- The property is a 7 minute walk to the marina where boats depart each day to the famous Great Barrier Reef, a playground for snorkeling and diving amongst the coral. Through my work, my wife and I have had the opportunity to live and work in some amazing places in the world including living in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. We love changing locations every couple of years and experiencing the excitement of becoming a local and being part of a different culture and lifestyle. It keeps us young! Our home is in Sydney and occasionally we even live there!
Why the Owner Chose Port Douglas:
We had been holidaying in Port Douglas for a few years and typically staying at a friend's apartment there. We love the place for its varied activities, great eating and sophisticated lifestyle. It has everything you want for a holiday, whether you are looking to just relax on the lounge or something more active like go scuba diving every day.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
We bought a property that we can imagine living in a few months a year: plenty of room, light and breezy, fitted out to our taste and with a fantastic location right in the centre of town but quiet, secure and convenient to EVERYTHING. The supermarket is a 5 minute stroll away but you would never know it sitting on the balcony or lying by the pool! We also didn't want to be in one of the huge complexes and developments around Port which are often crowded and noisy especially around the pool area. Our property only has 10 villas and most of the owners live overseas and don't holiday let their properties. The place is therefore very private and usually very quiet. You almost always have the 25 yard pool to yourself. When we were trying to decide where to buy our Port Douglas home, we wanted a place where we could easily get to a great coffee, the beach or marina, without waiting for a bus or having to hire a car. We wanted to be close to where the action was and that is what we found. The property also has award winning gardens that surround the property and pool area. Gorgeous tropical plants and trees that you would not see anywhere else in the world
