  After losing our mother in March, my sisters and I decided to plan a family vacation. All together there were 9 of us. We stayed @ Dave's home very comfortably. The house is gorgeous and he is very helpful. The house is everything that we expected and more. Since we had never rented this way before, we were really not sure what we were doing. Dave helped us through the whole process. We had never been to S. Dakota before but absolutely loved it. Everything was beautiful and the people in the area (including Dave) were extremely friendly. We would DEFINATELY be back again. I tell everyone that I know what a great time that we had and suggest that they do the same. Thanks again Dave.

• Great location for the Black Hills

  We had a wonderful stay at the Woodland house in Piedmont, SD. You will definitely feel away from hustle and bustle on the large 20 acre property, but you are still close to the Black Hills attractions. It's a quick 30 minutes to Rapid City and a short distance to Sturgis and Deadwood with quick and easy access to I-90 via frontage road. Our group was large--four families. The layout of the home worked great for us with bedrooms on two levels. The house has 3 window A/C units and a whole-house fan (attic fan) and was able to keep it cool even during the hot days we had. The large deck and patio were big and spacious to enjoy the cool nights. We really enjoyed the 3 flat screen TVs, the Dish Network satellite TV & DVD players, but note there isn't wireless internet provided anymore. The owner, Dave, even provided all the baby stuff we needed--pack n play, high chair, and lots of childrens toys. The value of this property was fantastic! We would love to return if we were back in the area. Thanks for a great stay, Dave!

  Our family of eight (5 adults and 3 children) loved staying in this rental for a week. It was conveniently located to both the Northern Hills, Rapid City, Mt. Rushmore, Keystone, 1880 train, Custer State Park, Bear Country and Storybook Island. The setting of this home was beautiful. It had a large meadow that was surrounded by pine trees. The pictures of the home do not do it justice. The rooms were spacious and well-decorated. We had ample sleeping and living space. We loved the two patios (front and back) and ate breakfast on the large nicely equipped back patio (2 tables and chairs, glider, end tables, coffee table,grill just on the back patio). We were in the area with many other family members with each group renting their own places Three nights they gathered at this home for evening dinners. It never seemed crowded. This house was very child friendly with large areas for the children to play both inside and out. Dave supplied 2 pac n' plays for our toddlers and 2 expandable gates for the stairways. He supplied great toys for the children. The house was private, but not remote. The house was very clean and well-equipped. If anything was needed, Dave was so helpful and close by. We were so thankful to have found this VRBO listing. My sister tried to book it, but unknowingly I booked it first. I appreciated the previous reviews as we anticipated our trip. Every memory of our stay is framed by the peaceful and beautiful setting of where we stayed. Being originally from S. Dak. and not knowing when we would be back, I wanted this to be a memorable trip for our children and grandchildren. It was!! I believe Dave will be seeing more of my family and extended family members sometime in the future. It truly was a home away from home. A wonderful family gathering place (not a partying place). Thank you for sharing it with us, Dave and Cara. Our memories of our week are priceless!

  My group of 10, including 5 kids, stayed here in March 2012, not during bike week. The owner, Dave, is extremely accommodating and friendly, always ready to help and asking whether he could provide us with anything else we might need. The home itself is really nice. We loved the open space outside where the kids could play, huge deck with grill, large living area as well as a separate family room, and the general spacious nature of the home. We didn't feel at all crowded with 10 and easily could have accommodated more. The outside is in a beautiful, woodsy area, within sight of other homes but really pretty secluded. The inside is well decorated and well kept. Everything was exquisitely clean. The bunk area contained 3 queen beds, so each of our little girls even got their own bed, far beyond what we were expecting. There is a pool table/game room downstairs. So much for the kids to do without being crowded together. This place truly exceeded our expectations and we will definitely stay here if we make it to Sturgis again. We've already recommended it to our friends. We couldn't be happier with our experience. Thanks, Dave!

  What a beautiful home. It was so relaxing and peaceful! It is located in such a great location, minutes away from fun in all directions. We completely enjoyed our stay.

  After staying overnight at this wonderful home, I would definitely recommend it. It is awesome. What a great place to have a family reunion, or a group of friends come and stay. It is very easy to find and the surroundings are beautiful with lots of mature pine trees and a large open field. The two large decks would be wonderful to sit outside with a cup of coffee and watch the sun come up. This home is very nicely decorated too. It's very warm and inviting, and has an open floor plan and lots of room to spread out. The bedrooms are large and the bed was very comfortable. If you want a great place to stay, this is it!
