The "Selah Vie" property was a truly wonderful home base for our family vacation in the Bahamas. The house is clean, beautiful, comfortable, well-maintained and accomodating. It's location offers beautiful views, gorgeous trees and plants and amazing peaceful privacy. A unique and spectacular feature is the house's close proximity to the beautiful, expansive "8 mile beach". It was so lovely and aside from a few conversations with very friendly neighbors, we had the whole beach to ourselves. It was almost surreal to experience such a beautiful beach while feeling such privacy and safety. The owners were very friendly and helpful providing details about the property and suggesting ways to enjoy the Abaco Islands. And the property care taker was helpful, friendly and offered delightful insights about the islands. It's remote location (about a half hour from the town of Marsh Harbour) is well worth the benefits of privacy, quiet and safety. Selah Vie is a real gem. I am grateful that my family found it and I am happy to recommend it to others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for entrusting us with your family vacation and for your kind words! We are delighted that you experienced the raw beauty and serenity of the Abacos from Selah Vie, and enjoyed it as much as we have. We feel truly blessed to be stewards of such a special place.

When i arrived at Selah Vie it was a nice place to stay while i stay in Abaco. The beach is in walking distance and the water water was nothing but nice and warm. The house was very good taken care of. The rooms had lots of room for me and my friends to stay. Also there was a pool that we went into as much as could. The view from the deck was very beautiful, the trees with the sky blue was amazing. Also the owner of the house showed a humble feeling. When i reached out to them about the house, they were very polite and quick to answer my question i had about the bars, beaches, and where to go! I will diffidently go back and stay there.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

i spent one week at this house and enjoyed every minute .The house was clean and well equipped with all necessities. I surf fished and caught about 8 different fish in lest than 2 hours--great fishing. we also went out on " The Local Boy " fishing trip with Justin Russell as our guide. I would highly recommend Justin for a wonderful fishing experience. For a good night out you must go to the JIB ROOM only Wednesday or Saturday with reservations.Get there early. All in all it was a wonderful week and i plan on doing it againRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks Peanuts, we're glad you enjoyed your trip. You know you are welcome back any time!

We stayed at Selah Vie in July 2012 for one week and this was our first trip to Abaco. It was perfect for us! We were looking for peace and quite, and we found lots of it at this house. The house was newly painted and had everything we could have hoped for. The pool was a little hard to get in and out, but it was refreshing on those hot days when we just wanted to cool off. We lost electricity for about an hour due to a thunderstorm, but we made the most it by playing cards by candlelight. A rental car is a must on this island to get around and see things, but once you get to know the island it is not too hard to get around. What a great time we had going to Pete's Pub, Nippers, Snappa's and snorkeling in the Sea of Abaco. We can't wait to book our next vacation. Thank you so much for letting us use your home as our vacation get away.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: Ray is a Geochemist who helps his clientele reduce their risk in finding oil and gas resources. Dawn is the General Manager of an organic dairy where they produce grass-fed, organic milk and dairy products. We've been married since 2000, have two children, and are looking forward to gracefully coasting into retirement over the next 10-15 years.
Why the Owner Chose Bahama Palm Shores:
We traveled around the Bahamas numerous times between 2003 and 2010, and we made a special trip for our anniversary in 2011 specifically to look at different properties, but this one was not on our list. We spent the weekend looking at many properties, but none of them inspired us like 'Tree Tops'. That was the name the property was called before we bought it.
Perhaps the tipping point for both Dawn and I was the handwritten quote from Isaiah 41....'For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.' We both noticed it as we were walking through the house, and it was one of the first things we commented on when we were alone and comparing notes.
We went back home and immediately started the process of buying the home, and viola'......7 months later the property was ours.
The previous owners were school teachers and since they were in the middle of the school year, they needed a place to stay. So we offered to rent the house to them until they were done with school, and this worked out fine for us as we were just getting comfortable with the idea of owning a vacation home so far away. We were gnawing at the bit to visit Selah Vie and to start putting our personal touch on things, and finally in July 2012 we got to stay in our home for the first time.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
This property spoke to us right from the start and we just felt comfortable immediately. The house is secluded and quiet, which is just what we were looking for. It is very near to the beach and the beach is just beautiful. The house was well-maintained and really just needed minor renovations/adjustments for us to feel at home.
We're confident that you'll fall in love with Selah Vie just like we did, and we feel blessed to be able to offer this wonderful experience to anyone who wants to come and visit.
