David and Patti could not have been nicer nor the cottage more comfortable. They welcomed my four-legged traveling buddy Lily with open arms. The cabin is spacious, private and wonderfully equipped with every comfort one could want, including a sweeping view of the valley below and mountains all around. I had strong wi-fi and was able to catch up on some work I would rather not have had to do, but I could sit in the sun at the little dining table in the quiet and peaceful surroundings, so it wasn't all bad. And It was a great jumping-off point to the Nat'l park right in their backyard as well as just an hour or so away from the lower desert, Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, etc. The landscape was peaceful and zen-like and I was lulled into relaxation by the surroundings of Joshua Tree and my perfect little abode. I plan to return and would not hesitate to ask David and Patti to have me back. I highly recommend this 'clean and cozy' getaway in the high desert of California. Thanks David and Patti.

Owner response: We're happy when our guests are happy...including their four legged friends. Our cottage is unique to the area; built as the guest house for one of the first homes in Joshua Tree. Completely renovated with modern conveniences, it provides a restful and relaxing respite.

We really liked staying at the cottage: it was quite and comfortable and the kitchen had all I needed to cook our meals. We appreciated the welcoming visit by the owners. We'll definitely recommend to friends, if any happen to visit the area.

Owner response: We are always pleased when our guests have had a good experience. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans and utensils so visitors can choose to prepare their own meals.

There were 3 adults staying at this location and we all loved it. The owners were very nice people who were very accomodating to all of our needs and questions. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. I had my dog along and the locked porch was a perfect place to leave her (dogs are not allowed in the park). The porch was in the shade and was big enough for her to not be cramped. If I ever visit Joshua Tree again, I will absolutely stay here again.

Owner response: We are pleased our guests enjoyed their stay. Traveling with a pet can be restrictive. Pet owners ourselves, we know that animals that are good travelers are also good guests. We welcome well-behaved pets that can be left at the cottage while their "people" enjoy the Park or other near-by attractions.

I was so charmed by this wonderful cottage so close to everything in Joshua Tree. Just 3 miles from the West Entrance of the park. My friend and I felt very welcomed from the start by Patti and David and they made it known to us that anything we needed, they could help us with, and it was very sincere. The cottage was very clean and cozy. The bed was VERY comfortable. We will definitely be staying there when we come back to Joshua Tree, which I hope will be very very soon. Thank you SO much David and Patti!!!

Owner response: We welcome our visitors as guests, not customers, and are pleased to hear they've had a pleasant visit. We are on the grounds should guests need anything but we respect their privacy. Fall and winter bring a variety of activities in Joshua Tree. Besides hiking at JTNP, October brings the annual tour of art studios in the Morongo Basin. The certified Farmer's Market each Saturday is less than a mile "down the hill" and offers arts and crafts in addition to fruit, veggies, baked goods and more.

I had made reservations at another cottage in the area for a week's stay, but was referred to Dave and Patti when the "air conditioning" (swamp cooler) died the first day of my stay. I quickly became glad for the move, as Dave & Patti's place far surpassed the other place in comfort. The cottage is just off the road going into the west side of the park, so was convenient to park exploration and to the town of Joshua Tree. The cottage was well-equipped with everything I needed, was very clean and cozy, and I felt completely safe as a single woman. The cottage was also quiet - one of my most important considerations - except for one evening of drum practice somewhere nearby. (Closing the doors & turning on the AC during that time easily drowned out most of the noise.) I especially loved the screened porch, as I could sit outside late at night and not be overly bothered by flying insects. The hosts are very pleasant people. As there were no problems during my stay, I had no "need" to talk much with them; however, I found it charming that Patti made a point to come by and introduce herself when I arrived, and I enjoyed a brief chat with Dave just before leaving. Overall, a great value for a pleasant stay.

Owner response: We are pleased our guest enjoyed her visit. Our cottage has central AC which keeps it cool and comfortable, even when we have a bout of humidity with the summer heat. As hosts, we are not intrusive but readily available to meet the needs of our guests. Not only does the screened porch provide refuge from flying insects, it can be locked to provide extra security and an ideal place to store your bike, coolers, or other recreational items. We chuckled over the reference to drum practice. We have a young neighbor who, thankfully, limits his practice to once or twice a month.

I loved my stay at this sweet little cottage, so close to the Park and to downtown JT (10-15 nminute walk to shops and cafes). There is even some really great local hiking just a few minutes walk away where you can see very cool petroglyphs and some of the rock formations that make JTNP so special. Dave and Patti couldn't be nicer or more helpful, they were always there when needed, and otherwise very respectful of my privacy. Dave even gave my car a couple jumps when the battery died, and then recommended a great place to get it repaired -- service above and beyond! The cottage itself is very well-equipped and I especially loved sunbathing on the little patio off the dining area, and watching the many quail and other birds who frequently came to visit. Highly recommended.

Owner response: We're pleased you enjoyed your stay, especially when we had a few days in triple digits.Putting AC in the cottage was one of the wisest moves we've made. Not only is the patio private, it's a great place to sit and enjoy the stars. You were especially fortunate to see the candalabra cacti in multi-bloom. The cottage is a short hike to Coyote Canyon which has many ancient petroglyphs and an occasional spotting of coyotes, bobcat, and desert tortoise. Our property provides food and cover for the quail and their brood of little chicks. The desert is full of wonders.

This accommodation was as attractive as pictured. The hosts were very helpful, but were mindful of my privacy. As a single woman, I felt very secure. I found the kitchen excellently equipped and, and since I stayed for four nights, I was able to economize by doing almost all my own cooking. My favorite feature was the east facing security screened porch...ideal for watching the sunrise and a cool place in the afternoon for reading and relaxing. The location is very close to the National Park entrance, literally only several minutes away by car. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be back again soon!

Owner response: We're delighted our guest had a pleasant stay. Having the guest cottage on our propery provides extra security, especially for those traveling alone. We're close to accommodate your needs but distant enough to give you complete privacy. Our bookshelves are stocked if you wish to read on the porch or patio. If you don't finish, you're welcome to take your book with you.

We had a really nice and comfortable stay at this lovely cottage. It has a really comfortable bed, clean and fully equipped kitchen and the hosts are such lovely people. They are very helpful and attentive to all our needs. Location is fantastic to scope out the beautiful Joshua Tree National Park and the nearby cafes & shops. By night time you can sit at the porch and be amazed at the millions of stars above. We highly recommend this place for your stay in Joshua Tree.

Had a wonderful time in Joshua Tree and this cottage definitely helped. Located not far from Route 62, we were able to get everywhere we needed to go with ease.
