Welcome to the well-renowned village Pont-Aven. This picturesque village is located on the west coast of France at the tip of the Aven River. This was once the home of watermill owners and shipping merchants. Today, the river offers shelter to oyster and mussel farms, which are a local delicacy. Drawn by Pont-Aven’s unmatched beauty and light, Paul Gauguin lived here to create much of his work. The artistic community and tradition remains strong. The village is home to the Pont-Aven School of Contemporary Art. The cottage was completely remodeled in the Brittany traditions in 2008. You will be staying in the center of the village. You can enjoy the local restaurants, cafes, bakery shops, markets, art galleries and the marina. Boat and canoe rentals are available seasonally at the port. All of this is within 50 to 300 yards from the house, where you can park your car and start enjoying life in Pont-Aven.
