Beach vacations the way they used to be... This Gulf-oriented home, just steps from beach access and the Gulf of Mexico is located in the quaint sea-side village of Morgantown on the Ft. Morgan Peninsula in Gulf Shores. From the palm tree lined entrance to the white sandy, uncrowded beaches of the Gulf Coast you will find a wonderful family getaway. Morgantown provides private beach access for community residents, a private pool (with a second pool due to be completed by summer) and private lighted tennis courts.
Our house, Five O'clock Sumwhere, is meant to bring back the relaxing beach vacations of old. The house is professionally decorated in the theme of a colorful Beach Cottage. Colorful sofas, chairs and painted furniture all combine to bring back the quaint memories of old-time beach vacations.
The first floor includes an expansive living room with a queen sleeper sofa, love seat and chair. For entertainment we have included a large TV complete with DVD/VCR player. The dining area includes a large farmhouse table with seating for six as well as a breakfast bar complete with stools.
The full kitchen includes upscale appliances including a smooth top stove, microwave, dishwasher and an undercabinet icemaker with a 50 per day capacity! Full cooking utensils and pots and pans are provided.
The first floor also includes two bedrooms and a full bath. One bedroom includes twin beds while the other is furnished with two sets of bunkbeds. Each bedroom includes a TV and DVD player. Rounding out the first floor is a screened porch oriented to look out at the Gulf. It includes a high top table and chairs as well as speakers with volume controls to enjoy your favorite beach music while you relax.
The upstairs includes two bedrooms, both with private full baths. The master suite includes a king bed, sitting room and a private balcony. A TV with DVD player is also included. The second master bedroom is complete with a queen bed, and private bath and TV/DVD player. It has a huge picture window to see the Gulf.
Consistent with upscale houses, our house comes complete with unlimited local and long distance phone service. We also include high-speed internet access in all bed rooms and the kitchen. We have installed a whole house audio system so you can enjoy your favorite music in the living room, kitchen, screened porch and the front porch. Each room has its own volume control.
The private beach access to the gulf is just steps away. The private community pool is across the street for easy access. The lighted community tennis courts are also nearby.

I have been visiting Gulf Shores for over 15 years. I fell in love with Morgantown the first time I saw it. The quiet family-oriented neighborhood with pools, tennis and private beach access were so unique to the Gulf Coast, I bought two houses!

My family of 7, as well as some close family friends (4) rented this house together February 2009. The water was cold, but it didn't keep us off of the beach! The view from both porches was just amazing. We sat out on the deck wrapped in blankets, drinking coffee, just listening to the sounds of the ocean. Beautiful! The house was beautiful as well and very comfortable. We easily slept 11 people and didn't even use the pull-out sleeper-sofa. It was immaculate when we arrived and was well stocked with dishes, linens, etc. It is conveniently located near shopping, but still "away" enough to make it a more private vacation spot. Would DEFINITELY recommend this home as well as consider it for another vacation soon! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

My family and my sister's family enjoyed our entire stay at this beautiful home. There were 9 of us total with 4 adults and 5 children. There was plenty of space in all of the bedrooms, kitchen and dining room. The front porch was fabulous. The two pools are both close and nicely maintained. The walk to the beach is very short with a boardwalk nearly the whole way. Our families definately plan on spending our summer vacations here again.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We enjoyed our spring break stay from March 29-April 5th at 5 o'clock Sumwhere located in Morgantown, AL, near Gulf Shores. This is a very secluded area, 15 miles from town, but we were mainly planning to go to relax and planned also to do the majority of our eating at the house. We had a total of anywhere between 10 and 12 people at our house at all times, but it was still very comfortable. There was plenty of seating. The home was very nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable. There was a large d/r table as well as a bar, which allowed for plenty of seating at meal times. There were 3 decks on the house to enjoy. The beach was about a 2-3 minute walk away with a community pool right across the street. Morgantown is a fabulous community. There are NO condos, only houses. Actually very few of the houses were occupied during our stay. The beach was very family oriented, which means a lot. The property was identical to the pictures on the internet. There is lots of shopping and restaraunts within driving distance. This was such a pleasant stay, that we plan to make this particular home our annual spring break get away!
