Perfect location to be for this busy city. Relatively safe--in a good neighborhood, good security system on the house. Great wifi. Well equipped kitchen. Must have a car, but the location is perfect for a retreat from the city, yet close enough to major attractions like Miraflores and Sobaneria National Park and the Pipeline road, Cerro Ancon, Amador causeway, Metropolitano Park, and downtown. We spent early mornings and late afternoons on the roof patio watching birds, agouti's and big boats going in the canal. Also very close to Albrook airport so it was always easy to find "home". Good shopping nearby. Couldn't ask for a better location or house for Panama City. The owner was responsive and very helpful. He even supplied us with a phone to call him with emergencies. We spent 2 great months in the house. Great location, very green and calm. Perfect base to explore and discover most points of interests of the Panama Province. Away from the crazy traffic jam of central Panama City. Very cosy house, spacious, clean, tastefully decorated, beautiful tiles, well equipped, we felt at home from day 1. We have 2 children (6 months old and 3 YO). We enjoyed the back terrace and garden to drink aperitifs "al fresco" or cook dinner on the bbq. The top terrace is a great spot to observe the local wildlife (Birds). One needs to wake up very early to enjoy it (like 6AM), but it is worth it! We enjoyed the next door swimming pool of Los Rios, where we met very friendly locals. We found the kids parks next door and the ones in the "Ciudad del Saber" very handy too. I stayed here with my husband and two small children. The house was impeccably clean, spacious, comfortable, and, most important of all, safe. Bird-watching in the early morning on the deck was a true delight. We saw parrots, parakeets, and lots of other birds flying by. In the neighbor's yard, we saw a ñeque walking about, too. :) Our stay was very comfortable, and I highly recommend staying here on your next vacation to Panama.Did you find this review helpful? Four of us (plus a baby) stayed here for 2 weeks and it was perfect. The best feature of the house is definitely the patio and deck - which we used most mornings and evenings. It's great for birdwatching - we saw two toucans! The house is in a quiet and safe residential area in the Canal Zone, with great access to the Miraflores Locks, Casco Viejo, the Causeway and the national parks. It's also very close to Albrook Mall and the domestic airport - which is great if you plan traveling within Panama.You can get taxis very easily from the main road - and it costs no more than 4 or 5 dollars to get to any of these places. The house is not in the heart of the city, which was a plus for us - since traffic is often terrible, and we loved being surrounded by the rainforest. I would certainly recommend this property. It's probably best suited to families - there is plenty of space; the neighbourhood is safe and there is a kids playground/basketball court at the end of the street. We really cherished our time here. Ibu and Pat (the owners) were extremely helpful, and gave us great advice about the rest of our holiday in Panama. Enjoy!Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: Ibu and Pat are currently settled in Boquete, Chiriqui after living in Panama City for over 30 years. Both are retired. Ibu from flying, and Pat from teaching.
Why the Owner Chose Clayton:
This cottage was originally built by the Panama Canal Company to house their US employees. When the Canal Zone reverted to Panama on 31 December 1999 in accordance to the 1976 Panama Canal Treaties between the US and Panama, those living in the houses were given 1st choice to purchase them. We did just that! Best place to live in Panama City. Close enough but away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

The neighborhood is definitely a family oriented one where most have lived there over 15 years. It's quiet and safe and the neighbors are just that: neighbourly.
