't wait to come back...now all we need is to come up with an excuse to!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.

Our group spent this Thanksgiving Break 2010 in this cabin- it was 4 days/nights of incredible, breathtaking views and beautiful accomodtions. This log cabin is huge & spectacular and the best part is that it is so secluded, on top of a large hill overlooking Mt. Ascutney and allows for complete privacy and a feeling of freedom and relaxation. The stars are exceptionally spectacular on a clear night from the outdoor jacuzzi or by the firepit in the back of the house. The kitchen, my favorite spot, is enormous and definately the heart of the home where everyone gathers. The entire layout of the house is wonderful, especially the main living floor - its open concept and grand- but with a cozy and warm feel to it that just warms your heart. This home is like straight out of a hunter's magazine....it is rustic, beautifully decorated, comfortable, and the handiwork of the construction is exceptional- we absolutley enjoyed every minute of our stay! - We highly recommend this rental if you are looking for an amazing country getaway to Vermont in a one of a kind log home that can accomodate large groups easily. You have a beautiful home, hands down the best we have ever rented- it took our breath away as soon as we entered it for the first time, down to the last detail. Thanks Sherry and Ray - we will be in touch for future rentals I'm sure!
