After the sale of our home and waiting to move into the the new house we stayed and it was like a home away from home. Our son is an animal lover and was in heaven. Not many people can say they woke up to a camel out their window or that during the night a new zebra joined the farm. It was a great place to stay, quite, and clean and close to shopping, travel etc. We loved that our son could play outside as well and were very comfortable all around.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

This was the perfect place for my family and me to stay while visiting Lexington. My children (9 and 4) were in heaven. They loved the animals and I felt safe letting them go outside by themselves. Seeing the tractors come and go was also very exciting for my little one. As far as the inside of the apartment, I was very pleased and I am usually labeled a "germaphobe"! The inside was clean and comfortable. I really loved the washer and dryer too. We spent a lot of time sight seeing as well. We enjoyed Keeneland racetrack, Claiborne Farm tour, the retired thoroughbred farm "Old Friends" and the KY Horse Park of course. This was one of our favorite vacations. I would definately recommend this property to a friend, especially if they love animals and being in the country as much as we do. Thanks Michelle for sharing your farm with us. We hope to visit again some day:)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

I cannot say enough about this location, as well as the owners! They really went above and beyond to make our stay special, and we are so grateful! Between the animals and the owners, who went out of their way to make my son feel included and answer his endless questions, we had the time of our lives. This was an adventure he'll never forget. The apartment was neat and very clean, with plenty of room while still very cozy. Everything we needed was available, and the owners thought of every convenience. Easy access and short drive to everything we wanted to see in Lexington, while still feeling secluded in the country. We would definitely love to return, and recommend this location completely! I can't gush enough about how great this vacation was!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway.

Nice, clean rental that matched the description well. Located in a beautiful, quiet area of horse farms yet very close to restaurants and stores and a short drive to the KY Horse Park. The owners let you walk around the farm and view their animals. They have a wide variety of exotics including a camel and zebra. Our kids loved this place and it is one of the first things they bring up when they tell people about our vacation. One minor thing is the eat in area of the kitchen is a little small for four people so you may need to get creative if you don't use the picnic table out back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.

This was the most wonderful place to stay. Everything was very clean. Spacious accommodations with enough room to sit and converse over a home cooked meal. There was a nice play ground outside and lots of room to stroll and enjoy the outside air. The kitchen was furnished providing an easy place to prepare your own food. The décor was fun and original. It was a very peaceful country setting, but still close to town. Access to groceries, food and shopping was just a short drive. The location was close to several Kentucky thoroughbred farms. Seeing all the exotic animals on the farm was a real treat. Where else can you look out the window and see Scottish Highlands and Watusi cattle? Every day was an opportunity to get photos of Chester (the adorable zebra) and a pair of ostriches. Of course, the camels, although we were partial to Gunner, were a personal favorite. They were happy to greet us every morning. The hosts were wonderful. They were extremely friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond making our stay pleasant. It was the perfect place for a family vacation. Great experience, a real treat. I would most definitely stay there again. I whole-heartedly recommend this place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We arrived late at night, so were pleasantly surprised to see the inquisitive camel out our window when we woke up the next morning! Of course, that was just the beginning of the exotic animal entertainment, both outside, and in the room decor. The accomodations are more spacious than you would anticipate from the photos, very clean and well maintained, with a nice degree of privacy. The location is very convenient to everything that Lexington has to offer, and is more or less on the eastern loop of the horse country tours. Our host was great in communicating with us in the days leading up to our trip, and really went the extra mile, mailing the camera battery charger I had left in the room on departure! Great experience and would highly recommend to animal lovers, families with children, or anyone who would like to be close to the city, yet be able to feel they are well into the countryside at the end of the day.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We were the first guests at this unusual VRBO listing and we plan to return, as it was a great choice. Where else can you be greeted by the very friendly farm camel just outside your door, on your way in and out? The apartment is spacious, beautiful and very nicely furnished. Being the first renters, we had one small issue, which Michelle, the owner, corrected immediately. It is convenient to the city, but surrounded by classic Lexington countryside, with fences, pastures, and animals. The Fink's were gracious hosts and were very helpful with all our questions about the area. This would be a great choice for families with children with all the exotic animals on the farm. If this sounds like what you are looking for in a Lexington stay, you will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
