This cabin was a great way to start our Colorado vacation. The first night (June 19th) we had a storm overnight and woke up to snow...it was wonderful. Melted by 10am but the jack rabbit and coyote we saw loved playing in it. Over the next two days we saw a bear, elk, and a bull moose from the deck. The house was beautiful and clean. It has everything you would ever need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again !Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

We really loved our stay here in Fairplay. This house was immaculately clean, well maintained and was extremely well furnished (kitchen, kid stuff, entertainment, etc) . This is a great place to stay if you don't want to be around the tourist crowds and enjoy outdoor activities. All of the locals we talked to in Fairplay and Alma were wonderful and fun. I grew up in CO and finding and this place/location is a real gem for being away and still within reach of the crowds if you want. Colorado has great access to National Forest land and you can take advantage of a lot of it from here.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Had a great time at your home this past weekend. View was beautiful. Everything you could want or need was there. Right down to the dog food and water dishes! The kids enjoyed the movies and ping pong table, and we enjoyed the hot tub and much shorter drive to Breckenridge! We recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing mountain getaway!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My daughter rented this place for Christmas 2010 for us. Party of four all enjoyed the hot tub, nice meals cooked in the large, convenient, equipped kitchen. Much was provided for visitors. Son, daughter and daughter-in-law had so much fun on the pin ball machine. We will be back, without a doubt.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We have a family of 4 and were joined by our in-laws (plus a couple dogs!). We couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable time. The views were spectacular; it makes us realize what a beautiful state we live in! Included in the view are elk, deer, antelope, coyotes, etc, etc!!! Saw no bears this time around--oh well. Excellent access to great hiking and ATV trails. Scott and Sandy make sure that one feels at home their mountain retreat in Warm Springs! We are certain to come back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We had an excellent time at this cabin--4 adults and two boys. We didn't make use of the many movies which were available; in fact, we never turned on a TV or radio, just enjoyed the time together exploring the area and playing games after our dinners in the cabin. The kitchen was well-stocked with basics and the Safeway store in Fairplay provided the basics for our meals together. The listing showed it correctly, everything was clean and tidy, and we felt great about our first time using HomeAway.com. Having the walk-out basement was a bonus, as the boys could be enjoying the ping pong table while we adults "worked" at our card tournament. Mountain hikes, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, going up the gondola at Breckenridge--much fun in the area. And the boys certainly enjoyed getting "up close and personal" with the llamas at the Fairplay Burro Days. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

What a pleasant surprise, Your home exceded all of our expectations. A great view, & a great house with everything we needed. We hope to enjoy your home again, soon. The kids enjoyed the tv in all the bedrooms & the selection of movies & vidieo games. We had our 1 yr old with us & the gates & crib were a surprise. We won't have to bring them next time. Thank you for a smooth transaction & the prompt return of our deposit. Best regards, Mike & Diane BackousDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

Scott/Sandy, We truly enjoyed our weekend in the high country! The house is very nice and very peaceful and quiet. Just what we were looking for in relaxing getaway. We were amazed at all the things that had been thought from the well stocked kitchen to the fleece throws to take the chill off of the enjoyable mountain air. We will definitely be back! Scott and Sandy, We are not only former owners of a cabin rent business, but we have rented many, many cabins over the years, as we love to travel. Southern Comfort was one of the most beautiful places we have rented. It was immaculately clean, and wonderfully furnished and equipped. Since we find eating in so much more relaxing than eating out, a well equipped kitchen is very important to us, and your cabin's kitchen lacked for nothing. The view from the cabin is awesome: we had a whole morning of snow (something we do not see often in Georgia) and the aspens were gorgeous. You have made Southern Comfort the perfect place to build perfect memories. We will never forget the great time we had there, and if we ever go back to Fairplay, we know exactly where we want to stay. Thank you for the effort you have put into providing your guests with the perfect accommodation!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
