  My family and I just returned from 10 days in Tulemar. I must say, it was one of the best vacations we have ever had. The house we stayed in Casa de Frutas was truly magical, the beaches were beautiful and pristine, and our days were filled with joy and relaxation. Dave and Mauricio took care of everything, from adventure activities to dinner reservations. I only wish Mauricio could come back to LA and take care of us here! My family has made me promise to return to Tulemar, and I can't wait to go back myself.

  I'm not sure I can even describe how amazing the views are...from the moment we walked in the door I was blown away, the pictures don't do justice to how absolutely gorgeous everything is. I would give more than 5 stars if available. My husband and I traveled with 2 other couples to Casa De Frutas. When we arrived we were greeted by Dave and his staff, I've never felt so welcome and appreciated. The service was outstanding, Mauricio was amazing..he helped us prepare for our trip before we even left the states. We booked about a year in advance, he kept in contact with us and sent helpful info on Costa Rica & available activities. After we arrived he and Julien kept track of everything for us! The amenities are fabulous. We took advantage of the adult pool, massages by the pool and in our home, in home chef two of the nights we stayed (delicious!!!) the beach is also close a few min walk or take the complementary shuttle. I took advantage of the photography lesson, it was wonderful and Sarah was so nice and helpful! (thanks Sarah!) The girls on the trip also had a private yoga session (thanks Sylvia). Others did deep sea diving, fishing, zip-lining, tons of stuff to do. We visited a few shops, and tried many of the recommended restaurants. The house is absolutely amazing! Truly 5 star, one of a kind, beautiful...it also has its own pool which we took advantage of the entire week. The beds are wonderful, tons of space, styled perfect, gorgeous flowers throughout, however, truly the most amazing thing of all is the view...I can't say enough...its breathtaking! Loved being able to watch all the wildlife, especially the monkeys..I miss them already :) I can't wait to return, and have nothing but great things to say! Stayed March 2013, traveled with friends

  Absolutely out of this world on every measure. Ideal location for an active family of five looking for adventure but also quality down time. The villa and views were breath taking in every direction. Very friendly staff providing guidance and direction when required. Easy distance to numerous restauarants and activities. We have no reservations about returning for the full experience once again Stayed December 2012, traveled with family

  Casa de Frutas was absolutely perfect. The house Is gorgeous and there is nothing you could possibly need that has not already been thought of and provided for. Mauricio is a wonderful host and the rest of the staff could not be nicer. A first-class week in every respect.

  We had the most amazing stay at Tulemar. We specifically stayed in the Casa De Frutas Villa which was spectacular! The location was perfect; easy access to the various pools, private beach, and walking distance to other restaurants and shops in Manuel Antonio. The complimentary shuttle service served us very well getting back and forth to the beach as well as around the complex. There is wildlife and natural beauty everywhere!! It is truly the most beautiful place. The staff was absolutely amazing. Helpful, knowledgeable, and would go out of their way to make our stay more comfortable, relaxing, and fun. Mauricio, Fabian, Eduardo, Jose, Christian, Mayella, and Sandra made our trip fabulous. This was an incredible place to stay. I highly recommend staying here!!!! Stayed December 2012

  So I just went back to Costa Rica the last week in Oct through the first week of Nov with 4 other fiends. Another awesome experience. The first day we got there we had a Sloth right outside the balcony sitting on the very top of the tree just staring into the sunset.There were a lot more monkeys this time around. This would be my 2nd time staying at Casa De Frutas in Tulemar within a year. That's how wonderful of a place it really is. If its your first time traveling to Costa Rica I would recommend this place by far. If its not, I still recommend it. Its a gated community with 24 hr security, the BEST hosts and housekeepers anyone could ask for while on vacation. How many places do you know of that welcome you at the door in person, offer you just about anything you need, plan all your excursions even do laundry everyday and have it folded on your bed? You can literally show up with no itinerary and with the help of Dave and Mauricio you can have your week planned out within no time. Of course I can't forget to mention the private beach available for those staying in Tulemar. Its a small quiet beach which includes a beach bar AWESOME food, kayaks, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, towels, restrooms and just an all around amazing atmosphere. Right outside the Tulemar community are lots of restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance or a short trip via taxi. You won't find much of locals begging for change in this area at all. Everyone pretty much keeps to themselves and goes along their daily business. My experience with the locals is they have all been very nice and polite. Its not often where you can have almost a full open air home where you can capture some of the most amazing sunsets you will ever experience right from the house. Not only that but lightening storms as well. Thanks again Dave, Mauricio, and the rest of the staff!!! and of course thanks to Daniela and Lou for making our beach time a wonderful experience and great conversation.

  From the friendly staff when you book your trip to the bar tender at the beach, the staff at Tulemar are amazing! I spent 7 days with four other friends at Casa De Frutas and had the most relaxing trip ever! From the minute you are greeted by the staff at the house and walk through the door and see the most amazing view of the ocean you know you are in for a awesome trip. The amenities and detail to the property are that of a 5 star resort. The private beach in Tulemar is breathtaking. The food and drinks at the beach restaurant are sooo good! If your looking for a trip to paradise, look no further!!

  When you first drive up too Casa de Frutas you know there something wonderful behind the wall...when you walk through the front doors it is breath taking...the views are magnificent, the home is awesome. You will be pampered from the time you get there till the time you leave. You are on hillside in the middle of a jungle with the Pacific Ocean surrounding you..The sunsets are outstanding. The rooms are fabulous. The rainforest of Manuel Antonio National Park offers many types of foliage and flower of all kind. You are a walk away from the private beach where you will receive more pampering from the Chef and his staff . The food is outstanding.There is boogie boards and kayaks. Monkeys will do their best to entertain you. If you feel like staying in for the evening have your own private chef cook a gourmet dinner for you. Want to go site seeing Mauricio will make all your arrangements and will attend to you every need. Don't miss the zip lining it was the best. Go for a private sailboat ride or just relax by the beach. I am sure your stay will be amazing as was mine. I can't wait to return. Enjoy Casa de Frutas it is truly magical.

  I am so fortunate to have traveled to Costa Rica and no less to an amazing destination in Tulemar! I traveled with family and friends and can't think of a more fantastic magical place to have traveled. The views were absolutely breath taking, better than any magazine or photograph could have captured. The entire experience was unbelievable from the amazing staff; Mauricio especially truly exceeded my expectations, the private beach below and the stunning house. We even splurged one night on a personal chef, Desiree Brassert...all I can say is I was part of the clean plate club and was asking for seconds. Absolutely delicious and amazing! I will definitely be back! Nothing else compares to this trip! I have been to Europe, Italy, Hawaii, to name a few. Costa Rica by far exceeds these previously traveled destinations. Thank you Mauricio for making this trip an experience I will never forgot and I will most certainly be back in the near future. To those who haven't had the opportunity, all I can say, is that you are missing out on a truly amazing experience and travel destination! Until next time, "Pura Vida."

  Made our third trip to Costa Rica in the past 18 months in September. As with the first two trips, it was fantastic. All three times we have stayed in Tulemar, but this time was extra special because we stayed at Casa de Frutas. Wow! We stayed in Casa Panorama the first two times and we thoroughly enjoyed it, but Casa de Frutas was a cut above. We stayed with another couple and a solo traveler. The other couple was celebrating a special anniversary and they stayed in the master bedroom. What a great place to celebrate a special occasion. The downstairs bedrooms are truly suites. Private patios, efficiency kitchens, dining area, all with a view of the Pacific. I don't want to forget to mention our concierge, Mauricio. He is fantastic. He arranges all excursions for you, makes reservations for dinner and can arrange all sorts of unique activities, like a lunch out in a palm orchard. He even brought warm homemade brownies by one afternoon. Also, our host, Dave was amazing. He knows everything about the area and whatever he recommends that you do while here, you should definitely do it. He won't steer you wrong! If you are heading down to Manuel Antonio check this place out! Stayed September 2012

  Thanks to Dave and Mauricio and staff my family and I enjoyed the royal treatment that comes with staying at Casa De Frutas in Tulemar, a gated community, in Manuel Antonio. When you first step into the magnificent open air home you feel the warmth and beauty of the Bali furnishings. Take a few steps and you will be wowed by the panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean with her beautiful sunsets! The home is nestled in the hills of the rainforest so nature's environment offers lush and green foliage, flowering plants and the sounds that come from insects and animals who live among us. We would cool down in the infinity pool watching the the tucans eating berries from the trees above us. Tulemar offers a beautiful sandy and private beach on the ocean. There is complimentary use of kayaks, boogie boards, lounge chairs and umbrellas as you soak up the sun's rays. My favorite is the beach bar and restaurant where Chef Paul and his assistant Lou cook up a delicious breakfast or lunch along with the speciality drinks. It is the most relaxing place as you watch the tide come and go. Professional concierge, Mauricio, attends to your every wish in that he handles all the reservations for restaurants and tours and recommends great ideas like white water rafting, canopy ride, deep sea fishing, buggy ride to the waterfalls, mangrove boat ride and escorted tour of Manuel Antonio National Park the second largest and busiest park in Costa Rica. You will be amazed at the beauty of the grounds, home, views and pampering received at Casa De Frutas. I'm excited to return.

  Our house( casa de frutas) at tulemar was an amazing design with every amenity you could need. And if you did have a need the helpful staff goes out of their way to accomodate. The house is a short walk from the private beach and a short drive from an amazing national park. We saw wildlife everyday (even from the backyard) and the local restaurants, shops and bars provided just about everything else we could want on a vacation. But honestly, we liked to lounge around the private infinity pool most of our vacation.But thanks to our concierge Mauricio we were able to get away from the house and do some hiking, white water rafting and sight seeing. Thanks again Mauricio! Kind of hard to put into words what a wonderful time we had. Highly recommend casa de frutas in Tulemar.

  Casa de Frutas, Costa Rica If I had to be brief, spectacular would be my word of choice. However, Manuel Antonio, Tulemar, and especially Casa de Frutas deserve so much more than brevity. If you want to enhance your life simply go to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica and stay in a Tulemar vacation home . If you want to have an exceptional life experience, stay at Casa de Frutas, in Tulemar. These three words, Casa de Frutas, are all you need to know to guarantee a great vacation experience. If you like that “wow” feeling, merely open the front doors of Casa de Frutas during daylight hours, the views are breathtaking. The attention to design, style and detail by the owner David are just as impressive as the views .The house staff are friendly and very accommodating. The fresh cut flowers tastefully display throughout the house is a touch of class you will enjoy daily. Then there is the intangible aspect. That would be the domain of Mauricio, master concierge. Whether it is telling you the best places for dinning, setting up a great masseuse or sharing a Costa Rican cultural tidbit, having access to Mauricio drops another 5 points on your stress-o-meter. Which at this point should be around 1. And that’s only because you still have to decide what to wear each day…swim suit or cargo pants. Indulge yourself, it’s your vacation

  This was our second time staying in Tulemar at Casa de Frutas. We would highly recommend this vacation and villa to anyone who wants to enjoy relaxation, amazing adventure, beautiful scenery, and an incredible casa. Casa de Frutas is situated perfectly atop a hill that provides magnificent views in every direction. The amenities are incredible and all staff members were helpful with any questions and accommodations. Dave and Maricio are perfect hosts and helped make our vacation unforgettable.   7 of us recently spent 7 nights at Casa De Frutas in Tulemar and I would definitely recommend it to any group of friends or family. We walked into a beautiful 2 story home in a jungle like setting over looking the pacific ocean. The home was beautifully decorated with live tropical flowers, had all the amenities you would have at home including a large fully equiped kitchen. The Sloth visit was an awesome experience not to mention the group of small monkeys that made their late afternoon visits. There's a beautiful private beach down the steep road which I recommend anyone to walk at least once to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. There is also transportation to and from the beach within minutes. The beach also has a bar and outdoor restaurant. They have an amazing menu and I must say their fish sandwich was the BEST I've ever had. The beach also provides beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, boogie boards and kayaks. The whole week we were there the beach was quiet and a real enjoyable place to grab an ice cold drink and soak up some sun. We got to experience a thunderstorm on avg once a day late afternoon. Mauricio and Dave were outstanding hosts, available at anytime to help with recommendations, planning our excursions, dinner plans, and arranging our transportation. I have to say the staff were truly amazing friendly people. It was always nice to come back to the house after a long day of fun to see my laundry clean and folded on the bed. I can't wait to come back and see Mauricio, Dave and the staff smiling faces. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an enjoyable vacation in the jungle with superior service.

  Five of us stayed at Casa de Frutas for 10 days in May 2012. First of all, the home was amazing. The view from the house and the pool actually made it hard to get motivated to go to the beach. Why leave when you have everything you need? Of course, we got out and about, and when we returned, it was like walking into a brand new house again. Housekeeping was that good. The entire staff was incredible. Dave, Mauricio, and Julien make you feel like old friends. This is truly a vacation home where one can sit back, relax, and let someone take care of you.

  It is uncommon when an entire group's expectations are so far exceeded by the beauty, comfort, and hospitality of a luxury vacation environment. Casa de Frutas blew us away. The house was gorgeous and luxurious, yet comfortable and felt like home as soon as we arrived. The property had a natural feel but was meticulously designed and maintained. The service was spectacular, yet never intrusive. Planning activities through the property management was a breeze, and included things like white water rafting, expert-guided park tours, couples' massages, and any other of the numerous activities available in the area. Local restaurant recommendations were helpful, and the food around town is delicious. Of all the wonderful things about Casa de Frutas, our favorites were how easy it was to enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica and each other's company from our awesome vacation home.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  My stay was absolutely fantastic!!!! From the time we checked in it was pure heaven. The service was impeccable and exceeded all my expectations!!! The home was amazing and every night I looked forward to watching the sunset on the bay from the patio!!! The food that was served on the private beach was probably some of the best food I had on the whole trip. The service from the friendly staff was amazing and they catered to my every need. I cannot wait to book my next stay!!

  A truly wow! experience. The Villa easily accommodated the two other couples we vacationed with - spaces for group gatherings and sunset martinis, and very private spaces for 'quiet time'. The best surprise was the attention to detail for amenities, and especially our 'own' concierge, Mauricio. He checked with us every day for tour bookings, as well as dinner reservations. He helped us with any request. Both he and Dave were attentive. It was a true, relaxing get-away.

  We stayed at Casa De Frutas for the second time. Our family "had" a "no return to same place vacation" rule that we broke and returned to Casa De Frutas one year later for - and we WILL be back. It was as wonderful the second time as the first. Dave Houck and Mauricio really do know how to make people's vacations absolutely perfect. They are FANTASTICO EXCELENTE!! :) All the little details, the house, the staff, the tulemar staff - Dave at the beach one of our favourite people, the whole experience - amazing. Highly recommend this vacation experience. We did the private sailboat excursion and the 10 in 1 ADR adventure. Both were great - the sailing was out of this world. Sad to leave - what a special place. Worth every penny. LOVE Costa Rica, LOVE the people, LOVE Casa De Frutas!

  Our family of 4 stayed at Casa de Frutas for a week in April. This was our second visit to Tulemar, we love it so much. Casa de Frutas is an extraordinary house. The panoramic ocean view is incredible. The open air common space feels exotic while remaining comfortable, practical and safe. The house is appointed with anything and everything you could possibly ask for- and more- pack light! The decor is unparalleled; elegant, functional, and gorgeous. Fresh, beautiful and plentiful flower arrangements add a a luxurious homey feel. The separate pool area is perfect for relaxing. We all loved the gigantic covered "lounge chair" (for lack of a better term). It was big enough for all four of us to stretch out and read in the afternoon heat, then go for a dip to cool off, and even if there is an afternoon rain shower, your book stays dry while you experience the jungle & vista from your cozy nook. Mauricio & Dave are a great team. Gracious and friendly, they make your whole vacation more pleasant by arranging everything with ease. You can completely trust their recommendations on which tours, activities, restaurants or other services to try. We loved and appreciated the many special treats planned for us, like to traditional Tico breakfast and the cold coconut milk after a long day of surfing. The staff; Christian, Sandra & Mayella work quietly in the background to make your stay complete. Each of them did something above- and- beyond for us without seeming contrived. They are genuinely nice people who appear to enjoy what they do. We absolutely recommend chef Chris, for a private dining experience. He and his assistant Michael (who makes mean cocktails both leaded & unleaded for the kids) are a pleasure. Chris's food is delicious. His menus are familiar without being common and he takes obvious pride in his cooking and his presentation- pura vida! We have two kids, 11 and 8, and we were also surprised to learn that the two additional bed bedrooms are on the lower floor and you cannot get between them without going outside (there is no internal staircase) which made us nervous. This issue was put to rest for us, however, when Mauricio & Dave managed to procure a baby monitor all the way from San Jose. It works perfectly, the children shared a room and we were able to hear their every word... for better and for worse:-) I would book it again now that i know the monitor works and I could sleep soundly! In short, Casa de Frutas, is Pura Vida!

  Breathtaking views, a house without walls, beautiful surroundings, wonderfully kind people, waking up to the noises of the jungle, all that adding up to Paradise at Casa de Frutas in Tulemar! We can’t wait to go back! Casa de Frutas is the most beautiful home, with all the amenities you could want plus the feel of a comfortable island home. The view of the Pacific Ocean and incredible sunsets only added to the relaxation in a gorgeous spot on the side of a mountain. We so enjoyed lounging by the infinity pool, seeing monkeys outside in the trees and beautiful birds and the sounds of the wild. Loved having the private beach at Tulemar where you could order lunch and drinks and enjoy all kinds of water sports with the equipment provided. We were blessed by the staff at Casa de Frutas, Mauricio, Magela, Sondra and Christian. They were a huge part of making our stay so relaxing and fun. We appreciated all that they did for us during our stay. This is one place you must put on your bucket list! It is incredible.

  What words are there for paradise? First, you should know Casa de Frutas is even better than the photos -- and those are pretty spectacular. This is luxury at its best.   We've been fortunate to have rented beautiful homes all over the world, and -- hands down -- this is the finest. The pictures simply don't do it justice. Once you realize how amazing the place is.. you won't want to leave. But if you do, Mauricio will be there to handle it.. whether it's a dinner reservation, a white-water water rafting trip, private surfing lessons or a massage.. he will make it happen. We never expected this amazing service. Our family enjoyed days at the private beach, dinners of fresh seafood prepared by a chef who came to us and activities including jet skiing and zip-lining. But we were always anxious to come back. It's always a leap of faith when you rent a home for your vacation. Not in this case. If you can find a vacancy at Casa de Frutas, book it. And know, there's a family in Texas very jealous about your upcoming visit!

  I chose Casa de Frutas in Tulemar to celebrate my 60th birthday Jan 28th to Feb 4th, 2012. I couldn't have chosen a more beautiful place. The views from every room are stunning. It takes your breath away. Photos cannot capture this incredible home and location. The staff and service were beyond belief wonderful. Mauricio, our concierge was great!! We hired Chef Chris for an entire day for my celebration. He was fantastic! Wonderful personality and he prepared delicious food. Highly suggest you treat yourself to at least one meal prepared by a private chef. Get Chris if you can. I cannot recommend staying within Tulemar enough. We saw more wildlife here than anywhere else. We saw sloths beside the house along with visiting troops of squirrel and capuchin monkeys. So many beautiful birds right in front of us. We were even treated to a rare whale sighting in Tulemar bay. The beach is wonderful. I have some mobility problems so the shuttle to and from the beach was a godsend. Food and drinks at the beach bar/restaurant were good. I honestly cannot imagine staying anywhere other than within Tulemar. The location and perks were invaluable. I had high expectations that were more than exceeded. It was indeed a dream vacation come true.

Photos cannot capture this incredible home and location. We chose to eat most of our meals at the casa. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. If you don't want to cook Mauricio is always available to make dining arrangements at any local restaurant. The entire home has all you could want and then some. Every detail has been given much attention. No review would be complete without mentioning the staff. All I can say is wow!!! Every single person was exceptional from Mauricio, our concierge to the gardener who was always quick to point out numerous flora and fauna. The ladies who took care of the house were very professional, friendly and talented flower arrangers. I miss every single staff member. I had high expectations that were more than exceeded. It was indeed a dream vacation come true. I would return in a heartbeat.

  This is the best vacation that I have ever had. The location was breathtaking with all the lush vegetation and ocean views. Everything about the villa casa de frutas was extravagant and gorgeous including the exotic flowers everywhere and the monkeys outside. The service down to every last detail was exemplary and included reservations for restaurants and excursions, multiple surprise gifts and beds made up with fresh ironed sheets every day. The people were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful, towels, lounge chairs and umbrellas provided and the ocean was warm and fun for body surfing. Every amenity seemed to be available, the drinking water was clean and the food delicious. We had an amazing time in this pure paradise.

  In all my travels around the world, never have I experienced such splendor. Paradise pales in comparison with this retreat. From the moment we arrived at the villa we were treated like royalty. Everyone was waiting to greet us when we arrived and the villa far surpassed our every expectation. The attention to detail was amazing. We could not have asked for more. It was fabulous being able to simply talk to Mauricio about our wishes regarding restaurants and excursions and have him arrange every detail from transportation to reservations. There was so much to do (beautiful beach, amazing animals at your doorstep, zip lining, white water rafting, fabulous restaurants ect. We will have to come back. Thank you Dave, Mauricio and allof your amazing staff. We leave totally rested and renewed.

  "There are no photos that can show the perfection of Casa Frutus." Before leaving for Costa Rica, we checked out Casa de Frutus on the Internet and were most impressed. However, ther are no photos that can show the peace, calm and serenity of the elegant surroundings. The views and sunsets were breathtaking. The staff was efficient and pleasant in addition to providing us with stunning artistic floral arrangements throughout the Casa. Dave and Mauricio took on the responsibility of seeing to our every wish and need and made all the arrangments for our taxis, restaurants and tours, leaving us to simply enjoy ourselves. After two weeks, we returned home relaxed and re-enegerized. This was a perfect holiday!

  Casa de Frutas was the experience of a lifetime. I traveled the world in my working life, but never encountered the service and amenities provide by Dave and Mauricio and their team. From the greeting upon arrival to the fairwell, they were there to see to our every need, but they weren't underfoot either. The home was absolutely beautiful, but only exceeded by the views from the open air living spaces. A terrific kitchen to work in if you so choose. The swimming pool was a daily stop after getting back from the days activities and just as a peaceful gathering space with world class views. Sleeping accomodations were very comfortable. Overall a 12 on a scale of 10! Tulemar as a community was superb - the beach, the local pools, breakfast, the Bloody Marys and Mojitos!! As with Dave and his team, the Tulemar folks were equally ready to make you at home. Quepos/ Manuel antonio is a wonderful part of the world. Great local restaurants, zip lining, world class fishing, beautiful beaches - just to name a few of the available experiences. Or, relax and take in the views and enjoy the wildlife! Our visit to Casa de Frutas was truly one of those few life experiences which met every hope and expectation, accented by wonderful people.

  We stayed in Dave's house for a week. From the second that we arrived, it was perfection. The full staff was waiting for us, the driver that Mauricio arranged had already taken us to lunch and to see the crocodiles and Dave and Mauricio were on hand to show us everything. They had fresh fruit and snacks ready, what a welcome! We have traveled quite a bit and rented several large houses in Europe, Dave's house was my favorite of them all. I never tired of looking out at the gorgeous view. The kids rooms were downstairs, it would not be a good arrangement if you only had small children, but it is perfect if you have older children because we all had our own space. Wonderful Mauricio arranged for us to go ziplining, atving, and white water rafting -- he also rented a sailboat with a crew for us, helped us find a surf instructor and a private yoga teacher who came to the house, a chef who cooked a terrific meal for us all and a masseuse who came to the house. I was also able to pay a little extra to have the wonderful cleaning ladies do our laundry (so it was a real vacation!) The private beach was perfect -- fun for boogie boarding but not too rough. Kayaking was easy and fun for the kids. The bar was good and the people were friendly and you don't have to worry about your stuff getting taken, it's all private. The shuttle drivers took us to the beach and back each day (too steep to walk with tired kids), so it could not have been easier. Rent this house, you will not regret it (but don't tell all of your friends, I want to go back!!)

  Casa De Frutas is absolutely stunning. We did not want to leave. The people who looked after Casa De Frutas from the owner to the groundskeeper were all first class. Mauricio, our concierge, was very helpful in coordinating every detail. We especially liked our dinners prepared in the house by Christopher and Mykal. The housekeepers were especially attentive in keeping everything tidy and nice. Costa Rica itself is beautiful and we took advantage by doing activities (zip lining, horseback riding, repelling, jet skiiing, Atving, whitewater rafting, etc.) every day. But it was such a great feeling to return to Casa De Frutas at the end of the busy day.

  It looked and sounded great on the website, and was even better in person. The house is really magnificent, the view is incredible, and the resort beach is perfect. Dave and Mauricio took care of everything we needed including answering all of our pre-arrival questions and helping us book our daily activities. They know the area well, and hook you up with the best guides and restaurants. We especially appreciated the daily extras, such as warm brownies. My facebook pictures of our trip to Casa de Frutas in Manuel antonio were instant hits among family and friends. My family had a really fantastic experience, and I recommend Casa de Frutas without reservation, knowing that your expectations will not only be met, but exceeded in every way.

  We were seeking a relaxing, low-stress escape, and Casa de Frutas ws the perfect destination. The house is beautiful and well-designed, with three separate suites that allow privacy when you want it and shared living space. The views from every room are magnificent - rain forest and ocean. We loved the fact that there is no real distinction between indoors and outdoors - you really experience the exotic environment, complete with the sounds of exotic birds, monkeys and of course, the ocean. The service is impeccible, from the daily cleaning/ maintenence, an attentive personal concierge, and the fact that our host obviously has strived to anticipate every need. The special extras - like homemade brownies, a chef-cooked breakfast, dropping off a tray of tropical fruits - really put it over the top. The grounds at Tulemar are as beautifully lush as the nearby Manuel antonio National Park. There is a convenient shuttle service for the grounds and some nearby restaurants/shops, but we often walked - a nice hike from the house to the pools, beach or retail area. Overall, an amazing experience.

  After a long travel day, we were greeted with warm welcoming smiles at the front entrance of Casa de Frutas. Dave, Mauricio and the staff then served each of us with a refreshing eucalyptus scented face towel - soon I would realize this would be just one of the many ways would impress us during our week-long stay. There's a distinct feeling of attention to detail - they seem to anticipate what you will need before you even realize it yourself - I think their personal mission must be to make every moment as perfect, and as memorable as possible. They then opened the large beautiful double door, and we walked inside. There isn't a picture on their site or comment you will read that can prepare you for that moment! The open air living, the stunning ocean view, and rain forest surrounding you, the warm breeze, the tasteful luxurious bali style design that showcases complete comfort and tropical living. Words or images can't capture how breathtaking this villa truly is. We felt extremely safe, well catered to; our every need or desire taken care of. We had two families which included 3 boys ages 10, 12 and 13, and there was more than enough space and plenty of activities to keep us busy when we wanted - Mauricio has the magic touch in organizing anything from dining to excursions. We saw more wildlife sitting at our kitchen table then we did walking through the National Park. This is a "pinch me" rental that's all about "the good life". I'm conflicted in recommending it because selfishly, I want it all to myself. The only thing I would change is to lengthen my stay which I hope to do next time

  Words can really not describe the stunning beauty nor the exceptional way you are treated at Casa De Frutas! This is a one of a kind experience is all I can say. There is a not a single thing that could be improved - unless Dave, Mauricio and the staff can figure out how to slow down time! This part of Costa Rica is stunning but they truly made the difference. Mauricio is a delight and takes all of the 'work" out of important vacation decisions. We loved "Dave" at the beach. All of the staff - Chris, the girls who made the home an oasis of perfection each day, the shuttle drivers...Wow. You truly feel special - in a special place. I would list all of the wildlife we saw right from the house but the review would be too long! One FYI for parents is our boys and our nephew are 10, 12 & 13 - and I wouldn't recommend kids any younger in this house, but for those with more mature kids, and for adults - Perfecto!!!

  Casa de Frutas far exceeded our expectations. There is no way we could have imagined all that we experienced during our stay. Casa de Frutas provided an open air architectural masterpiece, spectacular views, abundant monkey activity, a truly private beach and much welcomed pampering. We especially appreciated our warm welcome by the entire staff, the delivery of warm brownies after a long day at the beach, our authentic Costa Rican breakfast and the incredible floral arrangements found throughout the house. Dave, Mauricio and staff delivered the perfect balance between making sure our every need was met and allowing us privacy to enjoy the house. Furthermore, Manuel antonio is a gem itself. It has great restaurants, a variety of excursions available and the friendliest people I have ever encountered in all my travels.

  Our adventure begins as we pull up to the front of Casa de Frutas and Mauricio, Dave and the staff are greeting us with smiles and a sip of the local fair. The house was all it was said to be and more. The comfort of your own home with the services of a five star hotel. Our week was full of activities that Mauricio recommended and help arrange. The evenings were spectacular and relaxing. But its really the service that Dave and Mauricio provide that made the week so special. Just enough, not over the top, but always helpful when needed. To give you an idea of the extra effort they put in to making sure your stay is special, on the last day of our trip we told Mauricio that our daughter in law wanted to make sure that we get pictures of a sloth. Well we had not seen one yet. Monkeys yes but no sloths. About a 1/2 hour later we get a knock at the front door and it's Mauricio and the crew. Sure enough they had gone sloth searching and found not just one but 4 to show us and get pictures. Way to go guys. Thanks again for a very special week. George, Jan Karen and Jeff!

  My family had a fabulous week at Casa de Frutas, located inside of beautiful Tulemar Gardens. Dave, the owner, is a gracious host. Mauricio, the house manager (and more) is a gem. Trust me, you will want to take Mauricio home with you! The staff is top notch. Think the Ritz Carlton brand is the best? Think again...Casa de Frutas is hands down the best! The villa is absolutely beautiful, and the attention to detail is amazing. The villa overlooks the Pacific Ocean. We have fabulous pictures of the sun setting each evening. We walked to the private beach several times throughout our stay and enjoyed brunch and drinks at the beach. Life should be like this every day! What a treat to leave cold and snowy Michigan and travel to beautiful Costa Rica. My family had a great week, and we all voted this the best vacation ever. If you want to experience paradise, then I offer three words...Casa de Frutas!

  Casa de Frutas is a fabulous property situated in beautiful Tulemar Gardens. The villa is beautiful, and the attention to detail is amazing. My family voted this trip to Costa Rica and, specifically, to Casa de Frutas the best vacation ever! We loved seeing the sloths, the iguanas and the monkeys from the terrace....which just happens to overlook the Pacific Ocean. Dave, the owner, was extremely gracious. Mauricio, the house manager (and more) is a gem. The staff took great care of the villa and grounds. For all of the reasons listed above, my family hated to leave. Leaving the cold and snow behind us in the US and coming to Costa Rica was wonderful. Every day we were at the Casa de Frutas was a day in Paradise!

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The activities Maurico arranged were unbelievably fun and the days spent on the community's private beach were just splendid. However my favorite part of this vacation home was the view!   I traveled with 9 friends down to Manuel antonio and stayed at Casa de Frutas. I could not believe how beautiful the house was and how exceptional the staff was. We were greeted like celebrities and treated as such our entire vacation. Plans made through Mauricio and Dave were executed flawlessly. They never missed a beat and in turn we were able to enjoy our vacation completely! I am definetly coming back and I will be recommending Tulemar to my friends and family!
