This is the nicest 2 bed/2 bath listing in all of St. Andrews! Take your pick of favorite spots to relax - sip a cold drink while watching the great blue herons strut by the lagoon from the wraparound deck overlooking the 14th hole of the Fazio golf course, or enjoy some quiet time in the beautiful living room or cozy den. This gorgeous, newly decorator-remodeled, two-bedroom, two-bath villa will surely please the most discriminating guests. Also, bring your computers as we have HIGH SPEED internet and wireless service!
We have rented vacation condominiums along the Eastern seaboard from the Outer Banks to Florida, but found ourselves returning to Hilton Head's Palmetto Dunes time and again. We "accidentally" saw the listing for this St Andrews Common address during a visit to Hilton Head, and knew before the week was out we had found a place where our family will be just as comfortable as we are at home.
Where do we begin to describe the amenities? Enter the front door and step onto the beautiful stone tile floor. Straight ahead find the lovely dining area with atrium style windows. One step down, the living area with designer furnishings beckons you to sit, relax, and gaze out at the gorgeous lagoon and golf course views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Enjoy a movie on the brand new 37' Flat Screen HDTV with DVD player or listen to your favorite CD. A wet bar with water filter, plus games, videos, and books are sure to guarantee "indoor" hours of fun.
The kitchen is amazing. Brand new throughout! All stainless-steel appliances (microwave/stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, sink), tile floors, and Silestone countertops. KitchenCraft cupboards are fully stocked with new dishes and glassware, flatware, cookware, and utensils. New, Maytag, full-size washer and dryer.
King-size bed comfort in master bedroom and access to the wraparound deck. There is also a new 32' flat screen HDTV with DVD player. Second bedroom has two twins and large closet. Bathrooms are better than new: sparking tiles, Silestone countertops, and KitchenCraft cupboards.
Cozy den area with a chair and 1/2 sleeper w/ottoman provides another sleeping accommodation. A separate deck off the den area offers a private retreat.
Palmetto Dunes has the best that Hilton Head can offer - one of the East Coast's premiere beaches, championship golf and tennis, fine dining, and miles of bicycling and walking trails. The Palmetto Dunes' Dune Buggy vans offer quick shuttle access to exceptional Shelter Cove Harbour shops and restaurants and the Disney Beach Pavilion. Disney facilities include a snack bar, restrooms, outdoor showers, and parking lot or bike rack for all Palmetto Dunes guests. We have two cruiser bikes for your use. Take them for a ride to the beach, just a short five minutes away!

Why the Owner Chose St. Andrews Common
Before purchasing in Palmetto Dunes, we had stayed in Sea Pines, Shipwatch, and Forest Beach. While Sea Pines is very nice, we felt it was just to far from all the amenities the island has to offer. Nice restaurants and shopping areas were just to far for us. Shipwatch & Forest Beach are definately a tier below Palmetto Dunes and Sea Pines. They are decent Plantations, but in our mind "just ok". Palmetto Dunes was the class of the island. Central island location, close to great shopping, world class tennis facilities, great golf courses, all in all it was just more "upscale" than other island locations. We chose St. Andrews in Palmetto Dunes primarly for the privacy it provides. Each building only has 4 units and there is virtually no noise. In addition we also discovered that the Regime (property association) was very active and financially sound. This explained why the property grounds, the pool area, etc. were so nicely maintained. Things had just been done "right".
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
Our property is one of the closest units to the Fazio Golf Course. We are on the 14th hole (par 3), but the way our Villa is situated there is no possibility of a stray golf ball coming our direction. We love the fact that the Villa is a 2nd floor unit. Each building has 4 Villas, two 1st floor and two 2nd floor units. 1st floor units have standard 8ft ceilings and many have a 3 ft brick retaining wall restricting the view. 2nd floor units have high vaulted ceilings which provide an atmosphere that the Villa is wide open. 2nd floor units also have wraparound decks that provide great views and can be accessed through 3 separate sets of double french doors. We love the fact that the mattress in the Master bedroom is the same mattress we have in our NC home. (pillow top) It is one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. My wife and I enjoy riding bikes while in HH, so we decided to buy 2 cruiser bikes to use. These bikes are also available to our guests. We installed Wireless Internet access a year ago and this is great for keeping up to date with our laptops. It was our goal to make the Villa seem like a home and we love walking into the property for the first time and having that feeling.

We purchased our Villa while on a vacation trip to HHI. It was our 4th visit in less than a year. My wife and I had discussed the idea of one day owning beach property, but not until we walked into this St. Andrews Common Villa did we actually becomed motivated enough to pursue our dream. We had been married for 25 years and had rented many, many, beach properties from the Outer Banks to Florida. This Villa just blew us away. The previous owner had not rented the property and 6 months before selling they decided to put $40,000 into it and totally remodeled the Villa. They had very good taste and put the best appiances, fixtures, and furniture in the unit. The couch was a $3500 piece of furniture and we considered removing it and taking back to our home in NC but the colors didn't match our home. This couch is still in our Villa and the quality is still fantastic. We named our contact email address for the Villa "justsayahh" as everytime we walked into the property for the first time, my wife would let out this big sigh, "Ahh".

We've enjoyed our visits to Hilton Head Island thanks to this wonderful home-away-from home. Well appointed and centrally located, we find 1977 St. Andrew's Common the perfect place to relax as well as to take advantage of the nearby bike paths, beaches, and especially the golf courses. This villa is spacious, bright with sunshine, and very comfortable. We keep coming back!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children.
