Amazing, amazing, amazing....
Amazing, amazing, amazing....
We stayed at Red Rock Retreat 8/30-9/7/12. The address actually pulled up in my GPS (surprising) although it thought it was a mile further down the road than it really was. The pictures do not do the cabin justice! We literally walked onto the back porch and the view stopped everyone in their tracks! That space soon became one of our favorites! The cabin itself didn't disappoint either- we had plenty of space and it was beyond comfortable and cozy. It is the perfect mix of secluded- but close enough to "civilization" that you don't feel cut off Also, you are only a stone's throw from Yellowstone (less than 20 miles) which was awesome. The cabin was clean (great towels) and being able to relax and recount our day in front of the tv at night was great. The owners were very communicative before we got there- and even called the day of our arrival to make sure everything was ok. We saw a fox amble through the yard one morning and later turned down the road to the property only to find ourselves about 30 feet from a huge bull moose. Within days, our conversations were littered with comments of having to get this cabin again "next time". We'd absolutely recommend the cabin (and already have).

About: We’re outdoors people. We raised our 6 wonderful children in 2 beautiful national parks where I worked as a wildlife biologist. My career took us from Idaho, to California, Alaska, and then to the east coast where we lived in West Virginia and Florida. Now we’re back on the west coast and thinking about retirement. Our 6 children are grown and most have families of their own. We bought this cabin with the intent to bless and strengthen our family, immediate and extended. We hope it will bless yours, too. Because we live so far away, we’ve asked Debbie, from Island Park Lodging, to take the reservations and make sure you’re well taken care of.
Why Island Park:
Having travelled over most of North America, the two of us agree that every place we’ve lived has something special about it; we’ve loved them all. But there’s one spot we love the best. We’ve returned to it time and again to vacation or to meet family and friends. It’s big, beautiful country, wild and peaceful. The wildlife viewing is the best you’ll find in the lower 48 states. The hunting and fishing are world class. Summer and winter recreational opportunities are endless and top notch. And, the folks here are as friendly as you’ll find anywhere. Island Park, Idaho is our favorite place on the planet and where we spend as much time relaxing and recreating as possible. We’re sure you’ll like it too.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Our Retreat is situated among a string of a half-dozen cabins on a paved, but little traveled road. We have public land behind and in front which makes for a very peaceful setting and spectacular views. We chose this location because from our cabin it’s an easy run into Yellowstone Park and right in the middle of all the great things to do in Island Park. Wildlife viewing is incredible. It’s a safe place for kids to run and play, roast marshmallows on the open fire, watch spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and enjoy the gorgeous night sky. Winter snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing can all be done right in front of the cabin; there’s even a great hill for kids to sled or snowboard.
