My (now) wife and I came across Lorraine's place while searching for beach or waterfront homes on St. Croix. We were eloping and wanted a spectacular home, in a quiet area with a view of Buck Island and we found the perfect home on VRBO. We were excited to find that the home surpassed our expectations based on the photos. It is hard to do justice to the comfort and beauty of the house. The woodwork the openess of the living, doning and kitchen areas as well as the views were simply wonderful. We arrived on a Friday, enjoyed a few days of sightseeing and swimming and then were married on Monday by Kim from Seaside Weddings. She was very easy to work with and helped to make our special day as stress-free as the island itself. We then honeymooned for another 5 days in Lorraines lovely home. Lorraine was a pleasure to deal with and was prompt with communications, answering all of our questions, both before we booked the trip and the few we had while on island. You will be delighted to rent this property if you are looking for an elegant, spacious home, quiet evenings, lovely views and easy access to everything the Island has to offer. Thank you Lorraine! We searched and searched for the perfect 10 year anniversary trip and knew we wanted to go to the Caribbean. With less than a month to plan, we finally decided on St. Croix and renting Villa Leja through VRBO; and it was everything we expected and more. The property owner quickly responded to all of our questions and was helpful with suggestions, including snorkeling tips the day we arrived because the tradewinds were high the first couple of days. The home is spectacular; we could not have been more impressed. It's open and airy with doors, windows and ceiling fans in every room in the main living and master bedroom building, and the interior is beautifully decorated (each day we found a new interesting item in the decor). As for the exterior, we loved waking up every morning and drinking our coffee on the patio overlooking Buck Island. The patio half way down the stone walk to the water's edge was perfect for watching sunsets in the West. Having a pool and the waterfront on either side of the main living area, the tough decision for us was taking our afternoon nap oceanside or poolside :-) Located toward the eastern end if the isle, "Caribbean time" felt just right (no traffic or hustle and bustle). We ate more than once at the Blue Terrace Restaurant just down the hill from the house, which was not only convenient but also very good. Also, on the way to and from the house, you must stop by Cheeseburger's and buy some of their homemade salsa! Although it was only the two of us in this gorgeous house and never used the "guest house," this would be perfect for a family or couples with the separate living and bedroom area. We hope to visit here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a nice review. I'm happy to hear you not only had a wonderful anniversary, but enjoyed our home and our beautiful island.

My husband and I just returned from 8 glorious, relaxing days at this beautiful home. We had previously stayed at the Buccaneer and and it can't even compare to your own private house. The home is spacious and the decor is just perfect for a tropical retreat. The pictures are right on with the views you wake to every morning!! The sounds of the tropics and the beautiful setting is just what you are looking for in a vacation rental. The house has a great privacy patio with full view of Buck Island, passing sail boats and local fisherman. You can snorkle right in your own backyard then come in and jump in the pool. What more can you ask for?! Plenty of restaurants close by to choose from and the drive to Christenstad is a short drive with addtional stops at local markets for groceries. We are coming back, planning next years vacation already!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
