Hitting the PowerBall would just about be the only thing that could happen to me, that would be nicer than staying at this rental during the week of my choosing. My brothers and I could not have picked a better place to stage our annual "brothers fishing" week. This is the second year in a row that we have stayed at this villa, and plan on hopefully staying here same time, for years to come. Even when the fishing isn't all that great, just having the peaceful surroundings to relax in makes this a vacation of memories. Like the other reviewers say, you are close to all the amenities the island has to offer. A car would only be needed if you planned on carrying gear. You are within walking distance of shopping, groceries, entertainment, and most important of all, the finest beaches one can ask for. Folks, the Laades are good, honest people. You will not be disappointed. You have my word on this!

Owner response: We are so glad that you and your brothers keep coming back and enjoying your time at our home for your annual fishing trip reunion. We truly look forward to your stay with us again next year.

Being in the travel business, i give a lot of weight to first impressions. When we arrived, my initial reaction exceeded my expectations. The house is lovely, in excellent condition, and was perfect for us from the start. We like that it has no stairs, everything is on ground level, the house has had an excellent renovation and all is like new. It is very clean and fresh. It has a fenced yard for the dogs and feels very private, perfect for our many barbecue evenings. It is an easy 1.5 block walk to the gorgeous beach and we are two houses from Pine Ave. where we always walked for dinner when we dined out. We have already booked for next year, which I think, says it all. The owner is a pleasure to work with and addressed any issues that arose immediately. I hope to be a repeat renter for many years to come.

The house is better than the images we had seen at the VRBO site. Everything works well, and it is in very good shape, furniture, appliances, bathroom, kitchen, etc. clearly taken care of with dedication. The location is very good, a short walk to the beach, very close to the local free trolley but far enough not to hear the vehicles passing by. Will recommend it to friends.

I hesitate to write this, because I hear this little cottage is getting popular, but the owners deserve a great review. We've stayed in several vacation rentals along the Gulf coast. This was, by far, the best -- both pet friendly and spotlessly-clean, both centrally-located and quiet and residential. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced-in yard. We loved how close it was to the beach. We left behind a robe and the owners kindly mailed it to our home. This attention to detail is evident throughout this adorable villa. We'll definitely stay here again - if we can get in!

This place justified the previous excellent reviews. Perfect location and very comfortable. Everything you need for a lovely vacation. Michelle & Jeff were exceptionally helpful, obviously very proud of their homes. The house was spotless on our arrival and everything worked a treat. We enjoyed days on the beach using the beach chairs (including the beach umbrella and towels provided) from the house and days out either walking the beach, taking a stroll up Pine Ave to the City Pier or making use of the fantastic free trolley bus for trips aound the Island. Many eating places within easy walking distance as well as take out options to enjoy back at the house. We would like to thank Michelle & Jeff for making this lovely vacation possible. Highly recommended.

The villa was very clean and everything we needed was provided for a very comfortable stay. Our party included three adults and two children. The outdoor area was especially nice. The location was excellent and the beach was just a short walk from the villa. Although the weather was hot with some rain most days, we found much to do in the area. We especially enjoyed the Mote Aquarium, a deep sea fishing excursion, as well as visiting the Anna Maria piers. Also, the Maritime Museum at Cortez and the local museum on Anna Maria were worthwhile. The owners were very good to check in on us and we appreciated that. It was a wonderful vacation!

This beautiful home is everything that the description states and more! The home is located in an ideal spot for just about anything that you would like to do. Just park your car and head to the beach which is a little over a block away, or pick up some groceries around the corner, rent a bike a few blocks away and tour the area, pick a restaurant and eat somewhere different every day! The house itself has everything that you need to enjoy yourself. Michelle has thought about everything and it shows! My family and I will definitely look for availability on our next trip to AMI!! Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us Michelle!

My husband and I booked this cottage to celebrate our 20th anniversary over the July 4th week and it couldn't have been a more perfect hideaway. It was sparkling clean; the decor was bright, fresh and comfortable throughout; the backyard was a cozy hangout, complete with softly lighted deck outside the master bedroom; the beach wagon was great for pulling the provided chairs, umbrella and towels to the beach a very short walk away; and for those who need more space, there's a second bedroom. It was every bit as nice as the pictures show. The location was spot on--a half-block from the main drag to catch the free trolley to go anywhere on the island but off the main drag so we had more privacy, a block from the General Store, five blocks to Beach Bums to rent bicycles, three blocks from the best breakfast in Anna Maria (Ginny's & Jane E's), and three blocks from the popular, low-key Sandbar restaurant, where diners can eat in the air-conditioned dining room or on the deck with their flip flops in the sand. The price for the value and quality we got simply cannot be beat. Owner Michelle was incredibly easy to work with, easily reachable any time we had a question and very helpful. The kicker: We arrived to find Michelle had left a few personalized gifts, such as sparklers for us to light on July 4 in celebration of our special day. We can't sing the praises of this place or Michelle enough. We're already planning a return trip.

I have been coming to Anna Maria Island since the late 60's. I have stayed in plenty of different venues over the years. I can honestly say, that this vacation rental was the best yet, and by a longshot. The profile description and photos for this place was dead-on. Michelle and her husband are to be congratulated in creating an elegant and inviting environment, while avoiding stuffiness. Relaxation seemed to be the top priority decorating theme used by these fine folks. And fine they were. Michelle was extremely accommodating, promptly answering questions about the place. I arrived to find the rental spotless and well appointed. I have already begun telling my siblings and friends about this place, all the while hoping that they don't go after the week I am planning on coming back on next year. The location was exemplary. Too my sheer joy, the General Store was just around the corner, providing everything an island refugee could need, from freshly baked goods, to deli meats and salads, to frozen bait and fishing tackle. You could easily arrive hear with your clothes, and find all your living needs at the store. A couple of blocks south and still within walking distance, is the Sand Bar Restaurant. You can enjoy a breezy evening on the deck with mouth-watering cuisine sitting on the plate in front of you, while a hand-painted sunset over the gulf preceeds dusk. Enjoy a few adult beverages under the stars while the waves off in the distance sing to you as they mingle with the sandy shoreline. If you enjoy fishing, the Anna Maria City Pier and the Rod and Reel Pier are within 5 minutes of you. If don't enjoy fishing, they will still be a must visit. Sit inside the restaurant at either and gaze into the eyes of that someone special, or just gaze anywhere. Let your mind drift and listen to the seagulls calling out to each other, as well as the soft lapping of the surf against the columns supporting the weathered, wooden paradises. Folks, you will not live forever. While oxygen still hitches a ride on the red blood cells racing through your veins, take time to visit Anna Maria Island. And when you do, remember this review and book your "slice of paradise" at this rental. You have earned it, haven't you?

Being originally from Florida, Anna Maria remains one of my all-time favorite spots, on either coast. Jeff and Michelle obviously feel the same, and have found perhaps the perfect location on the island, for their villa. It's in a quiet and quaint area, but only steps (and I really mean a FEW steps) away from all kinds of fun things to do, offering the best the beautiful Florida beaches and gulf-side destinations have to offer. There's a fabulous restaurant and beachfront bar - The Sandbar - right down Pine Street, and at the other end, my absolute favorite fishing (and relaxing!) spot, the Anna Maria City Pier, where one can fish, or just listen to the locals' fish stories, and sip on a cool drink while catching the bay breeze and perhaps a glimpse of a dolphin! If you need anything in the way of food or sundries, there's a wonderful little General Store just around the corner. The unit itself is everything promised in the description and pictures - meticulously decorated and appointed, leaving you for want of nothing, but more vacation and more time to spend there in such a perfect location to unwind. The Laade's have priced the unit very reasonably, so that it should fit just about any budget. But really, how does one put a worth on a stay in this little corner of paradise, known and loved as Anna Maria Island? You can't! But take a chance and contact the owners - you'll never, ever regret it, I promise!

This place was so cute and clean and wonderfully beachy! This was our first time to Anna Maria and we will definitely be back. The owners, Jeff and Michelle were great. They made our stay easy and comfortable. We were just steps away from Pine Ave, where all the shops and restaurants were. The beach was awesome! It was especially nice that we were able to bring our dog. It made for a great family getaway! We have already booked this house for next year!

Being from the Mid West, we needed a wonderful and accommodating winter retreat... we found it here at AMI with Jeff and Michelle's beach cottage. Location, property and furnishings could not have been better. Others have correctly commented on the completeness of the furnishings and comforts of the cottage... it was just great and if not, they fixed it the same day. We stayed long term for the winter "season"and loved every day of paradise on AMI. The side front yard was a favorite as we would sit there under 15 shady and gently swaying palms and enjoy coffee or meals and watch the people walking and biking along the quaint street. We frequently stay in VRBO homes like this one. I must say it is now a favorite so much we would buy it! We found it to be just as presented and not short in anyway as we have experienced on others before. Jeff and Michelle are honest and sincere with their properties and will make you as welcome as family. Short or long stay... you will be pleased.

My girlfriends and I stayed in this unit and had so much fun! The owners really care for this place and it shows. New kitchen. New bath. Had everything that we needed. Comfy beds too. Great location. No need for a car. We walked to the beach, restaurants, shopping and convenience store right around the corner. I recommend Rod and Reel for breakfast, Lunch at The Waterfront, sunset and dinner at the Sandbar, go to Bortell's for nightlife (great jukebox). The owners are super friendly and keep this sweet little cottage super clean.

My husband and I just loved Anna Maria! The rental was close and accessible to all the quaint shops and restaurants at the North end of Anna Maria on Pine Ave. We rarely used our rental car since the island has a free trolley. The owners live on the island and were very accomodating, even taking time to point out places for us to go or their favorites seafood spots. The rental was clean, cute, and comfortable with great amenities. We will be back again next year!
