Saignon cottage description
La Borie is a beautifully restored two-storey stone cottage that was once a shepherds shelter. The house is beautifully furnished in provencial style. In only two minutes you can be in the middle of the lavender fields, sit at the pool or go for long quiet walks to discover the beautiful surroundings.
From every window the house offers a spectacular view. From the bedroom windows you can see the lavenderfields and hills of the Luberon. Often you might hear the bells of the sheeps that pass by.
Every season offers spectular experiences. La Borie was for me and my family the perfect get away. This gave us an instant feeling of home and it is very comfortable. The location was perfect for us to enjoy the sun, to hike in typical provencal surroundings and go for bike rides. We'll be back again!

A most relaxing stay
A most relaxing stay
My wife, daughter and myself enjoyed a lovely stay at Miriam and Jurgen's cottages. While less than a 10 minute drive from the closest town, one believe they had been transported back to a period before cars or aeroplanes; absolute peace and quiet. This, combined with the picturesque towns to visit in each direction, made for a most relaxing way to spend our time. Our young daughter also made use of the swimming pool, and decided on a career in archaeology after earnestly examining many of the ancient shepherds' huts surrounding the property. This was a lovely experience which we certainly plan to repeat.

The smell of lavender. A wonderful holiday!
The smell of lavender. A wonderful holiday!
Me, my husband and our two grandchildren spend two lovely weeks here last year. The children were always playing in the garden as the property is very spacious. We were swimming in the pool, pick nicking next to the lavender fields and cooking with the fresh vegetables from the saturday market in Apt. Everything lived up to our expectations and even better! It was a perfect retreat. We will definitely come back!

About the owner: My wife Miriam and I have been many times guests at these lovely holiday houses. In 2010 we got the unique opportunity to buy this lovely property. For us this place has always been paradise. This place has everything we expected from making holidays in Provence: sun, pool, lavender, the lovely smell of provencal herbs, lots of fantastic restaurant. For us it is the best site to relax. And our guest do share our love.
Why the Owner Chose Saignon:
We simply bought this property, since we did not wanted to see it being transformed into a private residence for somebody who is using it only 3 weeks a year.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
This property is so quiet. You can only hear the birds and the wind in the trees. The lavender fields are in front of your window, so that you can always go down for a wine and smell the lavender, even in december when it is out of bloom. We find this simply unique and stunning! Naturefans and Porvence lovers will defenitely adore the house and the area. Hiking, mountainbiking or just relaxing at the pool offers everything one could look for in a good holiday. The nearby wineries and restaurants are exquisit. From November to february you can find the local truffles in all forms and comparably cheap to the rest of Europe. In spring it is always sunny and warm, the cherry trees blossom. It is therefore a good way to escape the rainy north. A Golfcourse, the ocean and ski possibilities are all witihin the reach of one to two hours in case you want to explore more. We are proud to say, it is the perfect place for a unique provencial holidays, alone, with your partner and your children.
