Poipu Sands is located on over seven acres next door to the Grand Hyatt Kauai. These vacation rentals in sunny Poipu boast expansive green areas with tropical landscaping providing you with a large open grassy space and a carefree, beach resort lifestyle while relaxing in your spacious condo. Poipu Sands and the Grand Hyatt share a gateway to the Poipu Kai greenbelt giving everyone easy access to Shipwreck Beach (Keoneloa Bay) on one end and Poipu and Brennecke`s beaches on the other.
Poipu Sands has its own swimming pool and tennis court as well as use of the Poipu Kai community swimming pool, hot tub and tennis courts. A thriving, friendly tennis community at Poipu Kai welcomes Kauai`s visitors with open arms. Several barbeque areas with comfortable sitting areas are throughout the Poipu Sands` grounds.
Stroll down to Shipwreck Beach and watch the sunrise or climb the Mahaulepu Coastal Trail, which begins just beyond the beach. This trail is a special part of the Kauai History Heritage site and the last stretch of accessible coastline on the South Shore that has not been developed. This wonderful coastal hike takes you across a variety of terrain, from small sand dunes to sandstone pinnacles and even a sinkhole cave. The area provides a safe haven for marine life, such as sea turtles and the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal. The trail leads to beautiful Mahaulepu Beach, a great place to spot whales in the winter or observe (from a distance) a monk seal napping on the beach.
Next door to the Sands, you can wander around the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa`s lush tropical gardens or indulge in a reviving treatment at the world-class Anara Spa. This lovely setting lets you easily explore the natural wonders of our Garden Isle of Kauai, as well as dine at several delightful restaurants or enjoy the galleries and shops. Treat yourself to one of Kauai`s best luaus, featuring authentic dance, events and cuisine.
On the opposite side of the Hyatt, only a ten-minute walk away, is the world famous Poipu Bay Golf Course situated on 210 oceanfront acres. Challenging at all levels of play and yet fun for the novice as well, Poipu Bay hosted the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 1994-2006.
Kauai`s Poipu Sands is an ideal location for a memorable holiday experience!

Quiet location, spacious, clean, comfortable.
We were very happy with the condo. but It could use some minor improvements, though. Namely, the slow internet and the kitchen equipment could use some upgrading. Shipwreck Beach is nice, but we ended up going to Poipu Beach most of the time. The supermarket is about 3 miles away and you can find pretty good choices of restaurants within 3-5 miles range.

Home away from home
Loved the upstair bedroom with private balcony...a must when traveling with family. We were able to get up a bit earlier than the kids & sit outside without making it known we were up. Roomy & clean...eating out is very costly, the kitchen was greatly used. Would stay again...just a bit far from a swimming beach.

Beautiful place, Beautiful LocationGuest comment entered by manager
Beautiful place, Beautiful Location
The condo was clean, very roomy. Loved the lanai's. There was a starter tote bag of; coffee packets 2, dish soap, toilet paper(2 rolls), laundry soap 2 small packets, bounce sheets 2 small packets, kelnex boxes 2, dishwasher soap when we arrived. No need to buy hand soap, body soap, shampoo, body lotion, which there was plenty of. Plenty of dishes, wine glasses, glasses.. Cons: Would of gave this unit a 4 star if they had: if there were few more rolls of toilet paper. If there were beach items ie, cooler bag, ice freezer packets, mats (oppose to have to rent the beach items from Great Vacation Rental company.) Kitchen to replace frying pans, as the two there were scuffed up petty bad. Few staples such as, saran wrap, foil paper, olive oil, a spice rack form costco (cheap to buy). Grounds: The grounds were well kept, staff always cleaning, pruning. Is like a resort setting. Location: Walkable to Shipwreck Beach, quick drive to Poipu Beach. Quick drive to Koloa for groceries.

About: Aloha~ Thank you for viewing my properties! My name is Amy Grant and I own a boutique vacation management company in Kauai called Great Vacation Retreats. I happily work and reside in Kauai and have been managing vacation rentals on the Garden Isle for almost 4 years. Married to my husband Scott for 6 years and we have a beautiful little girl named Presley. When we aren't busy chasing her around we enjoy going to the beach, cooking and traveling. I love working with my guests to find the perfect place for them to call home while on vacation. It can be overwhelming trying to pick out the right property - I can help. My staff and myself take great pride in the properties we manage and believe that we truly have some of the best properties the island has to offer. We have been in each property numerous times and stayed in most so that we can give you an accurate description of what the properties amenities are, distances to the beach, sightseeing, restaurants, etc. We can also help you with any activities you might be interested in while on island such as surfing lessons, private boat charters, guided hikes, stand up paddling, personal chef, childcare and much more! Mahalo for looking:)
Why Poipu Sands:
My husband and I were married at Kee Beach on the North Shore and visited the island several times after. We used to manage vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe and many of the owners also owned property in Kauai and asked if we would be interested in starting a business here. After a couple of years we finally made the move and have been blissfully happy every since. The island has so much natural beauty and outdoor activities yet it still doesn't have that 'big resort' feel. It is a great safe place for children and also makes for a perfect honeymoon or anniversary destination.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy here - going to the beach, surfing, stand up paddling, horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, taking a boat charter along the Napali Coast, kayaking, camping, biking, etc. I enjoy getting a spa treatment at the Anara Day Spa at the Hyatt. If you enjoy going to the spa their facial is perfect. My husband and I met at culinary school and consider ourselves 'foodies'. We love the Kilauea Bakery for a great cup of coffee and the bialys are amazing (stuffed bagels). Some other restaurants that we enjoy are Josselins, the Kalaheo Café, Postcards, Roy’s, Tip Top Café and Kauai Pasta just to name a few. There are some wonderful farmers markets here and fish markets (Hanalei Dolphin is the best) with their fresh local catches of the day. Ahi is of course an island favorite and can be found at many of the restaurants throughout the island. Whale watching is from December - March and is quite a sight to see. Some of the best golf courses in the US are located in Kauai. We work with some activity providers that provide personalized hikes and activities that are 'off the beaten path' and truly show you what Kauai has to offer.
