The Blue Span Shenandoah Cabin is a romantic and private weekend getaway cabin with fantastic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley. The cabin is a short walk from the Shenandoah River. The cabin is complete with a freestanding fireplace for those special evenings.
This is a very clean modern cabin with rustic touches that brings you comfortably to fully enjoy the splendor of the Shenandoah Valley. You can enjoy cooking out with the charcoal BBQ grill in the evenings. Or you can lazily watch from the hammock the colors of fall or the sunset illuminate the Blue Ridge Mountains as you relax.
This cabin has two very comfortable queen-sized bedrooms, a full bath and fully equipped kitchen including microwave and coffee maker. All pots, pans, utensils, and dinnerware are provided along with basic condiments required for a relaxing stay.
There is a freestanding fireplace in the great room with a sleep sofa. The great room has ample glass for you to enjoy the views while relaxing in front of a fire. We also provide pressed wood fire logs to burn in the freestanding fireplace.
The views from the cabin are nothing short of spectacular. See the sunrise over the Blue Ridge Mountains in the morning while enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee or enjoy the sunsets in the evening while eating outside.
The legendary Shenandoah River is but a short walk from the knoll where the cabin sits overlooking it. This stretch of the river is noted for outstanding smallmouth bass fishing and excellent canoeing.
The Shenandoah National Park is a short drive with its excellent hiking trails and fine native brook trout streams. Nearby is a host of recreational activities to include canoeing, tubing, hiking, biking and fishing. Also, a number of excellent tourist attractions are close by.
All linens and towels are provided for a one-time fee of $10 per bed.

It really did have everything you need (coffee, tea, etc.) Just bring your food. I would stay there again! Very comfortable and in walking distance to the river. Lots of deck space! Great views and very quiet.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Very thoughtful owners. Property is described accurately. The pluses are the spectacular view from the living room, the wood burning fireplace, and secluded location. I think it would be even prettier in the fall. We even saw deer from our living room. My t-mobile did not connect, so I was "e-sanitized". Great value for money.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are so glad you throughly enjoyed your stay. We try hard to make the cabin as comfortable as we can and we appreciate the positive feedback and comments. We hope to see you in the future to appreciate the fall color.

We just spent a most relaxing Labor Day weekend at the Blue Span Shenandoah Cabin. It is a short beautiful drive from historic Luray. The listing is accurate in every way. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, plenty of hot water and great water pressure in the kitchen and bathroom. The cabin was clean. We stopped at the Luray farmers market on our way in (Saturday's 9-1) and enjoyed a nice lunch at the Gathering Grounds. One more stop at the grocery store, and once we arrived at the cabin, we did not leave. My husband enjoys cooking so we and our friends enjoyed fantastic meals and wine al fresco gazing at those magnifent Blue Ridge Mountains. It did drizzle on and off most of the weekend, but the patio is protected and we all got it some good reading time. We did not get to meet Kathy or Chris, but Kathy was available by phone and even called us when the cabin was all ready for our arrival. My only recommendation would be a bit more lighting in the living and dining area for the evening. Other than that, we really did not miss a thing. I would give our overall experience a Very Good if it was available. We all hope to return for another weekend in the near future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are glad you enjoyed your holiday get-a-way at our cabin and shared your experience there. Kathy appreciates your feedback in her effort to make the cabin as comfortable and inviting as she possibly can. Looking forward to seeing you return again.

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin. The description and photos were right on. The house was comfortable and well-furnished. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. The view from inside and outside was breathtaking and we enjoyed it in the mornings and evenings. We spent most of the days on the river and the house was in a very convenient location for that - right across the street from a boat launch and just half a mile away from Shenandoah River Outfitters. The owners were easily accessible by telephone whenever we had a question but respected our privacy throughout the stay. We felt very secluded. It's not shown in the photos, but there is a very comfortable hammock big enough for two people in the back yard. For our trip - It was perfect. We hope to return sometime and highly recommend it to others.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: It is satisfying to know that you enjoyed yourselves so much and that you took the time to write a good review of your stay. Looking forward to seeing you again. Thanks so much.

This is a lovely cabin/cottage which can be used as a nice retreat for a small family with great outdoor living area, bbq & hammock etc., The pictures accurately reflect the property as described. Also just a short drive from Luray and the skyline drive and lots of activities nearby. Although the owners are next door there is a ravine and trees so it feels very private. The garbage has to be driven a mile away which is a bit of a pain...but if you know that when you go you can at least plan for it. The cabin is very comfortable and if we are in the area again I would certainly book it.. Ideal for a couple or small family..Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you and we are glad you enjoyed your stay and found the cabin comfortable. .

Oh my goodness. There are no such words to describe this place. The mountains are our favorite "get a way" and this is by far our favorite place we have ever stayed. The view is spectacular and your home is so cozy. My only regret is that our stay was so brief! Thank you so much for making our mini vacation so wonderful. I found myself longing to be back in the cabin the whole time we were in town. We definitely will be back. Thanks Again. Brittany & JayDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I had the good fortune to stay at Blue Span 5 or 6 times and each time was a great and restful stay. Well appointed with a wonderful fireplace and stunning views from the porch. Satellite TV should you need to catch up with the news or Market happenings. Very well maintained and clean you will feel right at home here for a relaxing and peaceful stay. A great location with the Shenandoah River a short 5 minute walk. Your right in the middle of some great hiking with many trails available to you. A short spin to Luray with some fine restaurants, try the Mimslyn Inn you will enjoy the fine dinning and service I highly recommend The Blue Span for you getaway.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you. We appreciate that you enjoyed your stays and looking forward to see you again.

Just as the listing describes, this is an awesome get-away cabin in the foothills of the Shenandoah mountains. I especially appreciated the caring personal touch that the owner stopped by and introduced herself, and emphasized that if I needed anything, be sure to let her know! She followed up again later in the week - I appreciate the attention to ensure I was comfortable and my needs were met. This is a very cozy & comfortable cabin, indeed with the advertised spectacular views - what a sunset, and then the sunrises - wow!! The cabin had great amenities, and I truly enjoyed my stay. I will surely recommend this cabin to my friends and relatives...Thanks Kathy & Chris!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
